BTCH website says ".... while BTCH will not be minable ...." but the table says it uses Equihash for PoW.  Huh

Hi, I got a new windows wallet with a new address early this month.  When it was done synchronizing, it gave a balance of 4.95 Hush in a second address.  I never sent any Hush to this wallet, so I don't know where it came from.  When I just opened the wallet today, it showed a balance of 0.495 and then after it synchronized now it says a balance of 4.06838947.
What is happening?

You just got some free hush... jk
Check if that address is watch-only

New coin with 1080Ti mining, good luck!

Forget about mining scrypt algos using GPU
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which GPU should i pick? 1070 or 1070 ti? on: January 15, 2018, 11:47:44 PM
I'd rather get 1080 instead. Right now it's only about $20-ish more than 1070Ti, but has the same TDP as 1070Ti, and gives significant more hashrate (okay, probably not for memory-intensive algos like ETH...)
Availability is a big factor too and in many places the 1080 is OOS or priced ridiculously higher than the 1070ti/1070. Mining right now is really just what you can get at a price as close to MSRP as possible.
I just ordered two MSI 1080 Gaming X for $569 each from B&H few days ago. No tax and even it has an ongoing mail rebate $10 for each, so essentially it's $559 each, which is only $10 more than NVIDIA's FE MSRP.
It looks like the availability of 1080 is about the same as 1070/1070Ti nowadays, just setup email notifications and account/billing/shipping info ready, it shouldn't be too hard to get one actually.

Use the email notification of the item that you want so you got an email when it's in stock. It usually will be gone in less than 10mins so you have to be quick
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 15, 2018, 09:58:56 PM
I just saw a msi 1080ti go for $1220 on ebay.

Briefly thought about buying 4 titan xp and holding onto them for a while to see where this debacle goes.

Just can't bring myself to spend over 4500$ on some gpus. Too risky. For all we know next week stock will be there to satisfy demand or the crypto market will dive.

Just because someone is crazy enough to spend $1220 on a 1080ti doesn't necessarily mean they'd spend $1600+ on a titan xp even if that was literally all you could get.
My absolute max limit on a 1080ti for now is $850, even at that price point I won't jump and order one right away. Anything above that, I'll pass.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Biostar TB250-BTC M2 to PCIE, 4in1 PCIE Riser..? on: January 15, 2018, 09:34:38 PM
Hello all,

I've been using motherboard Biostar TB250-BTC Ver 6.0 (the one with 6 PCIE slots) with 4x1080Ti, 1x1070, 1x1060.
I just ordered more GPUs (1080s and 1080Tis) and wondering if these methods would work.

1. M2 to PCIE (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078SRVJ2X/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=AH2IFP2B2EGWZ&psc=1)
2. 4in1 PCIE (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077JNRFN2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AH2IFP2B2EGWZ&psc=1)

If both methods work this means I can have 10 GPUs (maybe even more if I use all the 4in1 PCIE in more PCIE ports?).
Have anyone tested if any of these works with this particular motherboard? I have read horror stories like fried motherboards and such because of using these, especially the #2.
I really appreciate if anyone can share their experience or even have the link to the item that you've been using.
I'm using Pentium G4560 and 8GB RAM, if that matters.

Thanks!

Second Wave Reopen

Ok lets do this again. The airdrop form that we posted yesterday got filled up within 2 hours. But unfortunately only 9 people actually do the airdrop task. Please understand that we are doing airdrop to build a strong community around our project. A community that are willing to help to make our project a success. As you all know that this project is self funded and we only have a small team to do a mountain of task. So we can use all the help we can get.

Note: Only the 9 participants who met the requirement will get the tokens. Here is the link of the airdrop spreadsheet from yesterday. Only the lines in blue font actually qualify. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19gKTy0LLhQqUQ56H7WtwsdDgIWc4qeAytT9RgL6bhqA/edit#gid=1008246242

So lets try this again

There is only 2 task to do to qualify for this airdrop.

