41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your thoughts about Bitcoin in years to come on: October 23, 2021, 09:22:59 PM
Governments are already intervening because they are scared of what bitcoin could achieve. China banning it eight times.* The US government passing draconian and impossible-to-comply-with reporting laws.
China banning bitcoin 18 times according to this article https://www.wired.co.uk/article/china-ban-bitcoin-cryptocurrencies Governments are starting to get serious about banning bitcoin so this is the answer to what this thread is all about, bitcoin to rule the world and dumping the paper money,  it is still hard to realize if that will happen one day because other country like China are now declaring it illegal.

*Is it eight? Is it more? How can you ban something eight times? All you are doing when you ban something multiple times is proving that every time you've tried to ban it you have failed. Such is the censorship resistance of bitcoin.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/fortune.com/2021/09/27/china-bitcoin-ban-crypto-crackdown-price/amp/ It is said in this article that China is getting serious right now about banning bitcoin, no room for discussion, no gray areas.  I agree with you, Banning it multiple times clearly denotes that bitcoin has the potential to destablized the existing financial infrastracture that the governments are wary about it. The government use its power to prevent anything that is threat to their governance, how can ordinary people resist?

Fiat is much more easily manipulated. The difference is that it is the government which can manipulate fiat, which of course the government thinks is absolutely fine. But if you introduce a currency for the people that the government can't manipulate, such as bitcoin, well then the government starts to take issue with it.
Yes I agree that fiat money can be manipulated like if the government will print too much and we will have excessive money supply then hyperinflation might also occur. However fiat money became only valuable because the government says it does and people agree and recognize its value and use it as a currency. It is the same with bitcoin,  people believe it so hence the demand continues to grow but if people prefers to use bitcoin over fiat I doubt government would not intervene.
43  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your thoughts about Bitcoin in years to come on: October 23, 2021, 03:17:45 AM
Fiat money has had value so far because all other better means of exchange that were always available for people have been prohibited or restricted by the governments.

What are these kind of medium that are much better and always available to people than fiat? How come these are prohibited?
However, precious metals, while being good instruments for exchanging value because of their properties and limited supply, can hardly serve as money today because you can't send them electronically, they are heavy, poorly transportable entities. Moreover, being of physical nature, they seem easy to steal or confiscate, which is what happened when governments decided they want the gold standard no longer.

It is because the government sees so many disadvantages using gold as a standard monetary system that is why it failed.  One is what you have mentioned above, it is cumbersome to carry gold to pay for certain transactions. Gold could also be manipulated, people can hoard and it could limit the money supply.
Now we have bitcoin that possesses useful monetary properties of precious metals while being a digital currency that is out of control of governments. Bitcoin doesn't need to be coercively imposed on people nor does it need to be protected by dubious legal tender laws. People should naturally come to the conclusion that bitcoin is the best form of money we have ever had or could imagine.
But bitcoin is not widely accepted yet, some countries are already closing thier doors to this cryptos. How can ordinary people use it if the that country's government declare it is illegal?

What will life after the dump of fiat looks like?
What is your prospect about Bitcoin in the next century?

Yeah. We all can see how Bitcoin is becoming purpular rapidly everyday , everyone talks about Bitcoin and everyone who knows what Bitcoin is all wants to roll with it because they see the future in Bitcoin and they understand where Bitcoin is going. Even on how Btc is elevating it cant dump fiat because fiat is the property  of the government.

Yes I agree. While bitcoin has been embraced and recognized as valuable as an investment and income generating currency but it still required more support from government to be declared as legal tender and will replace the fiat money.  Fiat money has value because the government  has issued it and declared as legal tender, it still can't be dump yet.

Learning from your mistakes can improve your self development. Your mistakes can guide you from what you should do and what not. Here in the forum, if you don't read the rules, you'll probably fail. There are a lot of newbies who failed.

Most users whom had their account permanently banned is the cause of plagiarism. Newbies, who are not knowledgeable is easily caught by plagiarism. I understand them because they are new but still, they should have ask someone who had experience that can help them. Some who are caught by plagiarism are seniors, those who achieved high rank who purposely did it because they are lazy.

Bitcoin has a lot of opportunities just for you, so even if you got banned, you can always create another and make your mistakes as a lesson to avoid being banned again.

Newbies should read the rules before posting.

It is inevitable that we can make mistakes, no one is immune to it as we are all human and we are not perfect. But you can't learn anything from a mistake until you admit it, own it and fix it. But why solely rely on your own mistakes to learn where you can learn faster through the mistakes committed by others? Also, mistakes and failures are not the same thing, mistakes can still be corrected and fix while failure is the end result of all the mistakes you keep on doing, yet you can't fix it but you can start over and move on and get valuable wisdom from it.

These pointers are helpful, everyone should take time to read this as this could help to avoid to fall for a scam. Scammers are getting smarter and taking advantage on everything that will make you fall into their trap and take part with your money. It is important to be always suspicious and take some time to do a bit more research.

