So here is a Q about the vote for coin on https://acc.vicex.io/acc/listing

Some of the coins have over 500+ votes... So what gives?

Their miners community is probably more eager to get on additional exchanges. As I see it now ROI 250 pool miners (200 miners on supernova and 50 on optiminer make 110KH). Additional wallet miners make 20K, which could be anywhere around 50-100 miners. With 300-350 miners is not a large number and that's why we have just 132 votes (most of us probably voted several time).

We realistically need more advertisements to attract CPU miners worldwide as everyone can mine on CPU. Maybe my numbers are off but more push is definitely needed. It will raise votes, coin price and expand community. Just my 2 cents.

I ment that is it not 200 and the coin gets listed on xxx day. How come some are well over that?

I see. Based on: "every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, according to the voting results, one coin passes into the Planned. Minimum votes need to be 200. " Those above 200+ votes should be in Planned category. You're right. I wanted to ask them using Chat option but they're off until Monday ("VICex will be back on Monday").

coinspool still on 1.1.3, any plans when to upgrade Huh

cheers

I suggest people (all  3 of them  Grin ) to stop mining on coisnpool as it's no longer on the right chain. I also suggested devs to remove coinspool from the list of available pools.

My wallet is not synchronizing with network. Last block on my wallet is 68991 and network block is over 69139.
I deleted all data from wallet folder except wallet.dat and ROIcoin-qt_x64_v1140.exe, resynched from scratch and still nothing.
Anybody have the same problem ?

Well there's a problem at the moment and you need to stop all mining and sending/receiving/term-depositing coins and sit tight and wait for the dev team to release the info and a fix.

We had an unexpected fork due to a variance in calculation. We have had this happen before and had already added a batch of code to prevent the problem however this time the variation exceeded the amount we had coded for. We are working on a better fix to prevent any size variation from causing this issue.

Bear with us we are on it.

Wow!  That was amazingly quick.Awesome job.

I see wallet 1.1.6 is out. Beside moving to
a new wallet, can we resume mining in pools?

Where did you get that version of wallet 1.1.5 ?
I have 1.1.4 downloaded from https://roi-coin.com

You can get iut from here:

https://github.com/ROIcoin/ROIcoin/releases/tag/v1.1.5.000

Devs are working on unexpected fork. They changed wallet number on block explorere yesterday to 1.1.5 but 1.1.6 will be coming out now. They JUST changed it again but no link yet.

Just sit tight untyil they provide more details.

I am not sure if this helps but I am running wallet 1.1.5 and it's perfectly synced with block explorer. I'm mining on supernova and I am getting coins from it. At least the last batch of 50 was deposited in my wallet 1 hour ago.

It seems that more and more antivirus applications are recognizing wallet or miners as virus/malware/suspicious behaviors.

Maybe someone knowledgeable can advise why is that. What is so specific making it a problem, use of CPU resources?

I am getting tired of every time telling TrendMicro that wallet or hodlminer are not a problem. I restore it and make it whitelisted but after an update, I have to do it again.

Is there anything that  can be done for pool miner app or wallet app not to be recognized as malware?

Need help for my friend.
When he is trying to deposit his coins he has an error: Transaction is too large. He's trying to deposit 2500 ROI for exmaple.
What can be the reason?

Is he using coin control and selecting a lot of inputs that puts him over the byte limit?

Even without coin control enabled, I seem to recall having the same issue with lots of small inputs from optiminer.pl being used in the transaction.   Switched to suprnova to get larger deposits and that helps with this issue.

Perhaps try to send smaller amounts since you likely have many, many inputs to reach 2500 coins.

I wish I can attach picture but I can't do it yet as I'm not full member, yet.

It's very easy solution.

When you click on Deposit -> Inputs and you select coins, there will be number of bytes in RED (bytes)  This number HAS to be less than 100000.

Didnt understand what are you talking about.

I assumed that you had coin control feature turned on. Sorry.

This is the right procedure:

Open wallet go to Settings -> Options -> Wallet -> Enable coin control features -> OK

Then, you click on Deposit -> Inputs and you select coins, there will be number of bytes in RED (bytes)  This number HAS to be less than 100000.

Why is not profitable? Yes, the pool hasrate is low and less blocks are found. However the found blocks are shared by less miners. Am I missing something here?
1 block ~ $0.05. 12 Hours - 2 blocks .  5 miners - 6 KH. Definitely it's profitable but for electricity company Smiley
Just right now, Opti get almost whole mining power. After CoinsPool fix their DNS issue, situation will change probably.

It might be slightly challenging for some people to change the way they mine but Coinspool is working fine if you use their IP instead of DNS name.

Coinspool web site is accessible this way   http://45.77.223.74

There are 8 people mining at the moment:  http://45.77.223.74/workers_roicoin

As I wrote yesterday,  instead of using:

hodlminer.exe -q -a hodl -o stratum+tcp://stratum.coinspool.cu.cc:3042 -u mywalletaddress -p x

USE

hodlminer.exe -q -a hodl -o stratum+tcp://45.77.223.74:3042 -u mywalletaddress -p x

It seems that miners didn't pick it up, but Coinspool pool is available for mining using IP address, instead of DNS address.

