41  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Qt Bitcoin Trader [Open Source secure trading client for Mac/Windows/Linux] on: September 03, 2015, 07:13:42 PM
Is this the program bases for the andriod app that places coinbase trades?

What do you mean?

Coinbase is among the top 3 exchanges. Any time to add API support for it?  They certainly have professional-grade APIs already.

BTW, the old UI was much better: in one screen one was able to see both buy and sell prices to transact really quickly. Now, one has to to switch tabs between buy and sell. Please revert back to the old UI. It was SO much smarter!

Thanks!!

May I remind you of something called "HALVING" before going crazy on a purchasing spree?

July 2016 is 10 months or 300 days away.  Making this the perfect time to expand.  Since you should roi in 250 days with this gear.

So basically you are saying that this invested money to risk getting any actual profits only during the last 50 days before halving slays miners in half (not to mention the previous increased difficulty from those who jump in)? hmmm....Not sure if I'd call that 'perfect.'

I do have multiple S5 Antminers for hosting. You could start hashing in 24 hours or less.
PM if interested.

That is a million years away.  By the time halving arrives, each and every S7 will have long been tossed in the bin.  Miner lifetime is far shorter than that.

Stop jerking off your mind. Cheesy 10 months is not really an accurate equivalent to a million years. Regardless, you are actually adding to my own point: NO ROI in them!

I run multiple highly stable S5 for hosted mining with Lee. PM me if you are interested to buy them and cut you a good deal. Wink

Just clean after yourselves by buying some tree protection certificate from Standfortrees.org (or any similar organization of your choice) and stop trying to point fingers and not take your own responsibility with simple and reasonable actions. It doesn't hurt to simply help restore the environmental balance as a result of the enormous CO2 impact that results from bitcoin mining for example. Actions are always better than reading climate papers or participating in fruitless, theoretical debates.

50  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: June 03, 2015, 02:29:53 AM
My main issue is that the Trezor plugin for electrum fails to let me configure the "settings" button. I get this error when pressing that button in the Electrum wallet...

Code:
....in settings_dialog
    layout.addWidget(QLabel(" %s" % self.wallet.get_client().get_device_id()),1,1)....

AttributeError: 'QtGuiTrezorClient' object has no attribute 'bad'

It also fails to be detected on occasions even after plugging the Trezor in/out a few times and/or restarting the computer. I'd say it randomly detects the presence of Trezor

Electrum 2.1.1 or above (2.2) Trezor setting button works correctly on Linux and OSX - it provides you the serial number of the Trezor and allows you to change the nickname of the device. I have not tried the Windows version.  If the issue persists, report it on the Electrum subforum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=98.0.

Regarding the random detection, it is a known issue caused by a poor quality USB cable (like the one shipping with the Trezor). Try a different cable.

The issue I'm describing happens precisely with Linux. Will check in the referred thread. Thank you.

53  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.0 release on: April 05, 2015, 10:45:42 AM
OMG. Electrum 2.0 seems to be infested with bugs everywhere !  Mac, Windows, Linux. It doesn't matter.
I just tried to restore  a wallet using the Mac version and got this error:
Quote
"Python int too large to convert to C long."
Really?

54  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: April 05, 2015, 09:42:54 AM
Mytrezor.com shows a blank page. Yes, it had worked before in the same exact browser.

Electrum wallet with trezor plugin shows "exception: Timed out while waiting for the magic character"

Great. Now I'm stuck without being able to use my BTC!

Please help!

I might be interested to buy several S5 from anyone currently hosting with Lee if we reach a good price. Please PM me.

Thx.

I am running at full speed for now. i will watch it and see.   I kind of average my hosting costs and currently have miners in 4 places some cost more but I have some for .06 and some for .12.  I think this works out to
To about .10

Barbara

I personally think it's great that you are completely aware of the upside/downside of your mining operation because many people don't understand anything but you seem to be pretty well informed. That's great to hear. :-)  Godspeed. BTW, 0.12 is a bit pricey but I hope BTC bounces back soon as it has taken a hit lately.

Bicknellski, I really do not know what to say to you, but your mom should have a talk with you about judging others without knowing anything about them

This is the PM I just sent to Oregon Mines.

Okay here is the deal, I am beginning to feel you are gaming people.  You did send the contract finally two days after the bill.

It has several areas that I had questions on.  You have not replied to my questions.
Nor was the contract signed by you or did it indicate who would sign it.
Earlier today I asked for the service agreement to go with the contract.  There has been no reply.

I have asked why you sign messages as OM and not a real name. You have not replied.

As I have stated I will not make payment until every thing is signed and sealed

You are welcome to turn off my miner and cancel my order if you can not issue a valid contract that we can both enforce in court if needed.

Barbara

I am going to call BULLSHIT on nightshiftgirl.
Every god damn time a female username pops up on these forums its part of a scam.

She is 100% fake and the reason I say that is for the following facts:

1 - she is a female
2 - 67 years old
3 - her name is Barbara
4 - she is into bitcoin mining
5 - only 62 posts

Oregonmines are you ever trying???

For a second I thought I was reading "shemale"  and it quickly made my own mind go like "Wow! The percentage of world's shemale population at 67+ age into bitcoin mining but with only 62 posts definitely makes her/him quite special." :-)

Note to myself: read a bit more slowly...

I keep getting this message "Timed out while waiting for the magic character" after trying to send out BTC with Electrum 2.0 that has Trezor Plugin. Yes, I did enter the right passhprase/PIN and fee amount.

I didn't notice any server connectivity. It was showing as in sync and there didn't seem to be any apparent time out. It actually immediately popped after entering my PIN and all the inputs needed in the Send tab... In fact, changing the server and restarting didn't make any difference at all. If I tried to send again, it'd show either this:

"<class 'trezorlib.messages_pb2.PublicKey'>, expected (<class 'trezorlib.messages_pb2.Success'>,)"

Or this other error:

"Tag had invalid wire type"

Or this:

 "Unexpected end-group tag"

None minimally user friendly or at least a bit more explanatory.

Using this plug-in my Bitcoin is stuck...  :-/

I'm a bit confused...Should I only use the latest Electrum 2.0 wallet that says that it has Trezor Support or do I also require to install the code from the Trezor github as well?Huh? Any ideas to fix this?

Thanks

Hi,

I keep getting this message "Timed out while waiting for the magic character" after trying to send out BTC with Electrum 2.0. Yes, I did enter the right passhprase/PIN and fee amount.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Sounds like your connection to the Electrum server had a problem. Try closing and relaunching Electrum (or going to the Network options page and manually selecting a different server).

(I am not an Electrum developer)

Googling the error message shows that it is related to Trezor.

Ok. Mytrezor.com seems to be flawless and Trezor works great there. Perhaps it's the Trezor plug-in component for Electrum? The version I got was from the Electrum github and it seems to include Trezor support so not sure who actually developed that component. Where would it be the best place to report this?

(Edit: BTW, I found something else that might be an actual Electrum issue with 2.0 version --> I was able to hit Broadcast button twice (because I thought I hadn't clicked my mouse strong enough). There was no UI feedback at all the first time so then I just clicked on "Close" button afterwards only to find out that there were two tiny "Please wait..broadcasting" windows hidden in the background. So it seems that the wallet is not graying out/blocking duplicate broadcasting attempts correctly and secondly, the windows were very very tiny so I barely realized they were stacking up on top of each other...

I think this happened in the midst of an Internet connectivity issue I had....Hope this helps troubleshoot this additional issue I found).

This version seems to remain viciously buggy though:

Now my Bitcoin is stuck...  :-/
