41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin paper wallet on: May 03, 2018, 12:20:35 PM
Thanks, wasnt aware I can just do it like that.  On other paper wallets in the past ive been using generators specifically for that which would print it with a QR code etc.

In that case I can easily sort it out with Electrum, thanks mate. I am just really paranoid with these things about clicking on fake websites etc.
42  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin paper wallet on: May 03, 2018, 12:10:52 PM
Hi Guys
I know fully I can just go google this but I am asking here to just add some assurance that I'm not gonna download some fake wallet.

Can anyone please recommend a good place to get a paper wallet generator ? I've had some gains but will only be getting a hardware wallet later this month and its worth securing my funds properly for now.  I would like to know I am safe in the meantime though.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about EOS ? on: May 03, 2018, 05:04:33 AM
EOS will be absolutely massive, the fact that it is a scaleable smart contract platform that allows you to develop dapps in any language you want and offers a zero fee network will really come into play and I think we will see a ton of ICOs launch on it.

The tech is really fantastic in my eyes, the problem comes in a bit on launch day as the community needs to do it. I see nobody discussing the logistics of that which is a bit worrysome.

I do think it is a bit overpriced for now, I mean we are one month from main net launch. I have gotten out for the time being expecting another correction before launch.  Will probably get back into it then, will definitely try get as much EOS as I can post main net. Despite the few issues it has I am very bullish on it for long term.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - SCAM OR NOT? BUY OR NOT? on: May 02, 2018, 05:56:17 PM
No way that this is a scam, they stated truthfully that the ERC20 EOS tokens are worthless. I am sure it was also added there for legal reasons. It doesn't mean anything.

The real concern is, is EOS heavily overpriced right now or can it still pump further? I can definitely see it overtake Bcash and possibly Ripple, but then I look at the dollar valuation it has to reach and I crawl back into my shell in fear.
Kinda S****ing myself every day since I hold a big position in EOS, I got in much earlier but still this is a lot of gains I stand to lose.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Firm aims to introduce bitcoin to PH on: May 02, 2018, 03:25:50 PM
How do they prevent a global collapse in stocks and Bonds and other commodities? The US has already started to regulate

Bitcoin as a commodity and they are looking at pegging Bitcoin prices to local {regulated} exchange prices to protect the

consumer. They also built in fail safe measures into Bitcoin futures to protect the consumers. The same things should happen

with Bitcoin in other countries. They should find innovative protection measures to protect consumers/investors.  Wink

I dont think protecting consumers from price action should be a focus, what we moreso need is protection against scams and fraud. This space is ripe with these things and it seems like the thieves always come out in the green.

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are new currencies still needed, or just new tokens? on: May 02, 2018, 09:18:31 AM
True, for currency we can have one coin to rule them all (Bitcoin). If some new scaling mechanism is invented, it should be deployed on bitcoin. BTC should be the reserve currency of this cryptoconomy.

As for utility tokens, I think we have too many of those coming out as well already. You see many re-hashes of people doing the same thing over and over. Even for smart contract platforms, EOS/ETH/NEO/ADA/ICX - one of these will make it work. I think the hype around new contenders in this space will die out soon.
47  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Roger Ver to be sued for defrauding bitcoin newbies. on: May 02, 2018, 07:15:29 AM
I hope this forces Ver to reflect back on his actions and look at how people perceive it. Say what you want about what is signed into law and all, but this IS misleading. It is not fair to new people, especially the ones who might have bought fake bitcoin a week ago when the fake mooned and has predictably dumped now.

Ver is a Judas to BTC and BCH. He needs to keep his emotions in line if he wants BTC or BCH to go anywhere and stop being so goddamn deceptive.

And if this is considered "legal" by the courts, I think a lot of people will sell some fake coin and call it bitcoin to screw newbies. Despite how everything is defined legally, anyone can clearly see this is fraudulent

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON ( TRX ) to the moon on: May 01, 2018, 06:50:00 PM
I think that Alibala will never use TRON as cryptocurrency: maybe they will create their own cryptocurrency and launch their big project based on blockchain. My idea is more realistic than TRON.

Agreed, if they were going to accept crpyto it would much more likely be BTC,LTC or *Cringe* BCH. TRX is just an ERC 20 token right now and is held by speculators, not well known to the general public at all.
That said, I think TRX will probably go up quite a bit still. The hype around the coin is quite big, it is a pity for them that they are launching at the same time as EOS as they will now be competing for market share for pre-launch pumps.

The point that I would refuse to enter a position is probably around 1200 sats.. for now I think TRX is still buyable if you are willing to sit through a few days of possible red.
49  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3% loss 10% profit -> sell on: May 01, 2018, 11:43:48 AM
If I set a 3% loss on my initial investment as a stop loss and a 10% profit as a stop for selling, will that make me trade too often ?
It would make your trades too often since 3% loss is easy to achieve in crypto. I suggest you set your stop loss to 40% and set your stop for selling as 30% for a better profit(if you wont do day trades). If you will, then your stop for selling is fine, but set your stop loss to 30% for better profits(since most markets doesn't drastically moves down all the time, which will lessen your trades. It will also help you save up on fees).