I have read this article that states the five psychological reasons on why people fall for scams and how to avoid them, here is the link. https://theconversation.com/five-psychological-reasons-why-people-fall-for-scams-and-how-to-avoid-them-102421

You contradict yourself. Write that the methods of deception are becoming more modern with every year, and even scammers are getting smarter, but you yourself offer an article that is more than 4 years old. Trust me, there is fresher information out there if you want to look smart.

And if on the subject, everyone should ask themselves why the hell is this person writing to me? Why is he inviting me to participate in his story? Are there really few in the world who could also receive such letters? Asking yourself, you should think that you are not unique, which means that this scammer is looking for another sucker to steal his money.
There is no need to create the illusion that there are kind people on the Internet who are ready to share their property.

What I mean about the article I shared even if it is old is the psychological reasons on WHY people fall into their trap not HOW they scammed them. And what I refer to about the pointers are the lists of advices written by Kentrolla  that at least helpful to us, newbies.  Scammers being smart is as you said they are becoming more modern as they adapt to new technologies and target their victims.   Sorry, I don't want to look smart it is just that I relate myself to that article because I was once a victim of scam because I listen to my heart more than my head if you know what I mean. I was scammed by my own kin and that was hurtful.

Some of the scams seems very stupid i just wonder how they really fall for it  Undecided

Yes it is true, it seems very stupid and too good to be true but somehow people wanna try their luck and some are just credulous. In my case, I was once a victim of a scam because I fully trust my close cousin that he will not betray me but blood is not always thicker than water. At first, he persuaded me to invest just a small amount because I was skeptical. Initially it was good, my money grow and he always assure me that this investment is legit, showed me some evidence and it was pretty convincing so I invested more. Then one day, he was gone and all my money. I managed to contact him and he said it was a scam, there were lots of complaint filed against that company but the odds of getting our money back is so slim. Lesson learned.

When someone message me through telegram and convinced me to invest, I automatically blocked it as I don't wanna fall again into the scammer trap.
49  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mass media manipulation - Rating system as way out to freedom ? on: October 18, 2021, 08:09:36 AM
Well. Good idea, but...

This new web will be simple considered as conspirational media. Every social media will censore it, some biggest search enginess will not index it etc. How do you want to prevent this? And what do you expect to happen, when some gov will ask to delete some comments and articles?

Yes I agree with you, this is a great idea but I think it is difficult to realize and the government and all the big people as well as news media companies will surely oppose to this idea. And who will take their time to create this anonymous-founded platform and sustain it without stake holder? It is too complicated.

Do you think crypto will be the future for payments in space ?

How will they pay people long distance ... from planet A to planet B ?
I think this question should be asked first of all to Elon Musk. He is going to colonize Mars and he will somehow pay off with the people who will live there. Most likely, Elon Musk can offer his Dogecoin if his passion for this cryptocurrency is serious. I think that at first there may even be a natural exchange, and then the money will still be needed. We do not yet know what it might be. This will depend on many reasons.

hahaha right, lets wait for Elon Mask to announce if his grand plan for establishing a human settlement on Mars will be successful. If it is possible to  live on other planet then that will be the time to realize how can we transact using cryptocurrencies from planet to planet. I hope I am still alive by the time if he could manage to do it but right now lets be realistic.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the role of fiat currency disappear against crypto. on: October 18, 2021, 04:40:23 AM
Talking about replacing fiat money with cryptocurrencies is like discussing what will happen in the next century. Bitcoin is a decade old but still in its infancy stage especially in the developing countries. Only a small percentage of the population know about it and owns a bit. Still, there is so much to learn specially for non tech-savvy on how to purchase, sell and keep track of bitcoin. Perhaps, in the many years to come, eventually, all the people will be crypto ready but right now lets wait for it to grow and mature.
lol but it's true Cheesy
even though instead of bothering to talk about things that will never end when talking about bitcoin and fiat and the advantages and disadvantages of each, I think it would be wiser if we use these two types of currencies to support the life we live.
because indeed, when talking about bitcoin and fiat, they will always have their own opinions, whether they support the change or indeed those who support bitcoin as a payment option only.

Yeah right, after all it is just money, both can be use for payments and a store of value. The only difference is that cryptocurrencies is a digital currency, intangible, exist virtually while fiat money is the real world money. Right now, we used the fiat money to buy crypto so they should co exist. Still, the bitcoin supply has not reach its cap, lets just wait what will happen in the future.
52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to spot an investment scam on: October 16, 2021, 07:25:14 PM
I'll go with a simple answer, if it's too good to be true then it's an investment scam. All the exposed investment scams have one thing in common which is the mouth watering offers they use to decieve their victims. Simply overcome greed and you have avoided 90% of the investment scams out there then improve on your knowledge about the industry. Don't stay ignorant as that doesn't help matters, always keep yourself update as some investment scams comes with moderate promises as well. The only advisable way to invest your money is to do it yourself don't trust anyone or platform to do that for you.
I've seen a lot of these scams specially in Telegram when I was just starting in crypto things. Left and right, there has been lots of promises that has been done just to deceived the innocent victims. We should be aware on how they works so we will not become a victim of their scam again.
Contrary, recently, there have been really good investments that I thought are too good to be true, but are actually worth investing in. Like these blockchain games where you can earn by just playing.

