41  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Google will ban ads involving cryptocurrencies on: March 16, 2018, 07:52:02 PM
After a long day at work, it became a habit for me to read news just to be informative on what's happening around. Then I bumped into this interested topic which came from our local news website.

Being a crypto enthusiast, I was baffled upon reading the entire body of the subject. Why such a tech giant such as Google doesn't want cryptocurrencies be advertised? We are already in the golden age of digital economy and more people became interested as time goes by.

"As per Alphabet Inc's Google, they will shutdown ads that contains cryptocurrencies this coming June.

The new policy implemented will ban advertisement that are unregulated or speculative financial products.

They (Google) want to improve the ads experience across the web, and crypto related ads has become more harmful and intrusive to the market.

Even Facebook already announced to ban ICO's, it will be implemented across all platforms including Instagram"

There were a lot of scams being perpetrated by crooks using Google ads. It is also a way to discourage cryptos for the meantime until it matures more.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH v NEO on: March 16, 2018, 07:41:11 PM
NEO seems to have more promising returns now than ETH. It is more scalable and well thought. ETH though is much more popular.
Still lots of potential still in the future.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA is the next big thing on: March 16, 2018, 07:38:52 PM
From what I have read, they still have issues with scaling in their blockchain. Would prefer Nano for now.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we repeating the 2014 BTC crash??? on: March 16, 2018, 07:32:52 PM
Watch and see how BTC is currently following the exact same trend (behavior) of the 2014 BTC crash.  The chart similarity is eerie.  Shocked

I hope and pray we break away from it though.

I think 2014 was the result of the Mt. Gox hack and failure. Still. everything can happen if more uncertainties weighs the market down.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Wish I never bought altcoins on: March 16, 2018, 07:31:30 PM
Would have been much better off just leaving everything in bitcoin. Altcoins suck.

Every altcoin have moved up now. BTC has gone down to normal values since December highs.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Winter is coming? on: March 16, 2018, 07:30:27 PM
Saw this article that show how Mt Gox's trustee trades had an impact that moved the market from Dec 2017 till Feb 2018.

Transactions on exchanges:
Sales #1 (2017-12-22) - 6000 BTC
Sales #2 (2018-01-17) - 8000 BTC
Sales #3 (2018-02-07) - 4000 BTC
Sales #4 (2018-02-08) - 4000 BTC
Sales #5 (2018-02-09) - 10000 BTC

66,344 BTC remaining for Kobayashi to liquidate.

Does this mean BTC (and all other crypto) going to drop further?

February and March have always been a bad month for BTC. Markets should warm up during April and May.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: VeChain, still super undervalued on: March 16, 2018, 07:28:47 PM
Vechain is very cool project because price is cheap and roadmap is like a boss. Their partnerships look very different and ambitious at the same time. I expect very huge jump from coin to surprise many people.

Currently looking into Vechain also, seems they will be forking to create dividend tokens.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best ICO for March 2018 on: March 16, 2018, 07:23:01 PM
Read an article that states that projects now prefer to airdrop instead of ICOs. Any ideas on how it will affect ICOs in the future.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the crypto market recover? on: March 15, 2018, 10:20:51 PM
Do not know the future for the market. What I know is that blockchain will be valuable in the future and so companies innovating with it.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can myetherwallet still work? on: March 15, 2018, 06:11:13 PM
Still working now, it is one of the most stable wallets out there with support for Ledger also. I primarily use ledger to store my coins and altcoins.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in NEO ? on: March 15, 2018, 06:09:43 PM
Hello all,

I'm currently holding some coins (50% NEM). Now I have about 350$.
What is the best choice in your opinion? Should i invest in NEO or other coins like GAS, IOTA, XRP, ICX ... ?

NEO is a good bet in the next 2-3 years. Once the newer blockchain goes off though, not sure then.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum below $600 on: March 15, 2018, 06:07:21 PM
Does not really also undestand the cause of decline, there just a lot of bad news and most investors have all panicked now.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be better? on: March 15, 2018, 06:06:25 PM
Bitcoin, cryptocurrency in general, have taken a lot of exposure these past few years. Especially last year where Bitcoin price reached around 20k USD.

And because of its popularity, more and more people (and money) are getting involved. Scammers took notice of it and are taking advantage of it and a lot of people are victimized by these crooks. Facebook took action by banning crypto ads in their platform, and Google is now following steps.

Do you think that cryptocurrency is better away from the limelight? And hoping that it will gain momentum if the general public's eye is =not looking?

Still, believe a lot of cryptos, current market conditions are beneficial for those who are late in joining the markets. I'm currently holding on to my coins for the long term. We all know it is just a matter of time until cryptos are accepted in the mainstream.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does Bitcoin price affect ICOs on: March 13, 2018, 08:24:31 PM
I have been wondering how directly and indirectly fluctuations in the price of bitcoin affects ICOs performance at that time. Anyone who knows this can assist in the explanation.

BTC will always the barometer for the price of alternate currencies/ICOs. If BTC takes a hit, usually everything else goes down also.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much is your altcoin down since January? on: March 13, 2018, 03:19:59 PM
Mine is down almost 75% from the ATH early January. Pretty ludicrous but I am still on the green so I am still happy.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH will go back to $1 this year here is why.. on: March 13, 2018, 03:19:00 PM
ETH is ambitious on its goal to be the virtual computer of the world. I do not think it's value is diminished yet this year. We will only see that when the developers leave the project.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICO or buy later on exchange ? on: March 13, 2018, 03:15:18 PM
There is no real fixed rule but it depends on many factors; if the ICO has a lot of hype, social follower, users that follow and support, solid and well-known team, etc. then it is very likely that it will have a good success on the market

On the contrary, if the team is new, with a very ambitious but unclear project, imbalance in the sale of tokens, no agreement with real companies, etc. then it is better to wait for the quote on exchange, because it is very likely that its price will be much below the ICO selling price.

There is also a third way, however, that is increasingly widespread in today's ICO: this is the whitelist or pre-ico, or even better as a private investor in the project (perhaps making a rope or group with more friends). In this way you get much better conditions on the token price in ICO and then you can sell immediately on the market, with a much higher return to investors who participated in the ICO.

Have found out that what you pointed out are mostly true from my experience.

Normally, hyped projects perform well in the markets after the ICO and peaks faster.

Being in the pre-sale is the sure way to guarantee you get solid rock bottom price on ICO if you have the proper amount though as they usually sell it in bulk.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I earned $ 3500 from the 1 airdrop on: March 13, 2018, 03:12:24 PM
I participated in the first airdrop IOP (internet of people) and with 500 token iop I received 2200 hydra .. that I sold in the exchange on the discord and from which I got 450 IOP .... with a gain of over 90% doing nothing. Tonight, the second airdrop closes the second airdrop and tomorrow another part

Wow! Was joining airdrops but just had 2 from the 100 I joined it that made me money. Still going to join more.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is NEO still worth investing in? on: March 13, 2018, 03:06:10 PM
NEO should be still worth it in the next 2-3 years. Still waiting for bullish news to happen though before I invest, currently, there is a lot of FUD around regulations tightening with ICOs.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: when is the right time to invest on bitcoin on: March 11, 2018, 03:29:32 AM
Best time is today. Not really, best time is when you are comfortable investing it and not afraid of losing it in any period of time.