But then you risk 40% to make 30%. Which means your success rate on trades needs to be over 50%. This dude explains the logic quite well on this actually. I have sort of been operating in that fashion and its given me much more consistent and overall green.

50  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3% loss 10% profit -> sell on: May 01, 2018, 11:13:55 AM
It all depends on what the charts say when you enter a trade imo. I'd suggest looking into these things to determine your stop loss. (Just based of my experience and lessons iv'e learned after taking a loss)

Volume
Make sure you have a few separate buy walls between your entry price and stop loss. I have taken a lot of losses due to flash dumps triggering my stop loss, then the price normalizes after one minute and continues to moon. These really suck to see the next morning. Make sure your stop loss accommodates for a small correction

Current trend in BTC price
I normally look for something that's gone into an upward trend and kept in it for about a few days at least. Because if it hasn't gone up too much yet, you are statistically more likely to see it go up a bit more than for it to dump.

Current BTC price vs ATH
I normally like trading something that is about 20-30% of its ATH in BTC and then ofc also in an upward trend. This means its still got some good room to grow.

When to exit?
Lets say I bought a coin at 700 sats and it's at 1000 sats. If it's still in an upward trend then there is no point in me selling right now since I could lose out on more profits. In a case like this I'd set a stop loss at 920 sats or so, I mean 220 sats per coin is still great. If it continues to pump I will keep moving that stop-loss up, about 7-10% below the current price. This was you are assured to sell it near the top and you are guaranteed your profits.
The only risk is really when you enter for those first few hours.  My entry stop loss is generally 1-2%.

I am actually doing the rolling stop-loss on EOS now for my exit. I sold near the top and re-entered quite luckily near todays bottom with more tokens. I have my stop loss about 5,5k sats below the price.  So I am already guaranteed profits, if it goes on to break its ATH I am still in it and can enjoy the gains Smiley

Hope these insights help you, I normally take the 1% loss in the face if my entry isn't perfect. This sometimes screws me and other times saves me.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: Why bitcoin cash (BCH) is a poor idea. on: May 01, 2018, 06:36:11 AM
I agree with this even if I do not like bitcoin cash and I think the core developers are right in their vision anyone has the right to fork the code and make changes to bitcoin if they think that is going to improve the network, then all becomes a matter of which one is the superior product if the ones that created bitcoin cash are right we will find out in the next 5 or 10 years maybe less, but if the core developers are right we will find out in the same amount of time, either way we win since we get a stronger bitcoin as a result.

I sort of stand in the same boat, BCH is a good experiment and it is good to have another roadmap going for cryptocurrency as a whole. Whichever option is the best solution will exist to keep dominating in years to come.
Personally I wish we just went with the Segwit2x fork and everybody agreed on it. This kind of infighting and bad press is terrible for us as a community and it has to end.

The issue with bcash is the main promoters behind it, whom are always on the offensive and misleading people. You do not see any other altcoin marketing themselves by trying to hog the name of bitcoin and insulting the people whose code they copy pasted, or twisting facts to suit their narrative.  You never see anyone coming out and saying "I am the CEO of bitcoin cash".
If it wasn't for all this controversy I think BCH would have had a much more dominant position in the market. Ironically the people who are promoting it killed it.

And I do hope the newbies win their court case against bitcoin.com. Those links on their site is clearly and intentionally misleading.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / EOS main net launch - help please ? on: April 29, 2018, 01:55:13 PM
Hi Forum
So I heard that for the EOS blockchain to launch we as a community need to vote for the correct chain and genesis block. This needs 15% of the total supply to vote.
I am struggling to find clear info on how to do this online, does anyone have a link that explains it step by step? I have never done any blockchain voting before.
This is happening mid-May as far as I heard?

We all need to ensure that we play our part in main-net launch, EOS will be running as a truly decentralized platform. We should accept our reponsibility to it as token holders.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: next x10 coin on: April 29, 2018, 12:05:04 PM
For the next month I would advise just balancing out over EOS, ADA , and Tron (Yes I do regret including Tron in that...) Keep a close eye on Neo since its really about time for it to start moving.
As for ICO's, I have found one I am very much interested in - Quarkchain. Still researching it though, but everything is very promising so far. Note their ICO hasn't started yet, any site that sells this ICO right now is a scam, ICO starts in about a month.

54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will bitcoin be replace by ethereum/ripple on: April 28, 2018, 06:41:10 AM
Ethereum or a newer smart contract platform might overtake BTC, but I highly doubt that would ever happen.
As for Ripple, just no, its a shitcoin. Why do we want to do all this cryptocurrency stuff to make banks more efficient? Do people realize that banks wont even actually use the XRP coin for the platform? Most of all, why would anyone want to use the most centralized coin in the world? It is just about as decentralized as a reserve bank.

