41  Economy / Goods / SOLD OUT - [WTS] Kingston DataTraveler 4GB flash drives in bulk quantity on: August 06, 2011, 05:46:45 PM

All 50 have been claimed now, sold out!

We have a huge pile of Kingston DataTraveler 4GB flash drives. They're very fast, reliable and cheap. Newegg is currently sold out of them but they usually sell for $8/ea.

Ours have been used during a server build out project, where we had to boot some servers up for testing before we had "real storage" installed on them.

In total, they were reformatted and had an OS installed on them, ran for 2-3 weeks this way, then securely wiped and reformatted back to being empty. None have reported any errors at all. They have a manufacturer warranty for 5 years. I have no reason to believe there is anything wrong with these drives, and guarantee they won't be DOA, but they are being sold AS-IS because of the low price.

Retail new price is $8, I will sell for:

Qty 10: 3BTC plus 0.2BTC shipping to anywhere in US/Canada  (3.2BTC total)
Qty 50: 12BTC plus free shipping to anywhere in US/Canada  (12BTC total)

If you buy all 50, that works out to about $1.85 per drive, or about 77% off retail price.

If you're interested, please send me a PM. I'm happy to answer any questions publicly.

Updated price in the original post - I'll honor that price for the next 24 hours regardless of where the market moves.

+1
im running an asus HD5770 cucore, gettin 220Mhash with core@980
seller didnt push it to its limits, they do 200Mhash very easely!

Yeah, I was trying not to oversell their capabilities in case someone else wasn't as lucky as I was. You can probably get quite a bit higher than what I said in the original post, but I never pushed it to see where it stayed stable.

to OP: try to make the title a bit more clear, i was under the impression that it was in fact a single slot (including cooler) card, like you were Wink
dont wanna confuse any potential buyers

Good point, rephrased in the title.
44  Economy / Goods / FS: Unopened XFX 5770 cards (sold out) on: July 30, 2011, 07:15:58 PM
I have 9 of these cards, unopened, brand new, still in their original boxes:

Why do I have 9 of them unopened? They were sold to us as being "single slot" cards. Which they are, in that they only take up one opening on the back of your case. They do however take up two slots worth of space on the motherboard. (i.e. they're double wide cards, but they only fill one slot hole on the case) This is great for filling up that last opening on your case, but didn't work for what we were planning to use them for. We opened some up, realized it wasn't what we thought it was, and decided to leave the rest in their original boxes.

One that we did open gets about 185Mhash/sec using cgminer with stock clocks. Overclocking gets around 202Mhash/sec. (People in posts below report getting much higher, we didn't push it hard.) Requires just a single 6-pin power cable.

9 available. 0 left now. 9.5BTC each. Or if you don't mind taking one of the cards that's already been opened (all tested and do work, but we did open and play with them for a while) you can have them for 8BTC each.

Free shipping within the US. Amazon is currently selling them for $134. Send me a PM here if you're interested.

Updated first post to show quantities left, and lowered the prices to hopefully tempt someone into clearing out what I have left. Smiley

Code:
def selectsharesResponse(response, args):
    log_msg('Calling sharesResponse for '+ args)
    func_map= {'bitclockers':bitclockers_sharesResponse,
        'mineco':mineco_sharesResponse,
        'mtred':mtred_sharesResponse,
        'bclc':bclc_sharesResponse,
        'bitclockers':bitclockers_sharesResponse,
        'btcg':btcguild_sharesResponse}

Bitclockers is defined twice here. Not hurting anything, but might cause a bug down the road if only one of them gets changed.

Something is extremely wrong with OSX. Its saying its executing kernels, but then not, and then doesn't emit any errors.

DM will wildly spin like that when kernels take zero time to execute. Problem is, the implementation MUST emit errors.

I so very much hate OSX.

Do you have access to a Mac? If not, would you like remote access to one to play with?
48  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: DiabloMiner GPU Miner (Long Poll, BFI_INT, and never fail async networking) on: July 09, 2011, 02:32:24 AM
I read back for the last few pages and don't see anyone reporting this, if it's already been mentioned sorry!

I'm trying this on OS X 10.7, with both a 5870 and 5770 in the same Mac Pro. I know the Mac OpenCL implementation is pretty bad for this stuff, but I'm seeing something kinda weird with the latest binary.

It seems to think that my system is producing many ghash/sec. As awesome as this would be if it were true, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say something is wrong.

