What's up with the cryptsy mooncoin wallet being offline?

Cryptsy is still holding several wallets hostage for weeks now, including the Luckycoin.
They are not communicating what is holding up the maintenance so long.
Likely it is just a shortage of man power for whatever reorganization they are doing behind the scenes.

Thank you!

I have continued the work with the new Mooncoin code base:
https://github.com/mooncoin-project/mooncoin-landann

This one is derived from Litecoin 0.7.1 and looks also ok, with minor coin specific modifications.

I have started some tests with the Mooncoin windows binaries, that didn't show anything special so far, but this is still work in progress.

Mullick, Cryptsy's wallet manager, told me that the Luckycoin wallet is on top of his list now.

Some more info:

The Mooncoin wallet is derived from the Dogecoin 1.5.1 code base.
https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/releases/tag/1.5.1

The Dogecoin 1.5.1 wallet is based on Litecoin 0.8.2 code.
https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/releases/tag/v0.8.6.2

Both wallets are well established and tested.

Dear Mooncoin community,

KlondikeBear has asked me to look into the security of the MOON wallet and the recent coin thefts.

These are the results and conclusions from my analysis so far:

1) The original wallet source code looks ok.
https://github.com/realmooncoin/mooncoin.git
There are no changes to the source code that would weaken the security.

2) Coin thefts
Judging from the wallet source code review, I don't think that the security of the Mooncoin wallet is broken.
Thus the coin thefts must be attributed to a combination of carelessness, wallet stealers, key-loggers, and other malware.

If there would be a weakness in the litecoin based wallets, then likely litecoin would be the first target and not mooncoin.
The thefts were not systematic and also not well timed wrt to the coin value.
This fact also points towards malware infected machines rather than issues with the wallet itself.

These are my conclusions under the assumption that everyone is telling the truth in the material that has been presented to me.

Titan, I went ahead and listed LuckyCoin on CoinGather.

Great, thank you!

It seems the exchange is not fully functional yet...

All good now, had an issue parsing the RPC for listtransactions.

The coingather exchange is working now.
I have added the exchange link to the front page.

Any word on an exchange yet?  The way cryptsy has been the past few months (longer than necessary wallet maintenance, increasing fees, and the general  lagginess) I just want to buy and sell some coins elsewhere.

I have been hammering Cryptsy with tickets for weeks now to get the wallet back online.
Remember what they did during the run up last year? They also put the wallet offline for three weeks during the most volatile time.
Please also submit a ticket to Cryptsy. Usually submitting new tickets gets them faster processed than updating old tickets.

We are also working on getting on new exchanges. Please follow the thread and twitter and help voting. Thanks!

For those who look beyond the next day or month this is an interesting piece to listen to.
And in the end why work on crypto currencies is important.

Dear Coinmin.pw

Since you are not answering my email, I am posting to this thread.

I just have read the site news:
LuckyCoin (LKY) will be removed from pool due unstable blockchain. Please withdraw your coins before 18/12/2014.

What is the definition of an "unstable blockchain"?

The Luckycoin uses advanced checkpointing ACP and has a well maintained core network infrastructure.
I have not seen anything unusual on the Luckycoin network over the last weeks.

So the question is why you want to remove the Luckycoin?

Cryptsy is still holding the Luckycoin hostage.
The coin is under maintenance for over two weeks now.
Please also put in some tickets to get this sorted out.
There is no reason for the exchange wallet to be offline that long.

Titan

dont know what they are doing with it but i have 80K + stuck now

Another week passed and in the usual fashion Cryptsy is not responding.
Please everyone open a Ticket at Cryptsy to put the Luckycoin out of maintenance.
There is no reason for the Luckycoin to be in maintenance for a month.

Titan

Finally, Cryptsy has woken up to the issue and I got a reply after a month.
I expect some progress now to get the Luckycoin wallet back online now.
