it's just that...it's seems like you're trying too hard on the bear side as off late
42  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase will be next to halt withdrawals by Friday.. on: February 15, 2014, 08:08:37 AM
Friday is over. Coinbase never halted withdrawals. Bumping this thread for the lulz.

This FUD landed with a thud.

Ill let you know the next doom I sense, either way BTC is heading down, altcoins are where its at.. fedora, nxt, ripple..

Steve, you have your cheap coins now, mission accomplished. Why not ease off on the FUD?
43  Economy / Speculation / Re: We have cheap coins now... so stop complaining!!! on: February 15, 2014, 07:37:03 AM
From being here for all of the crashes, I can tell fearful is not yet a time to buy. When everyone loses hope and when it looks like bitcoin is done for, now that is the best time. However, this might not happen, as the problems, realistically, are non-existent, so this stupidity can't continue for much longer, time to start buying in.

Exactly my sentiment, and I have acted upon it as well...
44  Economy / Speculation / Re: My forecast of bitcoin on: February 15, 2014, 07:33:02 AM
I predict that bitcoin will hit another huge rush, but it will be in 6 months to 2 years.  The next rush will be between 20 - 50 k.  Bitcoin may seem like it will die this year imo.

As more people know about it and become disinterested, i think bitcoin will fall to new lows.

Seems like a pretty wild and broad prediction...
based on???  Roll Eyes
45  Economy / Speculation / Re: Transferring 25k into Gox to buy at current prices on: February 15, 2014, 07:31:11 AM
True, this is a high risk gamble...but it could pay off...
I do think that Gox will implement SOME limitiation though.
Else: people buy cheap coins now, and as soon as BTC withdrawal is possible -> bank run (gox run). I don't think they will allow this in some way or another (e.g some "communication"
46  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am Satoshi Nakamoto on: February 11, 2014, 02:30:44 PM
this thread DEFINITELY contains epic-ness... Cool
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happened at Asia Nexgen? on: February 10, 2014, 12:58:28 PM
Holy shit! 53% of market share overnight! And at 20$ / bitcoin ?  Shocked
Those coins sold so low will be transferred and dumped onto western exchanges. I'm not buying back anytime soon.

Arbitrage all the way...now is indeed not the time to buy back (yet)
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: One More Piece of Bad News on: February 10, 2014, 07:15:01 AM
Bieber coin!

Don't give anyone stupid ideas  Grin
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: the state of gox -this is going on on mtgox right now on: February 09, 2014, 05:42:02 PM
very relevant, made me chuckle  Grin
50  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is why we have reached peak and Bitcoin maybe worth $1 on: February 09, 2014, 05:40:04 PM
Yes, the involvement of karhu will doom us all...

Seriously, seems like this forum, and then especially the speculation section can't do without it's flashy / ridiculous (select one that applies) "powerwords"
Just drop some randomly generated words, and everyone will take you seriously, it seems  Wink
51  Economy / Speculation / Re: One More Piece of Bad News on: February 09, 2014, 12:51:25 PM
With the recent arrests, Apple removing blockchain app, and Mtgox melting down....we just need 1 more piece of bad news to get cheap, sub-$500 bitcoins.

Come on guys, more bad news and FUD for cheap bitcoins!

contact Proudhon for bad news confirmations, always accurate!  Shocked
52  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: MtGox's Monday announcement on: February 09, 2014, 12:50:07 PM
No outcome will be bullish, that is for sure.

if they resume BTC withdrawals again, price will jump to bitstamp+200 in minutes... there is massive USD on gox.

If they restart their withdrawals I reckon arbitrage will be big!
Indeed...people will convert their mt gox fiat to BTC; just to be able to withdraw easily in BTC -> price spike
53  Economy / Speculation / Re: MT GOX. potential update tomorrow. Thoughts on this and how it effects bitcoin? on: February 09, 2014, 12:48:07 PM
BTC withdrawal could cause a bank run though...
1) Increased price by people dumping the fiat into BTC --> price goes up
2) Withdrawing the newly bought BTC --> should not affect price
54  Economy / Speculation / Re: Forbes: "$10: One Perspective On What Bitcoin Will Be Worth In 2014" on: February 09, 2014, 12:46:29 PM

Does it not bother you guys that 47 people own a third of the bitcoins?

Not very decentralized to me.

Bitcoin has greater wealth distribution than the rest of the economy. Guess it all depends on what you compare it to.

Yes, greater wealth distrubution; but you can't deny the fact that it favors the early adopters (like almost everyhting in life does, though.)
55  Economy / Speculation / Re: i put almost all my money and lost a lot on: February 09, 2014, 12:44:43 PM
it's the panic selling that's generating your losses...I remember a time ( Grin) when I bought some additional BTC at +- 150 USd, only to see it crashing shortly after. I also experienced pressure to sell at that time, but I stood ground and didn't. Do everything with reason, and you can't go wrong
56  Economy / Speculation / Re: prices are falling on declining volumes.... on: February 09, 2014, 12:40:01 PM
This next week is going to be very interesting, as the Chinese go back to work and the money starts moving again.
MTGox needs to die, which it possibly will do by the end of the week, and a lot of bitcoins will start moving into the other exchanges. A clever US company could use this time to ramp up their exchange services! ;-)

The most interesting element of the current issues is how the value of the alt coins have barely moved.

Litecoin has hardly moved and neither has Nxtcoin, which makes me think that we are definitely entering a more mature market in 2014.

Bitcoin is not a market for anyone with money they can't afford to lose! ;-)

Agreed. I believe that next week will be very interesting. A mt gox bank run will be most likely happening, and chinese may/may not resume trading. Exciting days ahead, one way or the other.

58  Economy / Securities / Re: Peerbet.org | Invest | 1% Dice / 3.2% Wheel of Fortune | BTC & Altcoins on: February 07, 2014, 09:13:58 AM
Commission is currently taken only on Divest.
We added an indicator on both the Dice & Wheel pages for site profit.
The stats are updated on every page refresh.
Losses/gains are accounted for automatically with every bet.
There is no emergency withdraw address, but I guess we can implement it. Would love to hear how it should work?

Thanks for the info.I have invested a small sum as test. Concerning the withdrawal address: I know Just-dice has it implemented (don't know if it really works though  Grin) I guess it works like a kill switch....If a command / mail is sent; all remaining deposits are sent to the accounts...
59  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin Cat! on: February 06, 2014, 09:15:08 PM

Actually, I have some more questions:

* I only see amount invested, no loss / gain indicators
* Are the stats only updated once every xxx time?
* How and when are losses / gains accredited?
* IS there an emergency witdhrawal address, if everything goes down the drain, (site seized, etc..)
