41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XBY] XtraBYtes Speculation on: October 18, 2019, 01:09:53 PM
Not even George is using his real name on this and the people for not even know. When even he is using a fake name, how to trust anyone or even anything?

Dunno, my main interest was the patents rather then who or what the people in this project are. I'm invested in alot of projects with anon people so I don't mind anonymity, but the main issue is that considering that it's been 23 months and both the tech and new exchanges rely on patents, then there's really no point in investing in this. Even the cartoon avatars was fine imho if they could demonstrate the technology with a working product, but "telling people its good, without showing its good" isn't a good way to run a project.

Ironically if they had gotten patents anytime in the last 22-23 months then they could have gotten on exchanges like Bittrex or Kucoin (assuming that those exchanges would be keen on accepting the project), but now I consider this project to be as dead as Junkcoin or Electrowatt (another waves based token) *shrugs*

Xtrabytes Market is frozen now and we still need patents for a new exchange and next month will be 23 months in the patent saga

that was the last CEX for this project unfortunately

Hello,

Any volunteers who showed up for doing the ambassador thing?

nope it was cancelled due to lack of interest / participation

For real?

lol - why are you pretending like you don't all know this anyway.

How would I know? Just saw the empty post on reddit so was wondering what the conclusion of it was. You don't need to bark at everything that isn't pro-xby.
Btw I'm surprised you didn't go for it?

"MarcusRG: Due to the lack of participation, we have decided to postpone the selection of the Community Ambassadors. While we appreciate those who have submitted a nomination, we believe it's best to reopen the nominations at a later time once more individuals are interested in taking on that role. Thus, we will not be announcing a Community Ambassador today nor will be provide Part 2 of the Community Update.

We’re sorry to disappoint those who eagerly anticipated today’s announcement."

It was actually posted on the Xtrabytes discord by MarcusRG (that's how I found out). To find the message you need to search in the "XBY-Talk" portion of the discord

I had about 45k XBY on topia. Pretty much wrote it off.

Around 68k left on there for me, but I'm more interested in observing this project...a bit hard to explain but, perhaps to see where it goes as an "experiment" of sorts? I'm interested in seeing what keeps peoples "faith" in this project going. Like the patent pending of almost 2 years, it interests me to see what people generally believe about it (and why) and to see "how long" people are willing to hold out for it. I'm still looking for a positive outcome, but overall, I've been invested in alot of other projects as well, but I wouldn't say this project is my main investment. At least not anymore

I still follow the rule of "if you're constantly worried about the outcome of a project, then you're overinvested". As long as you throw what you can afford to lose at this project, then if it dies / fails then you won't lose much and if it becomes successful then you can smile and be happy about it

As I was saying, we will be publicly posting our news release after the representative from Grant Thornton reviews what we have sent him (today) and agrees that the information is accurate. It looks like their willingness to talk to us is part of a larger strategy that is mentioned in the following article:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/cryptopia-exchange-liquidator-asks-its-devs-how-to-reimburse-users

The fact that we have opened a communication channel with the liquidators is simply a tactic of good business sense. We are doing everything we can to protect our investors and if we can help shed some light on others in the crypto world, who may be in the dark regarding the Cryptopia situation, we are happy to do so. Over 800,000 people are affected by this hack and more than 21% of our XBY supply is involved. Helping to keep 800,000 people informed is an honor that we are happy to assist with and keeping everyone aligned, rather than scattered is much better for the crypto community at large.

I actually think its a good strategy tbh, more than XBY, Flash, ECA, Gnosis and a bunch of other projects lost in cryptopia too. The main issue though is I really think that this is like mt.gox and it might be hard to get the coins back in a reasonable time limit. Not sure if you was around during mt.gox but, alot of people are still fighting for their coins back

so doucie1, if this project did die, what would you do? will you still defend it after the 15th?
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - A NEW ERA BEGINS on: October 09, 2019, 04:00:28 PM
exactly, im still waiting on the patents too. I have no comment on the rest though, i mean they did make progress in some areas just doesnt seem that way with patents
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - A NEW ERA BEGINS on: October 08, 2019, 08:01:00 PM
this project is dying and thats my opinion (it will probably be deleted)
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - A NEW ERA BEGINS on: October 03, 2019, 03:57:16 PM
you people still don't understand how fucked up it is your lead 'dev' locked coins for 'insurance'. fucking neophytes
also....LMAO you don't have any exchanges. donly stupid fucking waves

but have no fear...there are testimonials from the team lmao

The real question is how fucked up are you? You're only here on bitcointalk to post about XBY which is a scam according to you  Cheesy Super strange..

And saying that the WAVES DEX is stupid is just a fucking dumb insult. It's the best DEX right now in the cryptoscene and DEX's are the future that is a certainty.

You are just an ignorant, salty loser.

i wouldnt say its a scam at this point as much as no one will probably use waves and it will die that way unfortunately. Personally I cant even express how much I hate waves and I literally hold waves and a bunch of waves tokens (i.e i refuse to open my wallet 99% of the time) lol

a reason I was interested in this project was X-Dex, I agree that waves is stupid, I think Xtrabytes did well in going with the waves gateway (i.e the idea was good) but waves UX is probably the stupidest UX in all of history, no offense to the waves team (also its laggy and bloatware)

