41  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Data compression on: November 09, 2017, 04:27:46 PM
i "move" blk*.dat and rev*.dat file to a squashfs file, and remount back to bitcoin core, here is the stats:

Code:
# du -hs bitcoin-blocks?.squashfs
53G     bitcoin-blocks0.squashfs
56G     bitcoin-blocks1.squashfs
# du -hs blocks-ro?
71G     blocks-ro0
71G     blocks-ro1

both files contain 500-500 blk*.dat files, compression rate is 34%. so transaction data can be compressed.

WARNING

Think twice before mining on http://coinspool.cu.cc

It's been 48 hours now and I still haven't received a payment and the pool operator refuses to reply to messages.

It's your hashing power, so it's your decision but be cautious.
I dont understand this? why do ppl have to cry instantly?
i got a news! many ppl have real live (including me), they meet with their friends or just sleeping at night.

i waked up, and you got answered in pm....

However I my self dont know how it works with the pay outs when it takes 360 confirms for a block.

Is it that the website will remember how much hash was put on that block after 361 blocks have passed?
Or is it that the website pays for the block at the time?
Pool remember the round stats for blocks, after the block is available, pool sw calculated the reward for each miner based on that block stats.

and if the block is kicked or orphaned, the stats added to next block stats, as if that kicked block never existed.

for nicehash mining: there is no good solution for that: it is not possible limit the hashrate for miners.
anyway, even if I could ban it, he can make a private pool, and mine there.

the pool is always under DoS attach, the hosting provider can handle flood traffic more or less, but still there are smaller issues. say thanks for him!  Embarrassed

Pool is working again, dos went away. I fixed some things in daemon, hopefully it will be stable.

The pool is still down for me, same message as above. Seems like pool owner must use some kind of anti-ddos service such as cloudflare to handle the ddos issue.
cloudflare protect only http traffic, and cannot protect stratum. so CF is useless in this situation. Sad

Anyway, this attach is udp flood, and handled by hosting provider.
If you have connection issue, maybe your ip address (or range) is filtered by them. Try wait a little, or change ip.

our miners DDOS - pool
So many, many miners  Grin

Indeed... Still can't connect to the pool  Sad

Dos handled. Pool works again.

Wow looking at some of those huge hash numbers I wonder if someone figured out how to use ASICS or another possibility are those botnets?

Either way let's hope the pool operator can give us some kind of feedback and even a suggestion of what action to take...

Not sure if I'm reading it right

On the pool, it shows the pool's hashrate as higher than network hashrate. Is that even possible? Huh Huh

Network
 SymbolROI
 Algorithmhodl
Hashrate152.69 KH
Est. Avg. Time per Round2 minutes 5 seconds
 Difficulty0.00456411
 Height1496
 Coinbase maturity360
 StatusOnline

Pool
Hashrate199.84 KH
Workers64
 Daemon version1.0.2.7
 Current Round1497
Est. Avg. Time per Round1 minute 35 seconds
 Minimum payment20
 Block reward120
Network hashrate come from daemon, it's calculated from average hashrate from last 120 blocks.
Pool hashrate is current value, it is calculated from miners sharerate. It may amplitude because miners have different share luck.

First payments sent out, the minimum payment is 20 now. this will be adjusted later to a good value!

i made a pool: http://coinspool.cu.cc/info_roicoin

cpu miner (not compiled by me!):
Windows binary: https://github.com/madzebra/hodlminer-binary/raw/master/hodlminer.exe

Source: https://github.com/Optiminer/hodlminer-wolf

pool is not fully tested, block diff to high...  Sad

Hello. I’m mining multi algo with baikal units 2000MH and last week profitability dropped 2-3 times. Are there some parameters I can change to restore profitability?
Thanks
the first d3 asic batch started to work. hashrate is 2-3x bigger, profitability is 2-3x less.

looking forward to the swap any idea on the swap ratio? Thanks in advance

This will be determined after we get an explorer running again and get the total amount of coins as Trinity does not have that in the wallet.
90482097 coins in 2604783 height.

Where did you get this information from?
i made an update codebase (based on 0.10.4 litecoin), and that gives to me: https://github.com/bitbandi/Trinity/tree/newcodebase

its a normal transacion: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/tx.dws?c94083d49da44959de1272cfd3eb81ca579c1e6e30be4d1883e93e54aeb6af5f.htm

you sent yourself something (to different address or change address), and the transaction fee was 0.00001920. no magic, no issue, so no fud pls.

frontend/api  back open.

Working on rebuilding 2 servers to get the missing 80+ wallets back online from the crash earlier in the week.

Thanks
i would make a docker builds: not because it a security solution, instead easy to manage the daemons: you can easy run a new instance in a new location/server.

That's right, it can be random and not always the correct guess. There have been and are too many coins on the pool using the same address type as bitcoin which is why I've noted you must supply the c=BTC    or whatever currency your wallet is or it can be hit and miss and even that sometimes isn't always 100%. Please always check your wallet stats to make sure the currency shown is what you want to be paid in. If it's not, and you did use c=, I would try another address to get it detected to the proper currency.
you sould enforce this parameter for every miner, and you get rid from such a issues

the latest wallet 1.5.0.0 keeps crashing on me after the splash screen on windows x64 win 8.1 with a runtime error. I think a fix needs to be put out.
devs are mind-reader, they will fix the issue soon...  Shocked

if not, runtime error message or some debug.log infos are helpfully
59  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: whats is best collation to store bitcoin WIF key and bitcoin address in mysql ? on: September 02, 2017, 06:01:45 PM
you can decode base58 to hex, and store the hex as binary.

i still dont get it., what do you mean by decode base58 to hex ?

do i have tp decode both WIF and bitcoin address ? and store as binary ?

what charset should i use ?

can i later search directly by using bitcoin address ?

thanks
you have an address, like 1QCkaDkCDAtsxG9LrLDbPrSne7q3hM3qm3 decode base58, you get: 00FE83D76016CF60187F978ACECB3480086BDD6443A1B813CA
you can store this hex (as binary) in mysql: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/blob.html