The widespread use of social media  gives opportunities for criminals to to do their dirty work because they can hide their true identity. From my experience, I got a lot of offers in telegram to invest in their company and promises higher returns. Some will ask my wallet ID and  they will do the trading and will return my money after 24 hours plus profits. They keep on calling and it is so annoying.  The people who makes promises are scammers so careful on that. Just do your own research and think a million times before investing.
53  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to spot an investment scam on: October 16, 2021, 06:25:46 PM
I don't have any experience yet but this is actually pretty good. Although it is hard to determine a scammer since they are very skillful like it's too good to be true but for me this thread is still helpful. It can guide users who are unexperienced like me.

When investing we should always think twice and analyze the person whom your investing for to avoid being scammed. We should not take risk because we might fall down. We should be careful and i hope on my first investing, i won't get dragged down by these filthy scammers.

There was a time I tend to skip the "analyze the person whom your investing" part specially it was my sister and close cousin whom i was dealing with. I fully trust them that they won't let me down and guess what, they let me put up money to an investment scam. Lesson learned, always be skeptical, even it comes from family, always do your own research. If it seems to good to be true, then beware. It is surely a scam.

I have a good paying job that comes with lots of incentives I have been working here for quite some time now but my issue is that this job is very much demanding and my boss is very strict. I barely have time to rest and for now I can't afford to quit because it's just the key source of livelihood for me.

How long would it take to master a course in Blockchain development and is it a good option for someone who choose to take up a career in tech?

There is a saying that goes "we work to live, not live to work". It is crucial for our wellbeing to balance our work and our personal life but i know it is sometimes difficult specially as you say that your work is very demanding. All I can say is, choose a career that you love so you can feel you are not working everyday. Whichever your passion and your heart is, go with it.

What will life after the dump of fiat looks like?
I'm also this kind of believer about bitcoin and blockchain before but we have to realize that not every country is set to adopt bitcoin as a replacement to the usual money system that we have.

I quite agree on this, in the developed countries bitcoin has become viable currency and some merchants are now accepting it as a payment for a product or service. Bitcoin has a large user base in this rich countries but how about in the developing countries? I think only a small fraction of people knows it and have experience with it.

What is your prospect about Bitcoin in the next century?

If by chance I'm still alive by that time. It's really unknown, technology is very quick in upgrading and just like how bitcoin has taken a lot of attention from different masses. There can be another the same thing that might emerge but for now, it's sure that bitcoin is here to stay.

Century is too far to discuss, all i know that bitcoin is constantly evolving and that is good news.

So this guy in the video means  that all gays are infected with these parasites, because these parasites will cause them to think oh im gay. It is so gross to think somebody carrying a lot of parasites in their body and all they have to do is to treat themselves and they will be back to normal. I had a good laugh watching this video, it is entertaining though like watching a documentary comedy.

It "cured" Tash so it must be true. Or maybe he's bisexual. Either way, good for him, but I wouldn't suggest anyone use turpentine as medication, that doesn't sound healthy.

Lucky for Tash he found a cure and has been well, but for me, self-medication is still very dangerous, better consult your doctor for proper medication. Well, this could be a great discovery that should not be missed, more research and study should be conducted for this gay causing parasite. Cheesy

Just about everyone has some parasites, some have a lot in the body. As we all know viruses are parasites and in recent times a lot of sick people around. Some parasites are real monsters, some are just piggy.

So have you done parasite cleansing and your cured now? Are you also a living testimony that this parasite that hijack reproductive system does exist that can make you feeling gay? How long do you feel the symptoms and how this parasite transmit from  person to person? Share some of your experience so we can be aware and all the gays in the world that they are just being hijacked with these monsters or parasites and they can be free from its influence and be cured for  being gay.

I was on verge of getting offended when you said newbies, noobs Tongue (if you play video games you would understand)
It's entirely up to you if how you would interpret what I said. Of course I play video games and I understand. It's just that real newbies can follow this guide and those who are not newbies anymore can do it themselves without my help. Anyway, thanks for letting me know. There could be someone else that could be offended Tongue.

Oh No, don't feel bad or sorry for how you address it, you did a great job actually. I won't take it as offensive because for some people like me who are not that tech-savvy, this thread is very helpful. I can now easily view who quoted or reacted my post and we can have a meaningful exchanging of ideas. So many new posts everyday, you can easily overlook those feedbacks and comments that need answers.  Cool
