41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: February 19, 2018, 10:15:08 AM
is storj safe because i try rent my hard drive space out to test how it go but i always get avg blocking threats that are coming from storj. it not a good thing to have happen so i not sure if this is safe to rent space? is this because people using the space try and store a virus on the hard drive space? or is it storj client doing this? right now i not sure if i continue with this but i like to know if other people renting out there space is getting these warnings from anti virus?

It's just a false positive from the AV. You will never host a whole file because they get shredded in small pieces then distributed through the network, so spreading viruses is impossible through Storj.

hello

thank you for telling me because i get worry when i see every day this warning for virus.

you maybe tell me how long it take for my hard drive space to fill, i have 4.5tb but only 4.08gb fill so far in 1 week is this normal for it to take long time for the space to fill up?

i also like to know how we know how much we earn from this, when we get paid?

thanking you.

Yes it's normal it takes a while to fill up TBs of storage.

Payouts are done monthly, the best way to stay up to date is to join their community in rocket chat:

43  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Poll] Coin Grading Moving Forward on: February 15, 2018, 10:34:35 PM
Would be great to have more options IMO, however ANACS has been the standard for a few years now.
I think there's another place in the UK that also grades physical btc, CGS: http://www.coingradingservices.co.uk/ I have one Casascius graded by them which I bought already graded. Not sure how active they are, site looks pretty basic.

I think US-based people would prefer a local grading service of course, but seen you guys are talking about alternatives I just wanted to share this.

When I find the CGS graded coin I have I will post a pic.

I will have to fish it out and see.

This is it I think: http://www.coingradingservices.co.uk/

Has anyone tried them before?
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: February 14, 2018, 01:10:59 AM
coin@coin,
Can you give me the main differences in Storj and sia? Storj appears to have a much more finished product but as far as the inner workings - both are decentralized cloud storage. What makes Storj different? (not looking for an argument, honest question here)

There are articles out there made by the community that explain the differences.

Just search for Storj vs SIA in Google, I would give you a biased opinion as I support Storj since a long time.

Wow congrats, I was following this back in the day but never got even close to solving this. But I did spend some time on it.

Glad someone managed to solve it. I can only wait for the solution once found, and hope someone writes and explains it. LOL

Keep up the good work CoinArtist!

47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storjcoin X (SJCX) - A Coin for Decentralized Cloud Storage on: January 22, 2018, 05:06:29 PM
From Storj Telegram, this may be one of the last opportunities to convert SJCX to STORJ.

SJCX to STORJ Conversion Update

Several months ago, we informed the Storj community that we would end SJCX to STORJ conversions on November 29 - a deadline that was extended several times to meet the needs of token holders. We’ve received a few requests from individuals who were unable to convert their tokens for various reasons in spite of the ample time allotment. Our team is working with these token holders to convert their SJCX tokens to the new ERC20 STORJ tokens.

If you have SJCX tokens to convert, please reach out to the Storj Labs team at support@storj.io for further instruction.

HELP please...

On November 29th, I followed the exact protocol provided to swap my SJCX from my Poloniex account
in STORJ...

I am just realizing (I did not check before), but I NEVER have been credited with the STORJ.

What should I do?

Here is the info I have about the transaction:

Txid: b651e9584e636c52a8124f86f87685718f323cc16b78008cb9f9e9e0bb3b8629

A chance I did not have a lot.. but those are my coins and I would not appreciate to have lost them

So, hope you will be able to help successfully ;-)

It would be appreciated to get an answer from support.

I see now different posts regarding the swap and no reply from dev team.

I don't think this is really normal.

In my case, I followed closely the provided doc to make the swap....
Apparently, something did not work tho...

PLEASE HELP

I am really really not impressed by the LACK OF SUPPORT and care from the dev team.

I have got stolen ALL BY SJCX coins during the conversion (using the exact protocol provided on official page)
and nobody from dev team has been willing to show up !

