What's the expected ROI at this point? I hesitate to buy into any more mining until everything stabilizes.

Also, when will Paypal be back up as an option. I'm not planning on spending any more BTC.

I see so there's not anything to actually physically hold in the purchase.

So... how can I get a few shares? I still have to do a bit more reading on the finer details.

Sorry, I don't fully understand what we're buying. We get 1/100 ownership of a 1000gh/s machine or 10gh total. But then do we receive a piece of hardware or do we own 1/100th of the piece of hardware that we then have to pay hosting fees on?

So for those of us who lost a substantial amount, are we screwed or can our btc be recovered? I, for one, have payouts at a fairly high amount.

Seems like btc are missing from a number of people's accounts. I'm missing a good chunk, myself. This is from shoutbox:

Tazza: At this risk of sounding alarmist, I went to my 'previous rounds' under DGM stats and it was showing rediculous numbers, like 9 - 20 shares, and only the last few days; Am only small miner but running pc weeks on end adds up :(4 hours 57 min ago

46  Economy / Computer hardware / looking for any mining equipment people want to give away on: October 02, 2013, 07:46:17 PM
I'm hoping some people will get tired of their old block erupters, FPGA BFL miners, or GPUs and want to donate them to me. I'm really just hoping to bump up my hashing power the cheapest way possible. Any donations would be appreciated!

Not focusing on ROI but I'm not wealthy enough to afford to throw money away into bitcoin. I love mining and I love learning more about cryptocurrencies. I can't afford to pay for it as a hobby though.

48  Bitcoin / Mining support / need advice on: October 02, 2013, 05:39:37 AM
I'm finding myself floundering so I felt it necessary to seek advice. I'm afraid my mining days are numbered. There are a few factors that have really boned me. First, Bitlc.net went down and didn't pay out for a large number of people. That set me back. Then in February I spent 26ish btc on a 30gh/s miner from BFL. I've not yet received it and at this point it can only churn out .1btc per day. I'm not sure I'll ever break even on it before the difficulty goes too high for it to continue mining.

So now I'm wondering how to turn things around so that I can get more btc to buy an up and coming miner, be it the monarch or some other 2th/s miner from company x,y, or z.

What do you guys think?
49  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: easyminer vs BFGminer hashing variation with BFL little single on: October 01, 2013, 07:27:13 PM
I think it's more than that though. When I run the same pool on easyminer, it shows a relatively steady 30.4gh/s and the pool reflects that. When I run the same pool in bfgminer, it shows as being all over. The last time I ran it it was showing 25gh/s. The pool was showing 29.3 or something. Still, there's a large difference and I'm not sure how to optimize bfgminer.
50  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / bfgminer error - staged work underrun; increasing queue minimum to 16 on: October 01, 2013, 07:23:26 PM
I'm getting a few errors when using bfgminer with eclipsemc.com

first is:
staged work underrun; increasing queue minimum to 16

there's another similar error that talks about not being able to automatically change it to 18.

Any idea what this means or how to fix it?

what's the hash rate per erupter? Are you selling individually?

53  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / easyminer vs BFGminer hashing variation with BFL little single on: October 01, 2013, 12:07:04 AM
Hey everybody!

I'm running a BFL little single that runs at about 30gh/s. I'm running through Eclipse MC and am getting strange variations when I use bfgminer vs easyminer.

In easyminer, I'm averaging 33gh/s on the pool side, 30.5gh/s on the miner side.
In bfgminer, I'm getting about 28.5gh/s at the pool and about the same on the miner.

I realize that I'm likely getting a max of 30.5gh/s but I'm wondering why there's a 2gh/s difference in bfgminer vs easyminer.

Any suggestions?

55  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: most cost effective GPU on: May 20, 2013, 08:32:39 PM
Seems the 5830 is still pretty good. I got mine for $99 a piece 2 years ago and they get about 300mh/s each. I just wish I had a bigger case and more pcie slots or I'd get 2 more.
56  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: most cost effective GPU on: May 19, 2013, 03:54:51 PM
Any specific brand? Any idea what mh/s I could expect? Price?
57  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / most cost effective GPU on: May 19, 2013, 02:58:41 PM
A few years ago, the best bang for the buck came in the form of the 5830. It was cheap and I get about 300mh/s out of each one.

I'm looking at upgrading or building a second miner for litecoin and any cryptocoin that comes up in the future. At this point what GPU is the best bang for the buck?

I'm also considering holding off for a few months to see if there's an influx of GPU's on the market. What are your thoughts?

I just implemented 2-factor authentication in gox and a few pools. What happens if I lose the device with my google authenticator on it?
