pool 109.90.229.170:35585 currently reloading blocks, During today no connect was possible, many miners (my computers also) where not able to connect, dont know if daemon crashed? on local server the xdag -i was still working, but no external connects however ping was ok.
Also i saw today a lot (at least 20!) of miners with same wallet on different ips... botnet?!?

We need to have better coordination for pool, like mandatory updates and offtimes. Next maintenance could be done tomorrow evening on mine, earliest.
|
|
|
do i need to restart the pool for this update? so i assume its best to use -r for new copy? to minimize offtime?
Yes you may, using -r option. You may copy storage folder to the next installation or just do a symlink. did it with symlink, outtime was only a few minutes. great. TX worked as it should :-)

Can we do a voting for gpu algorithm? I would vote equihash.
Not subject of change. I dont like the idea to switch to GPU mining... that would (once again) strip out a lot of people from gaining access to the project. Currently its very easy to get people in xdag cause everything is just a simple proggie, no bloat. For me sticking to CPU is the right way...

Can someone explain this percentages? (1%-5%-10%) I don't understand ... this means there is donation of 16% of the block for example?
Thanks
1% pool fee 5% finder 10% direct workers on finding 84% for all connected miners

@Dev: migration from win to linux worked very smooth. Pool was back online within a very short timeframe. Great. Now with new pool: as i read there is a autodonation of 0.1 set, right? This is already working? Is the receivers address hardcoded or how does it work? Who owns the donation wallet and how will it be spent?
Thanks again for your effort to deliver this great project to us.

Pool 109.90.229.170:35585 Statusupdate
There was a problem on Pool Server, so i moved entire pool to new Linux based more powerful (and Pool only) Computer. Pool ist operational and in sync.
BTW. Location of my Pool is mid of Germany

@DEV: I am going to setup new Linux Server for my pool so i want to move from windows to linux. is it possible wo use wallet, dnet_key and storage by copying content to linux and start or do the versions have different layout in storage dir?
That would mean i have to resync whole network, right? What is prefered to minimize offtime of pool?
|
|
|
i will be out of office for 4 Days. Server keeps running on latest 793 version. PoolOwners should coordinate a planned update for pools when required, so that the whole net wont be offline.
So we shall develop an update strategy.

@Dev: I have a user on Facebook, who is blind. So he has serious problems handling GUI-based wallets, obvious. He is very excited about the CLI-Version of cheatcoin, because the output could be read via text-to-speech. Is there a possibility to remain a CLI-Version in further versions, to support handicapped people?
Already told him the possibility to control Electrum and QT via debug console, but in some versions output is also only graphic, not readable by T2S systems so it makes him almost impossible to use it...
OK, the console version will remain. Good to hear. will forward the info.

i checked the pool log. Mining hashrate of my pool is at 240 out of 10000, and we did not hit a block for 1.5 hours, dev pool las about 1300 hashrate, dont know the stats of the other 2 big ones, but afaik the last in the list also only has a few miners connected, so mining is very centralized. So it does not make sence to keep the pool running when miners dont get rewarded.
Just a waste of time and energy. Sorry to say that but when this situation is not changing in the next few days i will remove my pool and move my miners to one of the others.

By the way, to give the value to cheatcoins, I can start exchange. I have a bit Bitcoin Gold, I can sell them for cheatcoins. Once I sold my bitcoins, and Bitcoin Cash sold, and with these just did not understand what to do. So the proposals should also be attached to advice on how to transfer this gold, without downloading full node.
i would try to use coinomi app, was stated that this would work without downloading full blockchain. make sure to move bitcoins away before using coinomi with Private key. Yes, coinomi is what I used too. There are other forks or giveaways to bitcoin holders from about the same time. You might want to try those to get some extra money too. semux, bitcore give coins but they require full node. Fortunately, the blockchain is small as they are not forks Bitcoin diamond also would be nice but I don't know how to do it without full node either. And a question for cheatcoin. How do we transfer keys to another machine? I thought wallet.dat in the same folder would do it, but just now I installed in a second machine, put wallet dat there before starting. It's as if it didn't exist. It asked for password and random characters and created new address. Is there an import-export function that I can use? also have to transfer dnet_key.dat as far as i know...
