42  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: NOTICE: WARNING to NEW Customers of BUTTERFLY LABS INC (BFL) on: January 22, 2014, 12:13:49 PM
Certainly take this with a pinch of salt. I've received many shipments from Batterfly labs and have been as happy as I could be, granted there have been endless delays but what company can say they have always shipped on time. It's just the name of the game. Bitcoin ASICS are still generally new to us despite the evolution of them going so fast. It must be hard for these businesses to keep up, every time they ship, people no longer want that product due to the difficulty increase.
43  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Guys what do you think about "Xtreme miners" new ASIC company? on: January 22, 2014, 12:07:41 PM
Considering the amount of money we are talking when it comes to miners it's always going to be very appealing to scammers. You have to be extremely cautious. Take into consideration how many problems we've had from legitimate companies so I just wouldn't get involved with companies we know nothing about. Don't throw your money away, be wary.
44  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Difference between "finding" and "solving" a block? on: January 22, 2014, 12:04:12 PM
There's not a great deal of fun to be had with mining my friend, especially when it's not profitable! If you're serious about mining then you will need very expensive equipment and be prepared not to see a return, this is the harsh reality of mining today. I wish you the best of luck though, you can pick up some cheap second hand mining hardware in the auction section.

Being in the UK I was very excited when I saw this post although the pricing actually appears to be on the steep end of the scale, it's a shame. If you provide bulk discount then please contact me, thinking in the region of 10+ units. Look forward to hearing you you. Good luck with your business, I'm sure it will be a success.

For all the Uk bitcoin miners!
48  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Jalapeno - Worth it? on: January 22, 2014, 10:47:47 AM
Sorry buddy but I have to agree with the above post. Mining on a jalapeño won't be profitable or even break even. If you're looking at your first step into mining it's an affordable option worth looking at. If you're serious about using mining as a means of making money then the ship may have sailed. Like you said though, second hand around £250 isn't a bad way of getting into the game.

Best of luck!
49  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Do You Mine? Buy a Kill-o-Watt Meter NOW...like RIGHT NOW! on: January 22, 2014, 10:41:33 AM
Couldn't agree more mate, if you're into mining or just not into spending crazy money on bills then hook up a meter to make your life a hell of a lot easier. It's well worth looking into. So for once, on this forum someone is talking sense! Don't ignore them!
50  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Guess who got a HashFast Baby Jet today.......... on: January 22, 2014, 10:35:27 AM
Congrats on your delivery! This caught my attention as I also received mine today! Actually having the same problem with the PSU, have to switch it on and off a few times before it starts up. I didn't find the set up too difficult. It's hashing away pretty well so no complaints but yeah not likely to see those coins back but oh well you win some, you lose some, enjoy!
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mentioned on a TV show on: January 21, 2014, 10:36:58 PM
Bitcoin is well and truly the talk of the town whether it be TV, radio shows or the internet. Opinions remain varied but one thing is for certain, bitcoin is heading mainstream. Hold onto your hats boys and girls!

54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: when did you start mining for bitcoins? on: December 11, 2013, 09:56:27 PM
Haha those were the days! If only we could go back to then and buy up every coin we could, I think we probably all done pretty well for ourselves with little to regret though. CG was around late 2011 right?

What a blast from the past! How much did you guys pay when you first got a bitcoin or did you mine it?
55  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WTS 2 faulty blue fury's UK on: December 11, 2013, 09:42:54 PM
Might be interested in taking those off your hands actually. Would love to have a go at fixing them, I'm in the UK too. Where abouts are you based in the UK? I'm sure we can make a deal mate.

Have you got any pictures you can post?
56  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello, I'm new...and my btc-e account was just hacked! on: December 11, 2013, 09:33:37 PM
BTC-E I believe do provide support on here so that may be worth seeking out, otherwise going through their support system can be a long and painful exprience usually with very little actual help.

I'm sorry to say but it's probably unlikely you'll see your coins again if you had any in your account. BTC-E is probably the worst in terms of protection and customer support. By the time you hear anything back, your coins will be long gone.

Like others said... stick to bitstamp.
57  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is everyone on ebay completely crazy? on: December 11, 2013, 09:21:04 PM
I think there's a lot of scammers on ebay, that's why they will pay high mate. Other than that I think a lot of ebayers don't know where to go to buy these things so they pay silly money for the convenience of ebay.

You're right though, things do go for 3-4x their value and sometimes more but that's nothing you don't see here everyday as well. People with more money than sense, stay the sensible one.
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it true Bitcoin can be modified/updated/changed? on: December 11, 2013, 09:09:49 PM
The actual structure of how bitcoin works can't be changed, that's the beauty of bitcoin. It can't be altered for anyones advantage although maybe messed with by people that have a lot of money!

Don't believe what you hear, bitcoin is strong, it's owned by the people, for the people.
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SexCoin Mining on: December 11, 2013, 08:59:27 PM

Enjoy!
60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hacked coins acct on: December 11, 2013, 08:45:23 PM
I've had coins stolen before and it' the worst feeling, have to stay so safe. People can help though. Contact admin and post in other sections of the forum. They may charge but it can be worth it to get coins back, don't lose hope or faith mate.

Best of luck!
