DERO May Monthly update: https://forum.dero.io/t/dero-monthly-update/446/3

Summary

Atlantis Update:
Following blockchain technologies has been implemented in Atlantis:

DERO-DAG(Directed Acyclic Graph): DERO Atlantis will be DERO-DAG based. DERO-DAG is mineable, POW based, fully linear with same level of security as blockchain.
No orphans, scalability limits defined by resources(Compute, Network, Storage etc.)

Client Protocol: It handles same transactions mined by two different miners in different blocks mostly due to luck/Network lag.

Bulletproofs: Smaller transaction sizes for CryptoNote Protocol.

Ultra Compact Blocks: Faster block propagation times and low network usage.

Core progress on track.
Explorer, wallets too are being re-written to handle Atlantis.

In another 15 days Atlantis will be released for alpha-tests and Hopefully before next monthly update we would be on Atlantis.

We have invested lot in chain splits and attacks. we are in comfort zone from 10 -> 400 MHs.
Every part of DERO chain is written from scratch by us, Hope not to see any such issues.
Official pool went stuck due to other issues.

How will miners be able to mine the new algorithm? Will there be a fork of xmr-stak similar to IPBC?

All information and details would be released much before any changes or upgrades.

I want to send to the transaction platform address how to send command code what is it?

After creating wallet, Use option 5 to transfer/send DERO to another address:

I am trying to deposit Dero to Stocks.Exchange but when I input the the withdrawal address in the wallet, it says "checksum failed". Any help pleaseeeeeeeee!?

can you paste the screenshot of the above situation.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DERO FIRST SSL BLOCKCHAIN: CryptoNote Privacy + Smart Contracts on: May 03, 2018, 05:39:38 AM
Dero is all ASICs right now.. until they release their update in like a month. Until then all we can do is cheerlead from the side lines an hope they fork to cryptonight v7 (cuz i have rx rigs and rx cards got a bump in hashrate from cryptonight to cryptonight v7 lol) Tongue

I think with the Atlantis release Dero will provide the world with a new Cryptonight protocol, might not even be called Cryptonight any more. Not some existing variant of Cryptonight for sure.  But the devs keep their cards close to their chest so I am just guessing like every one else of you on here....

As many CryptoNote/other blockchains are under attack and panic mode. Right now everyone should focus on increasing the security, resiliency and integrity of blockchain technologies.
DERO is still strong against such attacks and Atlantis is being worked to be secure and resilient against such threats.
Attacks have contributed lot in learning process.

I didn't see any mention of PoS or master nodes or escrow nodes. How are they going to do smart contracts and escrow without a robust network of dedicated nodes? Miners will run away once another coin offers better ROI - and for a chain that offers actual and sustained utility and services tacked on, a sudden drop in mining power could be a disaster.

Or am I wrong?

You have raised very valid and critical point. Critical services can't wait if hash power drops or so, We are already in discussion and have plans for this situation.
You are more than welcome to join forum https://forum.dero.io/  for more discussion.

Yeah, I did that, which is why I quoted your previous post.

EDIT - I just closed and reopened the daemon to confirm this behavior persists and that I am running the correct version; yes to both.

Can you confirm the Latest Version 1.0.4-alpha.14+30042018
Use version command.

I literally just did that in anticipation of your request hence the edit to my previous post. But just to forestall any further argument I did it yet again using the version command in the daemon and it says 1.0.4-alpha.12+30042018.

I hate to be overly redundant here, but it seems necessary to point out for the 3rd time that I followed your directions precisely and the daemon is stuck, anyway. Oh, and yes, I am running it as an administrator. One other datum that may or may not be relevant: I did not delete the existing blockchain files, but you didn't say we needed to.

Your version shows 1.0.4-alpha.12+30042018 . Latest is 1.0.4-alpha.14+30042018 , Difference of two updates.

Everyone Pls update to latest DERO daemon:
Download from http://seeds.dero.io/alpha/
Version v1.0.4-alpha.12+30042018
HardFork block Height 68600 (~2 hrs from now)

Pool operators must sync time also from ntp:
apt install ntpdate
ntpdate -s us.pool.ntp.org

It increases NW security.