TLDR: I hold waves, waves sucks and I wouldnt touch waves with a 10 foot pole no matter how much its promoted
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XBY] XtraBYtes Speculation on: October 01, 2019, 02:09:44 PM
@cameron0208 afaik theyre just "paid testimonials" (i.e through xfuel) and there's a serious conflict of interest there

on that note, there were people who actually said bitconnect wasn't a scam lol, people who are invested in this project (like DJC) will obviously say it's legit, but it has ALOT of red flags and the tech needs to be reviewed by an independent third party

and yes, im super duper mega ultra patent pending happy with my decision to bow out when i did and reduce my investment in this coin. Guess who paid back their student loans and has an easier life now  Grin

eh since people use this thread too, I may as well post it here too

Where is the damn technical white paper on this coin? June 2017 I said I would stop pointing out the flaws in what was known at the time about this coin and wait for the white paper. Fast forward to now and there is still none. I see it's still centralized using "Master Nodes" which they've just renamed to Static to make it seem like it's something "fresh" to the naive. And to make matter worse they're getting a patent? So who exactly will own that patent and thus completely control the coin? Why is it not open source so it can be vetted by real crypto experts? In what way does anyone think this is an actual cryptocurrency as opposed to a group of people behind this thing looking to get rich of the naive fools around here?

well...yeah. You either have to join the echo chamber or be against it, most of the "anti-fudders" shrug off critical thinking. lol...

its best to just say "I hope it works out for you guys" and invest in something else in the (probably quite a long time) meantime. If you wanna see something silly, ask Fishfishfish313 about his campaign against me and calling me a liar in 2018, that was a laugh  Cheesy (reclusiarh said it was a fud that patents wouldn't come in 2018 and tried to get me banned from reddit).

Ironically I actually think CCR really cares about this project and just wants to keep the momentum going though, so that's respectable imho to an extent

Positives : Team using real life avatars (although the picture of borz you could confirm was real on warasu in 2018 so I stopped doubting that borz didnt exist and became more interested in the tech)

Negatives : Project is basically still a religion, chrisdanette quit, reclusiarh meoherethere and fishfishfish313 waged an anti-fud campaign on reddit that ended with me sharply lowering my investment in this project and probably wont ever invest in this project heavily again (obviously the patents were another thing, but those guys weren't really the most "discreet" when trying to "fight the fud" against "patents coming soon in 2018"). After lowering my investment in this during their crusade, i made a bunch of $ in other projects though so looking back on it, they were fun memories. I wonder how they feel about how 2018 played out

Negative #2 : Patents probably won't come in 2019 and I think alot of people probably won't ever give this project KYC after the doxxing incident

i think most people would rather confirm for themselves rather than take the word of a third party tbh

From CCRevolution on XBY Discord

[11:39 AM] CCRevolution: Some of you might have seen the post from Chris that is circulating and are wondering what it is all about.

While the content of his message is not new to us we are surprised he is posting this. We first tried to contact Chris to find out what his reasoning was behind his recent post but unfortunately Chris has been refusing to answer any of our questions for a considerable amount of time now.

Here is what we know:

Some time ago we discovered some inconsistencies (totalling about 7 million XFUEL) with one of the payroll wallets while looking into the XFUEL dumps that were happening on the WAVES exchange. When investigating the issue further we found out that someone had deposited and sold XFUEL on WAVES that came directly from one of our payroll wallets. The wallet in question was a payroll wallet for which Chris used to pay our contributors.

During that same investigation we also discovered that Chris had transfered the entire balance of his personal payout wallet to WAVES as well and sold it. Before we decided to confront Chris with these findings we wanted to get the payroll records that he was holding. When we asked Chris to provide these records he told us that the digital version was lost and all that was left were his handwritten notes.

This was also the time that Chris mentioned he had been contacted by US authorities but he didn't give any further information about this. When we asked more details about this and the payroll records he went silent and refused to reply to any of our messages.
Because we were unable to establish a line of communication with Chris and the fact that we were dealing with an internal leak at that time, we decided to suspend Chris from his access to the company server. He hasn't contacted us since this happened despite various attempts made by different teammembers. We have yet to get an answer to any of our questions from Chris.

[11:39 AM] CCRevolution: Prior to all of this Chris had been absent for some time because, according to his own statement at the time, he was "dealing with serious health issues."

We have since made great efforts to rebuild the payroll history using the information available on the blockexplorer and our time reporting system.

The reason we have not shared this with the community until now is because we did not have 100% proof (although IP's matched and wallet addresses are known we can not say for certain it was Chris who was at the keys at the moment of the transfers) and vague information about the true reasons behind Chris and his behavior and absence. So, we felt it was unfair towards Chris who had been supportive of the project since the beginning to bring this to the public without conclusive evidence or at least hear his version of the events. However since he recently came forward with (a part of) the information we feel the community has a right to the full story as we know it.

We have no idea what Chris's intentions were or are but we do find it rather odd that he refuses to answer any of our questions and somehow has no problem in casually dropping by in the public discord.

So to conclude, yes Chris has been suspended from the team for some time and we are waiting for him to respond to our messages so we can conclude this issue. And no, apart from Chris's own statement, we are not aware of any ongoing or concluded, official or unofficial investigation by any US authority into the team or Chris personally. So unless Chris comes forward with more information about this we know as much about this as the rest of the community.

To answer the obvious question regarding future payouts: a new contributor tracking portal is being built which will include a process for payouts requiring 3 separate signoffs before XFUEL can be sent out of the corporate wallet. In the mean time, payouts are being handled by the founders.

i understand that too, but I also have to ask, if Chris was managing the Xfuel and expenses for this project, does that mean he still have access to the company's xfuel wallet? and if he does, what's to stop him from selling more?
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - A NEW ERA BEGINS on: August 24, 2019, 06:37:59 AM
yeah its more about the fact that chris left the project and what he did rather than the amount, he was in charge of paying team members and managing finances for the project