I get:

Code:
[7/8/11 9:25:31 PM] Using Apple OpenCL 1.1 (Jun 14 2011 23:31:14)
[7/8/11 9:25:31 PM] Added ATI Radeon HD 5770 (#1) (10 CU, local work size of 256)
[7/8/11 9:25:32 PM] DEBUG: Enabling long poll support
[7/8/11 9:25:32 PM] Added ATI Radeon HD 5870 (#2) (20 CU, local work size of 256)

Followed by 3-10 "Forcing getwork update due to nonce saturation" messages per second. When I finally get it displaying stats, I see:

mhash: 16830.9/14640.1 | a/r/hwe: 0/0/0 | ghash: 223.2 612.6 | fps: 160.1

It does appear to be doing SOME work, since I'm getting occasional blocks accepted by the server, but not nearly enough for the speeds it thinks it's doing. The "ghash" counter seems to repeatedly jump in large movements, then go back to normal incrementing.

I've tried enabling just one card at a time, and the results are pretty much the same.  Anyone seen anything like this?

Looking at the escrow, it seems Kevin dumped the money before MtGox even reopened. Can't tell if he took it out for himself, or sent it to the BTC Faucet...
I realize the escrow page is a little hard to read, but the money is still in the escrow account. If Gavin is reading this, it'd be awesome if he could confirm that publicly for me.

Oh. I was just wondering what the "Release request made on June 21, 2011" was about. When I was using the escrow, the "release date" was then the money was allowed to be transferred to the address listed.

I posted the link to the escrow page in public, which was really meant to only be shared with the other party in a private transaction. The moment I made the post here, someone clicked the "Request that the funds be released now" button, which is why it's saying that.

51  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How do you cool 4 Cards, all bouble slot? on: July 06, 2011, 06:06:51 PM
I'm really not trying to spam anyone, and I encourage anyone to grab these anywhere they can find them, but the tiny risers I found make about a 6C difference by staggering the heights of the cards. By letting more air move around the cards, and letting some of them directly suck in more air by being higher than their neighbors, it works really well. It's harder to use if you're using a traditional case because the cards can't be screwed down then, but it made a big difference for me.
52  Economy / Goods / Re: FS: PCI-E risers for extreme cooling, SATA->PCI-E power cables, OMFG FAN on: July 04, 2011, 02:13:55 AM

oooo PriceChecked!.

Fans off newegg would cost a total of $15 S+H.Incld.
.....
You want 1btc for fan without S+H...

Note that I said that I had some leftover stuff that I was trying to sell, not saying that I had pricing and shipping contracts that were better than Newegg has. Smiley

I paid more than that for the fans (Newegg was out when I went shopping), had to pay shipping for it to get here to me, plus i'm throwing in shipping if you buy 3. I'm just trying to get close to what I paid total for this stuff, plus what it'll cost to send out. At the moment 1BTC = $15.43, so we're not exactly talking a huge difference here between this and the prices you found.

I'm also accepting bitcoins, which Newegg isn't.  Grin

By all means buy from somewhere cheaper if you can find it, but if you have bitcoins in your pocket right now and want any of this stuff, I'll hook you up.

53  Economy / Goods / Re: FS: PCI-E risers for extreme cooling, SATA->PCI-E power cables, OMFG FAN on: July 03, 2011, 05:17:57 PM
Size? Im buying one, please resverve one for me.
(80mm 100mm etc)

Oh sorry, I can't believe I didn't mention that. The fans are 120mm.
54  Economy / Goods / Re: FS: PCI-E risers for extreme cooling, SATA->PCI-E power cables, OMFG FAN on: July 03, 2011, 12:26:29 AM
I'm interested in the fan as well please tell me you have more than one

I have 8 leftovers right now, and can check on getting more from our distributor if you need more than that, but I'd have to check on pricing.

55  Economy / Goods / Re: FS: PCI-E risers for extreme cooling, SATA->PCI-E power cables, OMFG FAN on: July 03, 2011, 12:16:15 AM
Most definitly intrested in the fan, Could you give More info on it please?

It claims 133.6 cubic feet per minute of air, 45.9 dBA of noise, and 0.6A of 12V current. It uses a 3 pin motherboard power connector, with 300mm of cable (roughly 12") as well as a molex -> fan power adapter. It comes with screws, too.

It is ridiculously heavy. I'm pretty sure it could snap a pencil while spinning, it's got that much torque.

The best fan I was able to find prior to this one was approximately 70CFM.
56  Economy / Goods / FS: PCI-E risers for extreme cooling, SATA->PCI-E power cables, OMFG FAN on: July 03, 2011, 12:08:08 AM
Hey, guys. I've been doing some experimenting with techniques to make mining rigs easier to build and cooler. I found some products that worked for me, and want to offer them to everyone here.

