41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need review on build im planing to buy on: February 16, 2018, 05:42:02 PM
You need to follow good guidelines to connect multiple power supplies to one rig. I never tried it, but read that it was important.

I would go for 1500 and 1000 or 1250. That makes it a little easier to connect.

I don't think that you are chosing the right power supplies. Power consumption will be an important piece in the profit you will have. I recommend to spend some more on those, to have a better one. I would go for a platinum serie.

Additionally I think you can't power 13 cards with 2 - 1000W supplies. 1 card uses around 180 Watt (AMD RX580) ==> Which is 2360 Watt + You should have around 10 to 15 % reserve. Of course there are cards that consume less, but bring less return as well

I only restart when something went wrong. So normally never.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashing Power! Is it all that matters? on: February 11, 2018, 11:45:02 AM
Is there a specific reason you are looking for NVIDIA cards? I'm using AMD cards and they run pretty stable and are a lot cheaper than the prices you mention. I Buy my MSI AMD RX580 - 8GB at 300€ (Sapphire at 350€) and they run at a hashrate of 29 for the MSI and 32 for the Sapphire.

all of the above what has been stated. And I would not recommend to put one in your living room, they make a hell of noise.

Baseball fan coin "OHTANI COIN"
Project to donate baseball tools to people all over the world. This does not sell ICO, All free.
Popular in USA and Japan baseball fan.

I don't see a lot aof value in this one. Not living in a baseball country neither.

Hi
rx470 8 G Claymore v11.0 win 10 (1709 B16299.15) my hash is 29+ for a while then drops 22+
any ideas?

Thanks
Mego

have a look to -dcri instensity use + or - when miner is running to test what value is better
thank you for your kindly replay

I'm mininig eth alone and my -dcri is 0
-dcri 0
the hash is 29+ for about an hour then it became 22Mh
AB settings 155/2100
the pool is: miningpoolhub
thanks
Mego

That seems about right. Depends on the cards you have. Some cards can go to 32 (RX580 Sapphire Nitro - 8 GB). My MSI RX 580 I have as well at 29 (solo). Did not try to mine verge yet.

Going to check that out today.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining 2017? on: February 09, 2018, 11:04:38 PM
CPU mining is not profitable. You might run into some real new coins, but you will not earn a lot.

It is just something to play with. And you never know if they will be worth something someday.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate fluctuation - claymore + ethermine on: February 09, 2018, 10:57:04 PM
I have the same. Real Ethermine hashrate fluctuates a lot and stale parts have increased a lot recently.

However the most important is that your mined shares stays strong.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Best Mining pool for Ethereum on: February 09, 2018, 01:04:26 PM
I was wondering what the best miningpool for Ethereum is? I have only used Etheremine, but I have the impression that my actual hashrate is quite lower that what my miner says. As well the stale shares have risen.

I know that only the return is important, but as I have only used 1 pool till now, I have no basis to compare. I have the following return for 120Mh/s (claymore miner): 0,010362521 ETH/dag - which is extrapolated to year 3,782320273 ETH
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 580 4Gb vs 8Gb on: February 08, 2018, 10:07:45 PM
Hello everybody. I have a Sapphire RX 580 4Gb, with modded BIOS (including memory timings) and overclocked until instability (1050/2020). It run under windows 10 with mining drivers, and Im having arround 25,5 Mh/s. I tried a lot of things trying to reach the "oficial" 30Mh/s that these cards are supposed to make. I even change my card for another one, but the hashes remain the same. After reading the experiences of several people with my same card and same hashes, i realized that 25 Mh/s are pretty OK for this card.

Now im thinking about building a dedicated mining rig with six Sapphire RX 580, and i wonder if the 8Gb version will reach more easily these "oficial" 30Mh/s

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

My Sapphire Nitro RX 580 - 8 GB runs at 32 Mh/s. MSI RX 580 - 8 GB runs at 30Mh/s. I had some issues with getting them up as well in the beginning. It was due to a bug int my AMD drivers. I uninstalled them with DDU and installed the last blockchain drivers.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how long have your video cards lived mining 24/7? on: February 08, 2018, 01:59:15 PM
Nobody can tell you when a specific unit will fail, but there are tips that will generally extend the life of your hardware.

Keep core temps low (subjective, but generally below 80C for 24/7 operation. Although some have stories of running cards at core temps near 90-100C, none of them would truly recommend that practice in general). Do note that you generally have diminishing returns on this (for example, cooling from 60C to 55C probably offers smaller lifetime benefits than 80C down to 75C).

Avoid unnecessary strain on the fans (no need to run fans at 100% just to get below 60C, or whatever). Use cheap box fans to supplement, but avoid causing turbulence with the integrated fans. Also remove dust buildups as-needed (varies based on the air quality of your mining location)

Avoid excessive overclocking. For example, excessive memory overclocks can cause artifacting, which is a symptom of an unstable overclock that may cause permanent damage, and this symptom might not be noticed without having a display connected to each graphics card.

Use a quality PSU. A PSU made by a reputable OEM (particularly Seasonic, FSP, SuperFlower, and some others) generally has a better chance of consistently providing clean power to your cards, rather than flaky no-name PSUs which may have more irregularities.

I have 7700 and 7800 series cards from 2012 that still work fine today (used for mining from mid-2012 to early-2015, then fired up again in 2017.). A good friend of mine still has some 5000 series cards from 2010 that are still operational (but not actually used for mining anymore).

Thanks for the info; Very usefull. They run currently at 75 degrees and I have additional fans installed. So I guess it should be fine like that).
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH switch to PoS will kill GPU mining but everybody seems pretty relaxed on: February 08, 2018, 12:37:29 PM
They are indeed saying this for quite a while. So let's first see when and if it will happen. if it happens we will shift to other coins. If not profitable we will stop mining.

I hope that by that time i have my investment back, which is pretty good on its way.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin or Etherium? on: February 07, 2018, 09:54:18 PM
I have both of them, but more Ethereum. As I think Ethereum has more potential as there are more companies using the Ethereum platform to develop new apps.

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU for mining Ethereum on: February 07, 2018, 06:53:34 PM
I have chosen as well fro AMD RX 580, 8 GB. They are easier to find and are cheaper than the NVIDIA ones (at least for me).  The RX570 is good as well, less hash but as well less power usage. So you need to see what is most important to you.

HI,

Indeed Laptops are not made to mine. However if you want to play a little you can mine cryptonight or light algorithms. for example Aon. Other coins that mine easy on a CPU are electroneum and intesecoin. If they are good for in the future I don't know.