Is the daemon supposed to stall at 68600 while the network block height is at 68637 and climbing?

Can you confirm the  Latest Version 1.0.4-alpha.14+30042018

Everyone update now especially pool operators  http://seeds.dero.io/alpha/
Pls sync time also from ntp:
apt install ntpdate
ntpdate -s us.pool.ntp.org

I have updated, getting the time errors (Block timestamp is too far into future) despite syncing with an ntp server using a Windows utility for this (Advanced Time Synchronizer)

EDIT: Errors have stopped; blockchain is synced

Normal, Its ok.

Personally I used stocks.exchange several times before. NEver had any issues. Withdrawals always processed within 5-10 mins. Just always withdraw your coins to a personal wallet which you control the private key for.

I just bit the bullet and opened an account at stocks.exchange to sell Dero there.

However the Dero wallet is shown as disabled.  Is this the case for all account owners or is it just me?  Are Dero accounts disabled for new users or something like that?  How do I get this resolved?

Asked them to disable DERO wallet. Wallets will be back in another 6-8 hrs.

If I buy some $Dero where do I store them as I don't like leaving precious things in other people's bags?
Please I'd love a reply to this and a quick one

Download pre-compiled DERO binaries for ARM, INTEL, MAC platform and Windows, Mac, Solaris, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Linux etc. Operating systems from:
http://seeds.dero.io/alpha/
Pls save your seed safely.

Choose Option 2 to create new wallet OR Choose Option 3 to restore wallet from old seed:

Trying to sync for day with no luck on win10 64bit using dero_windows_amd64.zip   2018-04-14
done that several times: restarted dimond , deleted blockchain.

Please make possible to download chaindata directly http://seeds.dero.io/data.mdb was removed

Please Help I have a lot of money stack in my wallet.

It sounds like you have latest version from here: http://seeds.dero.io/alpha/

So once you have the new data downloaded for the blockchain you shouldn't have to download it again. We will look into adding a download in the future again
Hו,
Yep using latest ver. Trying to sync for days started all over at least 5 times. Each time sync process stacks at some point between 40% to 80% with different errors. Restarting diamond doesn’t help.
Please post full chaindata for direct download.

No chaindata is available for direct download.
Paste screenshot of status, sync_info and version cmd.

You have already mitigated the issue, correct? When can we expect a release of that info? I am assuming (maybe incorrectly) that this was a Dero specific issue or are other coins effected? If there are others I'm also assuming you have notified the other cryptonote teams?

I have been watching the progress on this project and the more I look into it the more it interests me.

Thanks @Hueristic for your interest. Hope we can exceed your and many other expectations.
Pls also check PM.

Would the developers mind commenting if they had anything to do with Dero being added to Tradeogre?

We have nothing to do with that perhaps some member on slack/discord applied there.

Hi. I have a problem. I know my DERO wallet. I know my password from the wallet, but I do not know 25 words. I have wallet.db and file wallet.keys. But for me it's hard to use it on the command line. I do not understand where to go. I downloaded the entire blockchain / Help please

You can access the seed if you log into your wallet

Ok/ Now i know Wallet adress/ Wallet Password/ Wallet seeds/ But i not know where mine correct file wallet.db/ What can i do with it?

Pls see comprehensive thread for wallet recovery https://forum.dero.io/t/how-to-restore-a-dero-wallet-from-your-seed-keys/119
Everything is in current directory, DERO doesn't touch any files outside current directory where you downloaded and extracted.
Use option 3 to recover wallet from seed.

now i sure what i have correct wallet.db file(with balance). And have file wallet.keys but seed i not know. i know adress wallet and password, i acces in old cli in mine account, but i cant download blockhain for it, old derod.exe doestn work. in new cli i not have acces...

OLD C daemon/wallet is not supported anymore.
See following steps to :
1] Use seed cmd in your old wallet to get your seed.
2] Download latest alpha release from http://seeds.dero.io/alpha/  and start derod*.
3] In another terminal or cmd-prompt, Run dero-wallet-cli* and restore wallet using option-3 via old seed or create new wallet.

Pls paste screenshot of above steps if still any errors.
