Why not just lock the main sections for posting from the newbies to avoid spam and only "beginners and help" and "off topic" section are allowed for them. In that case the spam in every sections would be lesser or gone and they would be taken care of by their tutors. And they could only unlock the sections if they gain a Merit or their activity increases to 100. What do you think ?
Also some newbies were only created to introduce a project from the altcoins section. I think its better if the mods put a payment for unlocking the altcoins section, and in that way the forum can control of ICO scams and it's their way to show their legitimacy.

You're wrong mate having a good posts wasn't good enough to gain merits. First, you need to be popular in this forum.
As I observe since the day they implemented this merit system. It was already two years since then I guess, but merit farming topics still continue to appear on Meta section.

Also gaining merits was like first come first serve, look at all the first pages of the topic. Merits were given to those first commentors unlike on the second page, third page and etc .. you can rarely see merits from that pages. Maybe because this pages was not like that important to read and also the readers were lazy to give their attention.

Dear OP, if your main purpose is just to earn money why not join me on bounties there's a lot of opportunity on joining bounties rather than aiming for signature campaign it's not worth it, you will be just force to post 25 in different topics it would only cause spam for the forum. I need your thoughts about this token that still been strong for the past two years.. I return to this forum and hoping about their progress this month..

Think about of all projects that had a large community existed on the past two years most of them didn't survive. The devs abandoned their community for the reason of frustration and only false expectations that they could reach moon..
But unlike SHIPCHAIN they still fight and find ways for their company and it seems very legitimate project for me...
