Technically, where is the investment information i.e. address for sending BTC from counterwallet etc.?

It's listed on our website, but here it is for you, "12GZL7shupvmHapCmhw81GDa5GmaTqaZdk"

Quote
how many swarmcoins are given per 1 BTC?

Right now it's about 5000 coins per BTC.

Quote
what will be the max amount of swarmcoins? is there such a number?

100,000,000. It is a locked asset visible on Blockscan.

Quote
can one send XCPs or do you only accept BTCs?

We are sending out the information on XCP acceptance in our newsletter, scheduled to go out in one hour. Sign up here.

I like your concept BUT i dont like the fact that you value it, at this early stage @ 40k BTC (5000 per BTC and 100M coins) or 25 million dollars.  It will place you in the top 7 projects value wise with more value than your native host counterparty. does this make sense to you?  To me this isnt realistic with a pre-sale for a project that doesnt really exist yet but in theory

It makes sense for investors like me looking for a venture capital type investment but do not have the actual capital to ever get into that market. Super high risk. A new business with huge growth potential and a high chance of total flop. Its distributed capital for projects you and the community believe in. And even though they can't say it, folks who pay in are actually investing in a way as opposed to providing seed money in exchange for a token gift or early access (kickstarter).

For me, the meta concept is worth supporting even if this particular venture does not work out.

I am in. I have low expectations due in part to my natural skepticism and an ongoing experience with the colossal scamming culture of crypto.

Despite that, I have no problems with the way you plan to go about this. BTC is where my long shots go and I would never expect any kind of guarantee.

Don't pay vocal skeptics too much mind - investors are perfectly aware of every objection they bring up - just get to work on your dream.

Anyone get this to work on a Azure instance of Ubuntu? I can do it fine on Digital Ocean but get "Illegal instruction (core dumped)" with my Azure instance.
"

Nevermind - I got it to work with this sequence.

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install git make automake screen libcurl4-openssl-dev gcc build-essential

git clone https://github.com/Lucasjones/cpuminer-multi

cd cpuminer-multi

./autogen.sh

./configure CFLAGS="-O3"

make

screen -S minerd ./minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://mine.moneropool.com:3333 -u  -p x -t 1

55  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have .5 BTC, what mining hardware should I buy? on: May 25, 2014, 04:03:37 AM
My honest answer, as a basement miner, is to buy more bitcoin.

That is investment advice.

For fun though - nothing beats mining.

For x11 try this:

3x r270
Gigabyte GB-AM1M-S2H
AMD Sempron Kabini
750W PSU - best deal
4gb RAM -best deal
30 GB SSD - best deal
Total about BTC1.5

That is a pretty cheap 5.5 Mh/s X11 rig.  Also, I hear NVIDIA gear is good for X11 so you may do better there.

My guess is this will not pay for itself but it will be fun.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][X11] X11 (Darkcoin etc) miner (based on sph-sgminer) on: May 25, 2014, 03:39:13 AM
Thanks RRT5ON! Your work (and many others of course) is appreciated. Tx ID 6770c2ff7a0443c453d417923c9181ebc39d2549608172424a280ef180238699

Can any of you look at my configs and give any input for tweaking?

7970 2.84 Mh/s
Code:
-k x11mod --thread-concurrency 22400 -I 15 -w 256 -g 2 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1450 --gpu-powertune 20

270x 1.93 Mh/s
270 1.75 Mh/s
Code:
-k x11mod -I 15 -w 256 --gpu-threads 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1250 --gpu-powertune 20

7870 1.58 Mh/s
Code:
-k x11mod -w 64 -g 4 --thread-concurrency 6144 --gpu-engine 1200 --gpu-memclock 1250 --gpu-powertune 20 -I 15

And for thought. This is all just an arms race right? From CPU to optimized GPU to eventually application specific hashing. We are all compelled to keep up and the ratio of our work is essentially unchanged:)

Why did they stop staking and become spendable - can you explain how PoS works (beyond you get paid for holding on open wallet).

The 282 was a final manual payout from pc.pool. I got suspicious of PC and pointed my miner elsewhere.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]PinkCoin (PC) | [X11] 2day POW left+PoS | No premine | No IPO |bittrex.com on: May 07, 2014, 03:47:12 AM
How come you are staking POS if POW isn't over?

Quote
POW last: 20000 - 7 days POW only
POS generate after 10000 block
Block time: 30 seconds
POS Min age: 8 hours
POS Max age: unlimited

Its set to start generating after the 10,000th block. But its basically worthless with 2% yearly... even compounded 3 times a day.

Right, then how did I get 1000+ stake coins (5% of my total) out of nowhere. Must be some reason - a "mistake"

 Undecided

Did 1000 coins stake or did you mine 1000 coins? Screenshot?

See post #272 - that's me and so is this.

Something strange going on.

Is there a block explorer?