This is why so many projects in the crypto industry have bad reviews and lots of bad comments on BTCtalk...
holders and supporters are often on their own, facing loss, beeing stolen coins .....

no leadership what so ever

You need to email support@storj.io with your transaction IDs and they'll sort it out.

Many like you had issues that have been resolved. Need to be patient.

got it working... payout seems shoddy... how often does storj pay out?

Once a month, join https://community.storj.io and keep an eye on the #payouts channel for news and updates.

For a step by step guide to setup Storj Share head over to https://docs.storj.io.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: January 08, 2018, 08:01:48 PM
Is this information available for public how many clients Storj have?

Detailed info about clients, usage, network, how much storage is rented and so on.

Is there any website with this kind of information for Storj project?

blog.storj.io is where all the news and publicly available data is shared.

Remember Storj Labs is a private company they are not supposed to share such data for business and confidentiality reasons.
Would you like Amazon to share client data from Facebook or Instagram? How will FB take it?

What happened with the Windows installer?

I see the warning on the website.

Is the one currently displayed safe to use?

Was the website or GitHub hacked?

The link to the windows installer in the OP points to a download with the wrong checksum:

This is the link: http://1ink.cc/g9Ia beware.

The checksum returned is: 4e4249f68730a2f7a7210a730de21a79b646c8895622dda4e18d6a4b6f50d992

However the one currently on GitHub at https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/releases/tag/0.15.0.1

Returns the correct one: 53e01dd7366e87fb920645b29541f8487f6f9eec233cbb43032c60c0398fc9fa

So should we assume the OP has also been hacked?

BEWARE GUYS, MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK WHAT YOU DOWNLOAD BEFORE YOU RUN ANY SOFTWARE!!!

<Sigh> I was really trying to start to root for this project. Are we even certain the OP is directly linked with the dev team? The posts seemed to indicate that he was. How many of these incidents is the community willing to bear?  Roll Eyes

The OP has only made 2 posts since October 18 it does look a bit fishy.

Last active November 16:

It could be an older version of the installer, so can't be 100% sure as I didn't download it when it was first made available.
If anyone has the previous (official) installer and can run a checksum to confirm it's the same as I mentioned above:

4e4249f68730a2f7a7210a730de21a79b646c8895622dda4e18d6a4b6f50d992

That could clear things up for the OP. I'd expect the OP to be a bit more active.

55  Other / New forum software / Re: Progress? We're waiting... on: November 26, 2017, 04:35:57 AM
What is the rush? Not like there is no Bitcointalk available? Forum is here and up and running.

Also not that there aren't any users on here as it is... Over 1.3 million accounts and counting.

I rather they take their time and make sure it works well, and it's secure, work is progressing on GitHub so not that they are not working on it either.

Give time to time, a forum with so many users can't just be switched over just like that.

I'm confident once ready we will all see the hardwork that went into it.
56  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S wallet problems! Difficulty accessing wallets. on: November 26, 2017, 02:49:24 AM
May be a defective unit? Or maybe you need to give it some time to load up?

Here is their support guides for Bitcoin

https://ledger.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/115001472705-Bitcoin

This issue seems very similar to your:

Check the page for the ledger nano S, you can see the currently supported coins.

https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s

They seem to be very proactive in adding new coins/tokens all the times.

And it does support all ERC20 based tokens.
58  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Buyer for a Physical coin - 1oz Gold like Titan Bitcoin on: November 26, 2017, 02:12:49 AM
Keep an eye on this forum, you got some offers on here already, I think the first gold Titan was not minted in high numbers so maybe hard to go by,
but there is a newer (2016) edition and other manufacturers such as Denarium who are supposed to release some more.

So... I'm one of those people who bought Microsoul coins back in the day.

However, I've never actually redeemed a private key before. How do I go about doing that? ELI5 Smiley

Blockchain.info should allow you to import private keys, however depends on the private key working.

It does look like a very useful device.

Didn't know there was such a thing.

Surely should fetch some interest.
