Just gauging interest in who would be interested in buying some gridseed miners using MRC. So far Spiffcow and MicroCC has expressed some interest in actually using mrc for payment. The minimum will be 5units @ $195 using mintpal as the standard.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: March 12, 2014, 07:05:24 PM
@ nouseforacoin
That's why I have been trying to think of ways that ppl can use their mrc, but like spiffcow said a lot of miners sitting on their coins quietly hoping this thing will take off, so no one actually wants to spend their coins... They probably don't want to end up like that guy who spent 10k btc on pizza, but hey he helped btc by making it useful
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: March 12, 2014, 06:50:21 PM
Mining is not profitable because of the high block rewards, just think when the block rewards were low mrc was trading at .00000450 and ppl thought that was a crap price well look at it now... I know this is a good buying opportunity and who ever got to buy at .00000025ltc was a lucky guy. I guess my only problem is that the more this coin inflates the less value my early mined coins become. I have a huge chunk of these coins, I guess that's why I am willing to actually sell real gear for this coin because services is what really matters when it all comes down to it
Yield does not depend on the number of coins in the block. Yield depends on the demand for the coin.

You can say that to yourself all you want but it does depend on reward produce V.S. demand. Their was some good buy support at 4-5 satoshi, and it was destroyed by profit miners. If the coin was not inflating so rapidly those buy wall would still be standing so yes it does matter. Think about the ppl who bought at 15 satoshi you think they be telling their friends to come and join our community?

Dev should defiantly consider accelerating the reward drop maybe drops 200 every block instead of one. It looks obvious that some one is trying to kill the coin and the current miners are not like the early miners who actually care about MRC. Current miners are exploiting this opportunity to soak up all the mrc wealth and dump it... so sad, the devs should move to keep this coin alive perception matters in todays crypto world and no one wants to invest in something that's constantly losing value.

Seriously, all the new miners don't give a flying F*ck about this coin yet they profit the most off this coin.
Minnig is not profitable at the current rate. Why else would reduce the reward? Mining ceased to do?

wtf some one dumped 78 million micro when they could have used that to purchase GPU's from me at much greater value then what they got selling for such a low price
And they dump it even half price than they can do in Mintpal.

Here is one picture about microCoin current price:

If micro will be even small payment system and because after short time,  microCoin can mine only 24,000 / day.
With current poloniex price it means 0.15575 USD / day.
(4.6725 USD / month).

If there is only 1 GPU miner mining microCoin, then price should be 15X more than now.
If there is 10 GPU miners sharing mining profits equally, then price should be 150X more than now.
If there is 100 GPU, then price should be 1500X etc..

This is the Devs model for this coin=

Piss off and discourage Early and Loyal miners like you and myself ... Make profit miners happy and let them dump MRC to hell

We're way pass the even/fair distribution of coins, so whats the point of the high block rewards now huh

how to POS this on wallet?  Huh Huh Huh Huh

PoS is not implemented yet..Think dev has mainly been focusing on making alcurEX. PoS isnt really needed yet anyway until block reward has reached -50k and even better used once at the 1k reward block. Glad to see alcurEX is almost ready to be launched going to see a lot more momentum of this once it is.

alcurEX update: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=458732.300

strong POS coins seem to be gaining a lot of favor with investors and crypto community. I myself love the idea of saving money on my electric bill and still being able to mine coins. What percent do you think the devs should set the stake at? 20% like mint?
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: March 11, 2014, 11:18:00 PM
@ spiffcow

I'm going to use mintpal as the standard because they seem to have more volume there and because I will be less likely to lose money because of the current price lol I mean it cant get any lower then 1-2 satoshi... I will keep you guys updated and let you guys know when I'll open the group buy. I know right now the minimum will be
Price:
[5 units] =$195/unit
[10 units + controller]= $190/unit

No accessories will  be included... Cabelz is designing psu cables to hook up to a modular atx psu. I will personally be ordering my own cables from him myself and throw away these generic industrial psu's I got at amazon lol
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: March 11, 2014, 08:18:07 PM
guys, remember that block reward has just started dropping..but in two weeks reward per block will be definitely low..but only mining diff and reward cannot increase the price themselves...we need good services, hopefully alcurex.com will help with this aspect of marketing.
However just try to put somw good words on the various trollbox: an example, yesterday i've made good propaganda and 5 ltc of buy were made..now if you look at sell orders LESS than 9 LTC would bring up price on chart from 60 to 90 almost..
Nobody has a few ltc or btc to invest on this? i would if i could have it now...just these days i ran out of money for this...i need to ait a week or so for my payday...so i'm losing a lot of cheap stuff!

