41  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-10-05] Gavin Andresen: Bitcoin Core Won’t Make the Consensus Rules in the on: October 05, 2015, 02:38:47 PM
"Although many bitcoiners see Bitcoin XT as nothing more than a BIP 101 enabled software client, the implications of Mike Hearn’s creation go much deeper than that. While the alternative implementation of the Bitcoin protocol has not been able to gain wide acceptance among the Bitcoin mining community, the fact that this new Bitcoin client exists could potentially shake-up the payment network’s governance model. In fact, this may have been part of Bitcoin Foundation Chief Scientist Gavin Andresen’s reasoning for joining the project in the first place."

42  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 31, 2015, 06:50:11 PM
I don't know the other side of the story. I am judging by what is posted here and for the moment it seems that only dogie is complaining. Do you know the other side? You don't, but it seems that you made your judgement already without hearing the other side story.

I'm judging by what is posted here too, the fact that only dogie is complaining about not receiving his commision tends to suggest that he's the only one this has happened too.  Therefore its not a huge leap to assume that this may be personal based on the previous relationship.  Note that I said assume, I haven't made my mind up and Guy is welcome to join in and post the other side of the story.

There are others, but as their largest affiliate by quite a way I'm more likely to make noise than someone owed $100 who's forgotten about it. They also pulled the terms changing twice on me and less likely anyone else as I joined from day 0.

Hi Dogie,

I was in the top 3 affiliates for Spondoolies and have also participated in affiliate schemes for other mining hardware companies.

I wanted to get involved in the discussion on here to tell everyone about my experiences with the scheme: I wrote to Spondoolies in April of last year and asked if they had a system that was similar to the one run by Kncminer (Sell 10 miners, get a bonus) Gadi wrote back and explained that their affiliate scheme was slightly different and I was told about the 3 tiered system that meant that commission was increased at certain points (10% for conversions between $100,000 and $500,000 in one quarter) I quickly reached $500,000 worth of sales, however well before I reached that point, Gadi got in touch and said that unfortunately that was not sustainable for themselves and it would be a straight 5%. I was slightly disappointed, as anyone would be, but he'd got in touch before I reached the 10% and was completely honest about the situation.

Over the next few months I continued to make sales, and the team over at Spondoolies Tech were in constant communication with me, reaching out to tell me about new product launches, asking if I needed banners, chatting about conversions and asking about when I'd like to convert my commission into store credit so I could purchase hardware. When I decided to purchase hardware using my commission the process was simple and quick, there was no reluctance from Spondoolies to fulfil their "end of the bargain" unlike other companies I've dealt with.

To summarise my experience: Spondoolies were very honest with me, the communication and transparency was perfect and when it came to redeeming my commission the experience was simple and often very quick.

In total I earned over 10 machines from Spondoolies reseller scheme, some evidence included below.

We conducted an interview with Ghash, Bitmain and BTC China about mining predictions for 2015. I thought it may be of interest to people on here, particularly in light of CEX temporarily suspending cloud mining.

Amazing service from Spondoolies!

Ordered Thursday and the SP31 showed up in the UK on Friday. If it hadn't been for DHL needing to wait 24 hours after paying the customs fee I'd have been hashing within 24 hours, that must be a record!

Wall Street Journal:

"Tim Draper: I am pretty impressed that my bids that were 15% above the current market weren´t successful. However i am going to market buy those 50k on BTC-E, like NOW!"

http://online.wsj.com/articles/tim-draper-dissapointed-that-he-lost-the-second-auction-1417471759

Damn troll that link doesnt work Angry

But the word "disappointed" in the URL is misspelled.  A minimally self-respecting troll would not make that mistake. That detail strongly implies that the article was real and was written by a typical WSJ reporter.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 06, 2014, 10:23:22 AM
I wouldn't bother with "Bitcoinbrothers", it looks like another cookie cutter scam.

They claim their 16nm hardware will be ready for mass deployment in Q1 even though TSMC doesn't plan to begin mass production of 16nm until Q2.

They also claim to have had 20nm hardware since April but cannot provide any pics or a mining address. Seems we're supposed to believe they spent millions developing a badass 20nm ASIC yet never sold a single machine to anyone.

Here's what some germans have to say about them:

One of these guys used to post on the german forum section. Completely retarded, utter nonsense. Stay away from this.

They had promised much in the past (german sub forum), delivered (afaik) zero

Their website looks pretty amateurish for a company who claim to be developing 16nm tech.

I am loosing a ton of money but at least I feel alive.

well if you don't count the fact I was stabbed in the back by KNC on NO ROI TITAN scrypt miner (hey nun to porn star hard to protect against treachery)

anyway it has to dump below $150 usd for me to be hurting....but at this point it looks like my price is being 'stalked' so to speak

does not bode well

(curls back up into whimpering ball)
