I think the current sell is on the old chain so those coins are not swapped yet which mean the network is not that heavy.
My guess is the one who bought it will not do the manual swap but waiting for exchange swap, as it is staking now on exchange as well.
 

ETF approval simply mean more money pour in cryptos (from big investors), mean bigger market cap of everything, price of bitcoin and altcoins will raise and could be good for the end year bull run.

I hear good things about XLM, many people recommend it, the lightling network is built on XLM. So grab a big bag of XLM for couple of years and retired.

All I can think of when the price of bitcoin decrease is that the price of alt coin will go down harder and many "investors" will leave the market. In my opinion, this will not be real good for the cryptos market (trading), but it will some how good for cryptos in general, people will more focus on real usage than the hype which lead to the development.

When I see that I do not have stakes for long time, (depend on your total coin in the wallet - mine is like half of day), I will do the wallet restart and it often help. This kind of restarting also help when you have high number of orphan stakes.

I am not experienced enough to give advice, just want to share my view point: Holding is good at this market trend, you can grab a big bag and I am optimist that the price will go up in the time pan of 2 years. However, try to set your goal of profit, play smart (know when to sell) and do not be too greedy. As what go up will go down...

If you are looking for the alt that was not effected much by bitcoin, may I suggest the coins that decreased a lot already, those I thing are the good coin to buy, as its value has been down a lots, you can grab a bunch with super cheap price.

If you are looking for a real coin that really not affected by bitcoin price, that coin does not exist yet as bitcoin is the center of the market now. Maybe there will be in the future when a global company like google or facebook....decided to create their own cryptos.

I hold some masternode coin, I can say the price go up and down for a very large space, you have to be strong to decide not to sell on those situation.

I just love this new wallet in term of resource consuming, very few compared to other masternode wallet.

If there is $50 price, I will for the first time in my life owning hundreds of ETH, unluckily, I dont think there is that possibility.
The reason is simple, its mainly about speculation in cryptos world and ETH has been speculated as the queen after the king (bitcoin), so in the long run, ETH will go up and up, unless the whole cryptos world fall.

Also, the team now has very large amount of money, with that money, they surely can improve the current "limit" of ETH to make it more useful in cryptos world, so there is very little possibility that ETH will go to that $50 level.

I am still using MEW, last time I install the plug in call Metamask but it cost ETH to move the token from MEW to Metamask so still using.

From what I understand, you are right when saying MEW is the gateway to access the block chain.

There are some reason that bitcoin price has strong effect on the alt coins:
- Bitcoin is the first coin created so it is considered as the cryptos king.
- Most of the alt coin have trading pair with bitcoin on the exchange, so if bit coin price down, the one its pair should down first as well.
- Bitcoin got strong effect because to many people out there, alt coins are just mean to collect bitcoin that mean everything running around with the only purpose of getting more the number of satoshi.

What I like about new traw wallet is that it only consume around 120MB of RAM during staking. Meaning I can do the staking with the MN rewards as well. This is better than many of other masternode wallets which often eat around 180MB RAM and around 25% of the CPU that is not possible for staking on my spare I3 laptop.