I hope nicehash won't jump there right away  Roll Eyes but for the rest of fellow miners, you can use command like this:

hodlminer.exe -t 10 -q -a hodl -o stratum+tcp://45.77.223.74:3042 -u mywalletaddress -p x

Again, instead of using:

hodlminer.exe -q -a hodl -o stratum+tcp://stratum.coinspool.cu.cc:3042 -u mywalletaddress -p x

USE

hodlminer.exe -q -a hodl -o stratum+tcp://45.77.223.74:3042 -u mywalletaddress -p x

If you do not hicehash block, then the coin will have no future.

And how do you work that out? A up to date CPU can get 800-1000 hs on this coin if set up correct.

That will get you around 400-700 coins a day with the hash that is on the network at the min. The nice hash miners do not seem to be dumping all the coins they mine. Most new coins that have nice hash on them get all mined coins dumped. Thats not happening.

So how do you work out the coin will have no future? Thats like looking at Magi (XMG) and saying it has no future because it has nice hash miners on it. Yet Magi is doing very well even when the more hash that is put on magi the less coins it will pump out over each block. Yet more and more hash is put on to magi.

Anyone can mine this coin and make more coins. That is the point in ROI even someone who has just 100hs with 130kh on the network can make 17-20 coins a day depositing them for 12 months with the 15% APR ontop will make the miner from 135 to 161 coins a day with just 100hs. The point in ROI is to get a return on investment and even the smallest of investment will get a nice return no matter how small it is.

The guy with 70KH on the pool at the min has invested his own money to mine. He has got at this point 68876 from his hash on the pool. This is his ROI. He can dump them on a exchange and sell them to get some money back or he can keep them and deposet them to get even more coins from his investment.

Roi is one of the very few ALT coins out there that is on exchanges and yet there is not a large supply of coins on the exchange.

Cryptohub has just 53896 coins
CoinsMarked (once back online) has just 90960

Thats just 144,856 coins for a coin that is just 4 months old that is nothing. Miners are hodling the coin. Not dumping the coin. This will push value of the coin up because the demand is good. And the supply is low.

You can always invest more in the coin if you wish. With nicehash or you could get more systems to mine the coin.

But in no way is nicehash going to kill this coin. If anything its going to help the coin gain value and a much needed supply to buy on exchanges.

Maybe you would care to elaborate how you think nicehash will make this coin have no future?

Raster.

The Raster, I think he claimed exactly the opposite or he claimed the same you said:

"If you do not hicehash block, then the coin will have no future."

Just FYI, I use iPhone app called Blackfolio to track all my coins and ROI is not on their list. They have over 2000 coins listed.

Just a few minutes ago I joined their Telegram group and asked them about it. I was not sure howROI can be added. After giving them Bitcointalk.org address, block exploreres and coin exchange address they answered.

Their answer was:" We'll put ROI on our to do list.  If ROI gets listed anywhere else, please let us know."

It would be great if ROI gets listed on it!

Glad to hear it!

You can know one thing for sure... the ROI dev team does not want the coin to have any issues and especially an emergency issue such as this. But the reality is there have been a few issues and of course this most recent problem. All I can say is know this, while the community eats dinner, gets a good nights rest, etc. many nights now the ROI dev team is wide awake drinking coffee, discussing matters, writing code and testing. The ROI dev team cannot promise you there will never be any issue but what we can promise you is that we are fully dedicated and committed to do the very best we can to address any problems as quickly and professionally as possible!

I have to admit that I am impressed with commitment of ROI dev's. They are always accessible and working hard to have everything working flawlessly. Thank you for all your hard work.

Houston we have a problem!

A quick check in console for getchaintips...

It looks like both pools have forked the coin and are moving way ahead on a branch that is not active.

Good to know. I'll stop mining in a pool right away until Houston gets it fixed.

I think it's a problem with my wallet. After sync i am on block 48539 and both pools (coins pool and optiminer) are on 48600
How can i resolve this ?
How many connections do you have?
Click Help -> Debug Window

I have the same minutes ago. I have just restartet the wallet and all is fine again.

Now i have the same.
Wallet will not sync to peers. I'm connected to 10 peers.
And i see a lot of these messages in debug.log:

Yeah 1.5kh from you and 150kh-200KH on the ROICoin network.

The more hash on the network the less coins anyone will get on any pool or solo mining.

The network hash was around 150-200kh when you mined that pool and you stated that you got 260 coins in 12 hours. So you can take it if the network hash was 75-100kh you would have made around 520 coins. But if the network hash was 300-400kh you would have made around 130 coins. More hash on the network = less coins for each miner. Less hash on the network meens more coins for each miner.

Got it! Another new information that I learned. Thanks for help TheRaster

Optiminer Mining Pool for ROIcoin is now available!

http://roi.optiminer.pl:8081/

Point your hodlminer to stratum+tcp://roi.optiminer.pl:5000:
./hodlminer -o stratum+tcp://roi.optiminer.pl:5000 -u ROIADDR -p x

Will you publish the pool software at github? So others can setup a roi coin mining pool also.

That would be nice its one way to make ROI and hodl wanted more.

After running Optiminer pool for 12 hours with Hashrate of 1.5 kH/s, I made 260 coins. It can give other miners some information what to expect.

Thats with network hash at 150-200kh right?

No, that's with 1500 h/s (or 1.5 kh/s).