I have bought up the price several times, but each time somebody just decides to dump 10x more.  I'm sitting on a ton of MRC that's now virtually worthless.  This focus on alcurex has really hurt this coin.

The coin is hurt? Really? Where has this thing "get rich quick" written over it? It was always said that it is a long term investment.
The impatient will be the only ones that will be hurt here.

Dude, just stop about the whole impatient bit.  I've been mining MRC since around block 40k.  It's consistently fallen in value since then, and I don't see anything that indicates it's going to rise in value.  I've lot quite a bit of money mining this instead of VTC, UTC, etc.  Don't act like financial interests are somehow beneath you -- with very few exceptions, we're all here to make money (literally and figuratively).  Even after block 160k, it's still falling in value, because it's not being promoted.  That's a fucking shame, and it's this community's fault.

Your damn right! Everyone is in this for the money and it really sux to see your investment disappear into the abyss. As I'm also in blackcoin I can tell you that when the mining reward drops this does not automatically means the price will rise. After 1 week POW BC turned 100% POS and 1 day after the POS phase 3000 sat became 500sat pretty quick. Right now it's being pumped like crazy so I hope to make some BTC of it and I hope the same applies to MRC. Limited supply is good but high demand is better. This community and the dev need to promote the hell out of MCR (or get a whale to do the job). MCR can become the next BC, or POT ...

I would like to see a strong POS with this coin, I like mints idea with the POS but not going completely POS

Guys if your interested in spending some MRC here is a few pics of a rig I'm selling. Willing to part out the GPU's and sell them separately Make an offer!!!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=510445.new#new
Nice rig V.
My only problem is I have no more fuse in my house.
I moving on May and if there is more fuses, I may be interest.
Why you sell? Mining is still profitable.

Well I finally got a reliable remailer for gridseeds so im going to be mining with those from now on, I'll post pics later. I did a private group buy with a 4 other friends where I live and it worked out great. I'm going to do a group buy here at the forum $195/unit. The minimum order is 200 units from gridseed, so lmk if you would be interested in that as well. I think i'll only be accepting a minimum amount of units against Microcoin though because of the low volume.

I would perhaps also be interested, but just read at fasbit that the minimum order quantity has raised to 1000.

When I paid for mine the min was 200, but I cant find the post that your talking about. All other group buys are still open at a 200 minimum, so im just assuming that nothing has changed. are you sure they are not selling 1k

I don't think its possible to inta-mine for 3-4 months lol but yah I get what you mean. in that case maybe they should decend the block reward at a faster rate. The early adopters are getting screwed big time on this as they mined when it was 10k/block and whales just raped this coin when it was 100k/block and dumped it making it seem worthless. I think the block reward design was this coins flaw and that's why VTC and UTC gained more traction early on. It's because early miners actually had some loyalty to their coin and didn't have to worry that their coin wasn't going to devalue 100x over.

I see no reason to change the reward ramp.  Mining reward and Exchange valuation are not linked, that is the most common repeated misunderstanding from coin to coin to coin...'value will go up as reward decrease'.  Now go look at exchange records from the last year...this does not hold true.  Investors do not care about the mining.

microCoins reward structure has been great.  Instead of a handful getting the most reward at the beginning, those at the beginning got the easy fruit but not the most fruit.  Then as reward increased that attracted more miners, but the increased reward compensated for the increased hash as my personal rewards stayed pretty constant maybe 2/3.  Now rewards are dropping and some miners are leaving...guess what, my mining amount has actually gone up again.

IMO the block reward ramp up ramp down structure of MRC is one of the most perfect I have seen.  Very consistent rewards for a rapid mining phase type coin (ie not exponentially decreasing strongly favouring the earliest miners only)...quite fair to old and new miners.

Dumpers dump regardless what the mining reward structure is, happens to any coin that is in the upper percentile of mining profitability.  Also no point exaggerating...from the peak value of 8sat to the low yesterday of 1sat, that is an 8x drop not 100x.  More realistically it is a 3x drop as the average price has been around 3sat/150lat.

I mined since the begging and seen when it hit poloniex the price was actually at .00000400-.00000500ltc now it is .00000059ltc... I have to say that im kind of disappointed that the block rewards inflated to 160k but this is still my favorite coin and im sticking by it.

60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: March 07, 2014, 09:01:23 PM
I got an idea when the block rewards descend to 1000/block the devs should reset the nfactor back to 5 and leave it there untill asics are developed for scrypt-jane. Right now no scrypt-ASIC miners are able to hash this coin so the only thing that the nfactor is doing now is causing us to use more energy and produce more heat

This is a good idea my electric went up and im mining less now. I dont really care for cpu miners anyway
