41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How a Mainstream Messaging App Plans to Preserve Privacy on: July 29, 2019, 06:55:23 PM
With David Chaum's cMix protocol using precomputation his latest application Elixxir plans to become the go-to privacy focused messaging application. I think as more people learn about social media companies' involvement in people's data there is no better time than now to have a anonymous communications app come to market.

Currently on their Alphanet I know there are a lot of people patiently waiting for the MainNet

42  Economy / Service Discussion / 200 Year Old Security Firm Develops Crypto Wallet on: July 29, 2019, 06:43:48 PM
Just this last quarter Ciphertrace reported 1.2 billion USD worth in digital currencies were stolen. YOUNIQX Identity AG part of the Austrian State Printing House, the 200-year-old security company behind the European Union’s travel documents, has developed its own cryptocurrency wallet.

The advantages are also pretty cool, one in particular is that nobody can view the key pair not even the staff at YOUNIQX which is huge.

44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ciphertrace Reports Thefts Top 1.2 Billion in Q1 Report on: July 24, 2019, 05:11:31 PM
wow that's such a bummer to see. I wonder if this has to do with more people involved in using cryptocurrency. Curious to see how regulations/government involvement over the next year and also compliance within exchanges

Bees are so important. I really hope more people find the time to have their own hives
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy, it matters! on: July 22, 2019, 10:41:20 PM
Have you listened to many David Chaum talks recently? He's been a huge proponent of privacy for a while now but even more so now
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / NULS adds NRC-721 to their 2.0 Beta on: July 22, 2019, 09:25:34 PM
NULS 2.0 Beta added NRC-721 standards allowing to issue non-fungible tokens on the Beta version which is huge. People will now be able to build games if they choose on their Beta platform.

Just this last week they launched their 10-minute approach to blockchain which allows developers to deploy a blockchain. Not just blockchain native developers.

This is going to be super interesting to see what people come up with.

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quickest Way to Deploy a Blockchain on: July 17, 2019, 09:09:21 PM
Was checking out their community board and it looks like they have one use case in the pipeline: a DEX based on smart contracts https://nuls.community/d/565-dex-top-nuls More projects and use cares are in the pipeline I am sure especially since they have their hackathon currently running
49  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: G20 Regulations not a good thing. on: July 17, 2019, 08:55:42 PM
I think we need to be more involved than ever both as a consumer and as a active members of the crypto community. This is really serious stuff. Whether we choose to vote or work with companies that are taking an active role in speaking to congress. One company in particular I've been actively watching ciphertrace who has been super vocal in the entire regulation announcement

I think the experience to get the degree is more important than the degree itself.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The Monopoly of Binance on: July 16, 2019, 06:53:01 PM
Maybe part of your opinion is right now. Binance is leading the current crypto market. They created trends and maintained that trend.
It can be said that Binance currently has a great influence on this market. Other exchanges need to change to attract more users and increase their competitiveness, thus helping to avoid the case that Binance monopolizes this market. Recently Okex announced about OKchain, as well as regular monthly launch of IEO, I think it is a positive signal.

I agree that Binance being a monopoly is an opinion. I think they have created great influence in the market through their Binance Labs, KYC/AML compliance with firms like ciphertrace, backup plans for hacks and generally providing value to the entire industry. I am looking forward to seeing this exchange set itself apart
52  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Dutch first to propose money laundering laws over crypto and cash limits on: July 16, 2019, 06:41:48 PM
Do you think the Dutch would be open to implementing technology such as proof-of-knowledge which is what cyber security company ciphertrace suggested https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/ciphertrace-shyft-team-id-protecting-solution-fatf-crypto-guidance

I know they are working closely with legislation in the US
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What ease your mind the most about bitcoin on: July 16, 2019, 06:28:15 PM
For me it's the thriving community that believe in bitcoin and make it a reality. There are so many people trying to build it up and protect it... from hackers to cyber security firms like Ciphertrace, companies who want to make it faster and more reliable. The fact that so many people are coming together to make it something rather than just one overarching company is remarkable
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most exciting new altcoins? on: July 12, 2019, 04:50:15 PM
NULS. Although they've been around for a bit and rank him on CMC. They just released their 2.0 which gives any developer regardless of programming language the opportunity to build a blockchain in under 10 minutes with their modules.
55  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you buy if you have 1 bitcoin? on: July 11, 2019, 12:02:11 AM
Probably some NFTs or art Smiley

I feel as I get older I should invest in art
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Libra the future anyone wants? on: July 10, 2019, 11:45:20 PM
That's a no from me dawg. I am not a fan of this Libra project especially in terms of privacy. Didn't David Chaum try reaching out to Zuck early on?
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Crime is getting Worse, what do we do? on: July 10, 2019, 11:36:26 PM
https://news.yahoo.com/cryptocurrency-thefts-fraud-hit-1-211446327.html

In Q1 alone of 2019 there was $356m in theft of digital currencies from exchanges and scams while losses from fraud hit 851m. This number includes the QuadrigaX scam which accounts to about $134m in total losses.

What can we do to help stop these from happening and getting worse?
If we talk about the exchanges, we can not help them in safety. They themselves develop their own defense system, which, as we see, may not work. Nevertheless, we can protect ourselves. Never keep all your savings on the wallets of exchanges. Try to withdraw as quickly as possible the coins that you don't intend to trade now.
Also, keep your data safe. Don't download third-party applications from unverified developers on your laptop and be always attentive when visiting different sites.

I definitely think that exchanges can implement KYC/AML regulations to help them in safety just like ciphertrace does for say binance. I do agree wtih you that you should never keep your funds all in the same place, always keep them in multiple places
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think advisors help new projects? on: July 09, 2019, 10:08:15 PM
Yes definitely but it takes the right ones not just anyone
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best privacy coin? on: July 09, 2019, 10:04:52 PM

60  Other / Beginners & Help / Blockchain Development Kit for Anyone Looking to Build on: July 09, 2019, 09:48:40 PM
NULS just released their ChainBox which allows any person looking to develop a blockchain to do so in just about 10 minutes. This out-of-the-box style approach gives beginner developers the chance to play around with different extensions and plugs that will make the blockchain customizable to their needs.
