41  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Blue Fury Support Thread. on: November 08, 2013, 05:58:51 PM

Out of my two units I've got one hashing 1.7gh/s and the other at 411mh/s.  Yes you read that correctly.  411mh/s.  That's barely faster than a block erupter.  Using cgminer 3.7.2 under win 7.  Disappointed with these as the setup was convoluted at best and the results are underwhelming.  These are buggy as hell.  Good luck if you guys decided to produce a second batch.  My recommendation is don't and save everyone the hassle.

By the way, what's the process to exchange the obviously broken one for one that works at least within 20% of your advertised target?

even selling at 150 after fees i still make more then 1 btc so stop with the low ball offers there all refurbished cards and they have less then two weeks time mining on them.

Maybe you should list your products with what you expect to sell them for instead of telling everyone to guess how much you want.  Of course you are going to get low ball offers if you don't establish first what your expectations are.  Duh.  You told everyone to make offers based upon no starting price so they work from the bottom and go up.

This is not ebay so quit telling everyone what you could sell them for there and just go do it.  If people here were willing to pay the ebay price they would just go buy from ebay.

47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: September 27, 2013, 05:42:44 PM
Try lowering the diff on your 6990, even try multiple threads on a lower intesity.  Yes you get a slightly lower hashrate (difference on my cards is like 5-10kh/s) but you get less stales and a higher return, at-least that's what I have found anyway.

Thanks for your advise.

However, I do need the high intensity because this rig is also CPU mining XPM.
If I cut intensity below 18 the hashrate skydives, unless I stop the CPU miner.
The 6990 does 950 Kh/s on I 19, with CPU miner enabled it drops to 915.
Any lowering of intensity has a dramatic impact on the hashrate. (I 17 gives 600-650)
So, thats why I'm reluctantly pointing it at a LTC pool. High hashrate, almost no rejects, and my CPU is doing something usefull.

When mining scrypt, you need 1 core on your CPU "available" to get your best hashrate.  It doesn't seem like it should be that way, but I discovered that when I was trying LTC on the GPU and CPU at the same time.  The loss of 1 core on CPU was trivial compared to the hashrate lost on the GPU.

Lol I did not know this and thought you were full of hoowie until I tried it myself and it turns out sir that you know what you are talking about.  I was having problems with hash rate on 3 rigs where I had been running my CPU on SRC and never made the connection until I read this.  I was killing myself trying to figure out what the issue was.  I freed up one core on each machine and TADA! back to normal.  I say good on you.  Thanks!

So I did what I thought was reasonable and deleted the rig in the app to see if it would somehow reset.  Both entries for that rig disappeared.  But my plan went awry when I discovered that I didn't know how to add the rig back.  So now I can't get the rig to show up in the app.

...

Anybody had this happen?  Any ideas on how to fix it?

Machines should automatically show up in MobileMiner after they start submitting mining statistics. There's no additional step you should have to take. If the machine is mining, but not showing in MobileMiner, please PM me your email address and MobileMiner application key and I'll get it taken care of.

You will forever get immediate assistance due to how much I enjoy saying your forum name in my head  Grin

Lol a stripper gave me that name years ago and it just stuck.  The guys at work had a nameplate made up and put it outside my office.  I didn't notice it for a couple weeks.  Pretty embarrassing but funny.

Thanks for your help.  Great job on Multiminer.  It's my most used app by far.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner & MobileMiner: Your Coins. Your Pools. Your way. Win/Mac/nix/Mobl/Ava on: September 27, 2013, 03:28:46 PM

I've got probably an easy to answer question but I can't figure it out.  I am using the Android app and had it monitoring 3 different rigs for a couple weeks now.  For some reason the app began showing one of the rigs offline but it actually wasn't.  It was also duplicated on the app display, so that particular rig was showing as two separate rigs in the app.  I verified the rig was hashing properly and was able to remote in with no problem.  I tried to refresh the screen to see if I could get it to show as back online but it wouldn't.  I waited a few hours also to see it it would magically reset itself and still the same.

So I did what I thought was reasonable and deleted the rig in the app to see if it would somehow reset.  Both entries for that rig disappeared.  But my plan went awry when I discovered that I didn't know how to add the rig back.  So now I can't get the rig to show up in the app.  I don't see any option to add a miner anywhere.  I verified that I have enable remote mining checked in settings and my key and email address are correct for that particular miner.  I've tried deleting the app data and reentering in my key and email but I get the same results so I'm not sure if deleting the app and reinstalling is going to work.  My other two rigs are working and being monitored as the should be.

Anybody had this happen?  Any ideas on how to fix it?
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Multiminer not connecting to Noirbits pool on: September 27, 2013, 03:11:46 PM
This program is awesome and it would have been the first thing I used if I knew about it when I first started out mining.

I'm having some trouble connecting to this pool : http://nrb.miners-united.com/news for Noirbits. I use the same settings in GUIminer Scrypt and it works. But Multiminer attempts to connect for a few minutes and then produces the error message "Configuration for noirbits disabled - all pools down."

I had the same problem with http://nrb.miners-united.com. I suggest you register and add http://noir.minepool.net:3345 as a backup in Multiminer. That's what i did and my problem is solved.

I'm having the same issue with http://nrb.miners-united.com.  And I'm having an issue staying connected to http://noir.minepool.net.  I believe it to be a pool issue and not related to Multiminer.  When I connect with Guiminer I will hash for a few minutes and then hashing stops and I have to restart.  Giving up on NRB for the time being as I can't find any other decent pools.

Guys, I went from about a 4% reject rate the last few days to over 22% today.  I like the pool, the ops are responsive and seem to be trying, but until you get all the bugs ironed out I'm off to something else.
54  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which USB hub to use with Block Erupters or NanoFury NF1? A List. on: September 17, 2013, 01:49:34 AM
For good measure here's some pictures of my setup using the 13 port hubs provided by WTCR: http://imgur.com/a/ddCPb

Nice solution. I think I'll sink mine into the case as well and place a speed-reduced 92mm fan over them.
Just ordered 2 more of those hubs.

Are you located in Canada or the US? Just wondering how you're able to justify the shipping (which actually costs more than the item itself.)

I work at WTCR ;].

Let me know how many your looking for and I can probably work out a deal!

Group buy!  Set it up!

Thank's!!! But some bugs are: before closing after

Is there a way to turn off coin suggestions? I have my 3 coins set up and don't really want suggestions. Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find this option (I'm sure I read that we could turn it off somehow)

Version 1.2.32 is now available. It's a small public update that addresses the above requests.

Thanks for this.  I love this proggy but the notifications were getting maddening.   Smiley

1.  Mine the highest rated coin on coinchoose using automated mining based on profitability, or one of the many autoexchanging pools that are cropping up.
2.  Autosell each coin on exchange for bitcoin.
3.  Feel guilty about participating in the altcoin gang beat down that continues to destroy every single altcoin that dares try to make its way to the top, all in the name of profit.
4.  Pray that some sucker continues to buy the altcoins I'm mining that continue to lose value so that I can keep the ponzi going.
5.  Hope that new victims (altcoins) keep getting created to replace the ones that we have all killed.
6.  Huh
7.  Profit!

Yeah this scenario sucks but unfortunately that's what's happening to the altcoin market.  Where does it all end up?  I dunno.  Do I want to be part of the problem?  Nope, but it's not really a problem more than the reality of the market.  I have no idea where it's going or where it ends up.  I am just participating in this "eating of our young" like everyone else.

I think I need a good cry and a shower now.

Same here.  This happened during account creation.  Doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the administration of this pool.
