41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For Bitcoin to go mainstream, we have to advance past B2C to B2B. on: December 09, 2013, 11:43:29 AM
Yes bitcoin could be very much suited to the B2B area more so than the daily consumer spend at the local cafe.

42  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan request on: December 08, 2013, 09:46:53 AM
I am in need of a short term loan of 1-2BTC. Please PM me with interest rate and terms if you are able to help. Thanks

Why do you require 1-2 BTC?
Is it 1 or is it 2 you require?
When you say short term, what does that mean? 2 hours, 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months?

43  Other / Archival / Re: Font people, please help with "1 weird question" on: December 08, 2013, 09:24:04 AM

Can someone please help me figure out which fonts are used for the sections of the graph labeled "Valuation", "Smart Money" and "Stealth Phase?"

One of the very first things I learned about the internet, is that there are people in the world that know an awful lot about fonts.  Please help.

*edit*
Sorry, 5 minutes of additional thought made me realize that of course the font people would have there own forum elsewhere.  please let this post die, since I can't delete it.

Looks like it could be Verdana

Blue line above is the price of gold, which is something to look out for again if we move higher.

The classic double top or BIG M as we used to call it.

46  Economy / Speculation / Re: China - Day 2 on: December 08, 2013, 03:28:55 AM
Firmer laws surrounding digital currency in the foreseeable future will be adopted, not just in China.

Its not necessarily a bad thing, it gives BTC some credit/legitimacy and as explained will not be adopted as part of the traditional banking service.

It was never intended to be anyway.

However, the market will react and my prediction is the BTC will drop to hit mid $400 USD in next 48 hours.

May be short lived, so perhaps a good time to buy a few.

47  Economy / Economics / Re: How to MASTER bitcoin trading on: December 07, 2013, 10:32:05 PM
yes buy low sell high.

Sounds great in theory.

I see why you lost thousands initially with this kind of tactic.

What if you sold at $1200 recently and then re-bought at $1000 or even $950?

It then went to under $700, your strategy wont always work, and has flaws.

Not all rare things have value.

Just sayin.

52  Economy / Speculation / Re: Taking a loan to buy bitcoin on: December 03, 2013, 12:56:42 AM
Assume the bank will ask you what the loan is for?

If you say to buy bitcoins, they may be less than impressed and decline the loan.

If you say for some other purpose other then buy bitcoins, they may be even less impressed if you cant pay the loan back.

56  Economy / Economics / The funnel as price rises on: November 28, 2013, 11:26:15 PM
Assuming Bitcoin heads to lets say $10,000 early next year.

Say im holding 100 BTC.

Im then sitting on potentially $1,000,000.

The issue then is, how to get it out?

As the price rises, the ability to "get out" decreases unless a) the buying volume continues to increase and b) An exchange can handle such a sale.

It seems MtGox for example already has a limit on cash out I believe at $50,000.

That means you have to wait around 20 days and have 20 withdrawals at a minimum.

That also means you could potentially sell all 100 BTC in one day (buyers permitting) but then have to sit there and rely upon an Mtgox to send you your funds over 20 days.

Enough people trying to do the same thing, and your reliance levels upon Mtgox to deliver becomes very scary.

As more sellers need to or want to do this, simply to take some profit off the table if nothing else, the funnel will get exponentially smaller.

I guess the exchanges will adapt and increase their withdrawal limits over time, however I noticed Mtgox actually reduced theirs recently?

Is there a limit on all exchanges, if I had $1m worth of BTC today, do any of the exchanges enable me to cashout such an amount?

When you see this kind of setup below in the link, you can start to see the serious business of miners.

Only take one of these massive outfits to be offered incentives to form alliances and suddenly have potential problems I guess.

What timeframe would you give for the >50%attack to occur from this point in time?

Do you believe there is an altcoin that does not have these concerns or could one be developed?

Lastly, although u seem to have a high number of ignores, I do prefer to listen to those that can backup their arguments, and although the conversations can somewhat deteriorate at times, it seems to be more so than frustration than inability to understand other points of view.

personally commend you for providing not only various probable weaknesses within the bitcoin DNA but also back that up with what seems to be competent evidence with merit.

I'm sure mr satoshi when completing his white paper did not allow for human greed and power!

When contemplating whether you are full of shit or have valid argument, one only has to understand that to be the minnow on one side of the battle is honourees in itself, win or lose, so should be given credence.

Appreciate your efforts and personally enjoy your posts, although with your obvious strength in economics and also coding, it is certainly at time hard to understand the various Swazi language, but guess we all have our s and w.

Cheers

60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MtGox stole family's money on: November 28, 2013, 11:13:37 AM
Hi hero

You put in 100,000 in April/ May and have the same amount in October/November?

Can I ask how this can be when surely you made some trading profit during this period, or do u still hold BTC in MtGox?

Hope it all works out fo you.

As Mtgox suggested, best to do international wire transfer as per their instructions.

Rather than spend time stressing any more, please go into your account and do wire transfer...it is that simple.

Understand they may have told you different by setting up higher withdrawal limits, however you are not dealing with a bnbak, you are dealing with an unregulated online website that could close down overnight without warning.

Be safe, kiss your children and do what you need to do to get the funds back (wire transfer).

Cheers
