I have received 6xS1 Antminers yesterday. 2 Out of 6 of these Antminers was not working properly! Their Fan was not working and when I opened their Fan I understood that they are for sure Second Hand, The Radiator behind Fan was full of dust and it certainly show that Bitmain is selling his worked S1 Antminers to market! It is not a good way of business!!! This is a picture of My Dusty second hand, received S1 Antminer: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fforgeco.in%2Fimages%2FSecond_Hand_S1_s.jpg&t=663&c=ma15KQQIOIAmQA) For more quality picture visit here: http://forgeco.in/images/Second_Hand_S1.jpgHi, Please PM us your order ID, our tech guy will help you out. May you confirm above board dated 16/12/2013? All units shipped out recently must be assembled with new boards, which were produced recently. I sent you the Order ID's Also all boards I received before 29/5/2014 are dated 16/12/2013 They all ordered within last month. I never received an S1 with a spec of dust on it and I get them about every week. Either very bad luck or I call BS

Help one of my blades always dies:
- I need to factory reset it for it to start working again. - Sometimes shows no xxx's, sometimes 1 x and other times all xxxx's - I have the latest firmware. - out of my 12 s1's only one with problem so I swapped PSUs and same problem. - It runs fine for about 24 hours and has the lowest hw error % of all my miners so that is odd. - Don't see any errors in the log files but not sure what to look for.
I guess next step is to measure voltage and ohms unless anybody has some ideas.

Use cx430 see my review: CX430 with y splitter works fine for OC ant and draws 430watts at the wall. So the ant is drawing 360 watts and PSU is 83% efficent st this load.
|
|
|
Just use your cx430 with 4 pin to 6 pin adapter to power the ant. Overclocked it pulls 360watts and your psu has 30amp rail so it will be fine. I have a cx430 and will make a video to shut up all these peeps saying you need this and that

Consider the efficiency of these units 70-75%? and you can calculate power savings 6 months or a year down the road if you are using to mine btc 24 hours a day.
Ive not used that specific unit but I haven't come across a server grade psu made in the last 3-5 years that has been below 88% efficiency personally. As we know psu highest efficiency is most likely at 50% load and not as efficient at 20% or 100% load. You can see here alot of comparison of name brand server psu: http://www.plugloadsolutions.com/80PlusPowerSupplies.aspxYou will notice the majority is at Bronze 85% and less. And at lower load 20% or highest load 100% Brozne 85 is only about 81-82% The second highest category is regular Bronze only 80% efficiency. This is not even including the many many server psu on the market that dont even have a 80 Plus rating (probably Chinese, or fake) : so they are much less and into the 70% range obviously. You are correct I tested my Dell server PSUs and they use 860-870watts per 2 S1s at the wall. This is the exact same as my thermaltake bronze PSU. My EVGA and Corsair golds use exactly 800watts at the wall for the same 2 miners. Doing the math the difference per month in electricity would take a long time to offset the initial savings savings of buying a server PSU. The 60 watts savings for the Gold psu per day at .16 per kwh running 24/7 for a year would save $84 For platinum about $125 a year. Amazon for $170 Platinum Corsair 860 http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Professional-860-Watt-Platinum-AX860/dp/B00A0HZMKG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400395186&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+platinum+860So $45 for plat psu 860 watts and great resale value I think is good deal Fixed I meant to say my Platinums use 400watts per overclocked S1 at the wall. Also, buy used Platinum PSUs on ebay for cheap

This Delta fan(240cfm) being used as the pull fan lowered temps from 49 to 40: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835213001The problem is: - cost - uses 25w - noise - buying adapters for 4 pin I tried a basic 120mm fan and it made no difference. There must be something between the delta and something more reasonable that will work.

Looking to buy pci-express connectors and pins to make my own cables but most of the sites like frozencpu want like .5-1$ each. There must be some sites to buy these in quantity at reasonable prices. Also, where is the best place to buy different gauge wire? (Home Depot, Lowes, online)? I figured getting the supplies would be the easy part but guess I was wrong. Any advice?

hey guys just wanted to check something based on the current difficulty i am projected to make 2.7 BTC / mth... is that solo mining or through a pool? thanks again everyone for the advise / help...
That would be through a pool like ghash.io, multipool.us, btcguild, Eligius...etc. Solo mining you wouldn't find a block anytime soon.

how do you get to .75v? Just add more graphite I would assume.
|
|
|
Since these are basically the same chips as the s1 why is it so hard to overclock these to 1.2th/s? That is only 20gh/s per board.
I would think down the road we should see better results pumping these up.

Wasn't BFL going to give preorder people a Monarch imperial and the regular monarch? If not in all honesty it is only worth 1.5btc. Like the guy above jump on that class action suit and/or try to get refund from them.

Shouldn't you become an expert on the subject matter before investing 3M dollars? Also, why wouldn't you hire a highly experienced bitcoin vet for advice.
If you have no background in mining and the economics of it I wouldn't recommend getting into it until you yourself spend 4+ months mining.