For this airdrop we are going to distribute 300 thousand tokens. That is 300 participants for 1000 FAITH tokens each. This time we are using script on our google form so the form will automatically close when we reach 300 participants.

It is really important to meet all the airdrop requirements. Participants who does not satisfy the requirement will be disqualified and no token will be transferred to their account.
Join our airdrop at this link here

Incase the link didn't work click here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfB3IMCpaTP14PgwtQA17EVikwMKXSZC_iLpTdsqoNYmp5q1g/viewform?usp=sf_link

I feel like I did all of the requirements, but just want to make sure that I did qualify so that I don't have to re-fill the form again.
When I tried to open this link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19gKTy0LLhQqUQ56H7WtwsdDgIWc4qeAytT9RgL6bhqA/edit#gid=1008246242 it says I need permission.

I usually didn't pay attention that much to new tokens but the background of FaithCoin sure is interesting. Looking forward to the bright future of FaithCoin.  Smiley

Oh crap, I haven't moved my Hush to my wallet from Cryptopia yet and their wallet is now in maintenance mode........ Hopefully they'll get it done before the snapshot time
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HUSH Secure Private Messaging and Transactions [Equihash] on: January 14, 2018, 07:19:14 AM
I'm wondering why is Hush not as crazy as ZCL? I mean both is going to have a fork soon, but ZCL was pumped like 40x or so while there's no significant increase in Hush value (in fact it's sinking quite fast today...).

Had the same question.  This helped everything get synced.  Having an SSD also speeds things up - sorry, couldn't find a bootstrap.

Use this link to create hush.conf and then move it to c:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Hush\
http://myhush.org/config-generator/

Great project this HUSH is.
Yeah I found the nodes on the github page readme and now have fully synced.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HUSH Secure Private Messaging and Transactions [Equihash] on: January 14, 2018, 01:49:09 AM
anyone have bootstrap or snapshot of the chain?
im syncing for over 10h now only 39% ..
too keep up with demand i highly suggest a faster way to sync up
ditto here.
also does anybody have the list of addnodes?
at this rate i think i'm gonna give up on the desktop wallet and use the web wallet instead
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 13, 2018, 08:21:33 PM
First set of 1080 ti's. Running into an issue.

Windows boots and runs perfectly. However, upon launching any mining program, I get an instant black screen crash with a reset.

I've tried all different settings. From stock to slightly OC'd. Windows settings are same as all my other rigs.
The longest I've had it run was for maybe half a day.

Thinking it's either psu issues (1200 watt titanium that I bought open box)
Risers
Drivers (using the newest)

Anybody have any thoughts or guidance? I'm was planning on doing a rebuild tomorrow anyways but wanted to see if y'all had some ideas on things I should look out for with these cards.

Try remove all the drivers using DDU, then start by using only one card, and then adding one by one
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides on: January 13, 2018, 07:11:25 AM
XMRig is your best choice.
For some reason xmrig is the only miner that my windows defender dislikes, but I guess it is indeed false alarm. Will try later and compare with xmr-stak

I too know the some cheap altcoins can be mined with the CPU alone but can you tell me is that still profit to make money in mining the cryptos with the CPU. I suggest you to start mining with the GPU rig. You can mine almost all the cryptos with the GPU cards so you can make money also with the decent growth.
You can choose XMR, ETH, ETC, SIA and equihash to mine with the Rx series and Nvidia model cards bro. I am sure you can more than 500 USD with the any of the series cards.
It IS still profitable, although it's a different story if you use low-end CPU like Celeron or Pentiums.
And of course, I do have GPU rigs.

Any suggestion on which cpu miner does everyone use?
Currently using xmr-stak, wondering if there's a better alternative

hhmmm  Coinbase wants my personal login info for my  bank?  lol.. what could possibly go wrong?
That's to verify your bank account instantly. If you don't want to do that you can use the other method, they will deposit your bank some small amount and you need to confirm the amount, but it can take 3+ days