The current rank 3 and 4 on CMC do not deserve those spots. Good thing EOS is coming to take those. Hopefully something else that is deserving can steal the other one.
55  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin fees on: April 26, 2018, 07:12:00 AM
Bitcoin fees are actually too expensive and not fair because of these fees or fairs that they imposed in all transactions they received they can easily diminished the income that the investors received from their investors. Bitcoin fees should be change and fair for bwnefit of everyone.

I think for smaller transactions the fees should be reduced. It is fine to compensate with higher fees for larger transactions because miners have to be paid ultimately.

Remember the amount of BTC you send is irrelevant. There are no coins in bitcoin. When you send BTC you send inputs, depending on how many inputs you consume to generate the output the fee will vary.

Although it would be nice if there was a fixed % in terms of satoshis you send. But that would make spam attacks too easy.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS to rank 4 on CMC? on: April 25, 2018, 09:59:31 AM
Is EOS better than Neo, Xmr or Ltc? How come can it be so high market cap? I do not understand. I think this is some kind of hype. Cardano was high as Eos back in January and now it is #7, I think similar thing will happen to Eos after main net

You can't compare EOS to xmr or LTC since its completely different protocols. As for vs Neo, ICX, Eth or ADA. That is a matter of personal opinion for everyone and their understanding of each protocol. They all have something amazing to them, who knows which one will be on top.

I am bullish on all of them but especially on EOS. We will probably see somewhat of a drop after main net launch but that is normal. I wouldn't call it "hype" necessarily, its not a pump and dump sh*t coin. EOS is a good project as are its contenders.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / EOS to rank 4 on CMC? on: April 25, 2018, 07:10:45 AM
Hi Guys
What is your expectation for EOS's ATH running up to its mainnet launch. Do you think it can comfortably overtake BCH and take in rank 4 before mainnet?

I personally expect that we have only seen the start of its boom and expect the high to be around 300k sats. EOS could possibly contend with Ether, but I don't expect thatl happen anytime soon since the Ethereum brand is very strong.
58  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 👓 Trading routine 👓 on: April 25, 2018, 05:59:36 AM
I work similarly to you, going for safe consistent small gains.  I would advise you to trade on top 30 though, there are plenty of chances for massive gains. Look at ontology, or Verge. I was riding both those trains up and then jumped over to EOS and ICX which i'm on right now.

Anything in the top 30 is a fairly safe bet, and if you trade with "buy the rumor sell the news" you can end up pretty godamn green.
In the end of the day I don't really care one bit for 99% of the altcoins.  I just wana get more BTC.
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin fees on: April 24, 2018, 05:37:48 PM
What are is lightning network and How to integrate lightning network into the bitcoin?

Lightning network basically lets you do transactions off chain, peer to peer. Using this involves standard BTC fees when you open and close a channel, but remember you can do many transactions on that one channel without necessarily closing it. This is often called "Layer 2 scaling".
While you are transacting over this channel the fees are basically free, over LN Bitcoin is the cheapest coin in existence to send funds with, plus the transactions clear literally instantly. What makes this amazing is I can pay you a millionth of a USD cent per millisecond if I want to. You can stream money like you are streaming data with this ! It opens up so many new possibilities for BTC.

Here is a video from a youtuber I want to shill (Ivan on Tech) , he actually shows a transaction on the LN testnet including how to set it up. You would be shocked to see how instant everything is.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5IPheyaNHA

LN is live now and is starting to get adopted since this video was made, remember the setup will eventually reach a point where you wouldn't even know you are using Lightning.

How to decrease bitcoin transaction fees and an increase in the speed of transaction!

In times like now when the mempool is empty the best thing  you can do is consolidate your inputs, basically just send all your BTC to another wallet and then send it back. You can do this with a low fee per Kb if you don't mind waiting. Remember your transaction fees are not dependent on the amount of BTC you send but on the amount of inputs. So if you received a little BTC at a time many times, sending all that out will be expensive.

This way if the network gets spam attacked again you are okay and won't need to pay through your ears in fees

Most of all use a Segwit wallet wherever you can, since you can then leverage the 4Mb block weight vs the normal 1Mb block size on BTC. A segwit wallet will start with "3", a normal BTC wallet starts with "1"
60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MyEtherWallet login problem on: April 24, 2018, 05:15:00 PM
Does anyone have a problem with logging in to MyEtherWallet?
After i enter password theres a 30 seconds coundown which starts all over again.
And also looks like theres a problem with SSL on this website, not secured connection error

Are you sure you aren't on a Phishing site? Double check the URL and Cert, if you did go to one and entered your private key then immediately transfer all your tokens to a new wallet and never use that old wallet again.

MEW should always have the green lockpad in the top left, it should always be HTTPS.  If you ever see something like MEW or Binance without that, just DONT enter anything and move on.

Let us know if your coins are safe mate.

Did you manage to save your coins mate?