This is a short PCI-E riser. Put one of these in a PCI-E slot, then put the card in the riser. This allows more airflow between the card and the motherboard. It's tall enough to add roughly 3/4" additional space, but short enough to stay sturdy.

On one of my systems with 4 6950s, using these to stagger the height of every other card, the overall temps of all 4 cards dropped around 6C, which allowed another 8% overclock.

0.35BTC each, I have about 20 left.

This is a pretty rare PCI-E power adapter, letting you use a SATA power connector from your power supply instead of the annoying old style Molex connectors. Converts a single SATA power connector to a 6-pin PCI-E connector. Don't fight with splitters or poorly fitting connectors, these slip in and lock securely.

0.30BTC each, I have about 30 left.

Very high quality dual molex to dual 6 or 8-pin PCI-E connectors.

0.30BTC each, I have about 10 left.

This is the craziest case fan I have ever seen. I plugged it in to give it a test before screwing it down, and the torque from the motor made it jump across my desk. It's heavy, well built and moves more air than I thought possible. 2 or 3 times the airflow of the previous "high performance" fans I bought, and roughly 5x the CFMs of the best fan that the local computer parts store sells. I bought more than I ended up needing, because they worked so well.

1BTC each. I have 8 now, can maybe get more. SOLD OUT

Free shipping with orders of 3BTC or more to anywhere in the world. Send me a PM here if you're interested in any of this. I'll ship immediately after receiving payment.

I'm happy to answer any questions, or take any pictures/measurements to see if they'd work for you.

57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making it public: I have moved the disputed 643.2771 BTC into an escrow account on: June 21, 2011, 09:32:09 PM
Correct. I can't just run off with it now, sell it or anything like that. If the coins are actually "stolen" and it's even possible for them to be considered "stolen" in a case like this, they're being held by an uninterested third party right now. I want everyone to move past this point so we can figure out what really happened in the much larger picture. Whose account actually was compromised and why, how we are going to proceed, etc.

58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making it public: I have moved the disputed 643.2771 BTC into an escrow account on: June 21, 2011, 09:06:34 PM

1) I press the release button and donate them to the Bitcoin Fountain

I think the word you're grepping for here is "Faucet."

Can you tell I've barely slept for two days? Smiley

Edited original post to look smarter than I am.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Making it public: I have moved the disputed 643.2771 BTC into an escrow account on: June 21, 2011, 08:58:58 PM
The 643.2771BTC I withdrew from Mt Gox before trading was halted has been used to question my motives. To try to prove my intentions, I have moved the entire balance to an escrow account at Clearcoin:

https://clearcoin.appspot.com/status/r_H5PyEWwb5wEa8RTbrMTY8k

I cannot retrieve them for a month now. The options are:

1) I press the release button and donate them to the Bitcoin Faucet

2) The FBI accepts "Kevin logged in within 15 minutes of the attacker" as enough evidence to arrest me and seize my wallet as evidence and/or I end up convicted and the FBI buys some new socks and night lights for the whole office with the balance.

3) One month from now, when things have calmed down and I am obviously not arrested, they'll be returned to me and hopefully by then we will have determined their rightful home.

It would be an incredible show of faith if Mt Gox would volunteer to do something similar, but I'm not making this demand off them.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm Kevin, here's my side. on: June 21, 2011, 07:22:38 PM
It's rational if you realize you're going to be caught anyway. Did he come forward before he thought he'd be tracked down, or after? Seemed like after to me.

He came forward within minutes (lets call it an hour or two so I'm not later called a liar) of this all going down, directly to the owner of MtGox via IRC.  At that time it was attempted to keep things a bit quiet on the public side for obvious reasons.

Chat logs will confirm this, should it ever come to that.

This was also mentioned in the OP.

To play devil's advocate here for a moment, Let's say Kevin did do it. (not that I am, mind.) He could have, after realizing his mistake that he could not withdraw all the funds and that the largest amount of it would still be in his account, Thinking on his feet, went to MT and said, 'Look! I stopped the hacker from getting all the bitcoins!'.

You can all take off your tin hats now. Wink There are inconsistencies in both stories, and I suspect the truth will only out once we get that third party auditor in there.

Days before this crash, I forwarded to MtGox my photo ID and proof of address, then used the very same account to make this buy. I never attempted to hide who I was from him.

Since I explained this poorly before, I'm stating this again: I was requesting that my Dwolla daily limit be raised, not my bitcoin daily limit. That's why the $1000 BTC limit was still present on my account.
