41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When/How do you cash out? If ever? on: February 27, 2018, 08:43:12 PM
When considering this decision, make sure your portfolio is well diversified and not lopsided in any one investment.  Buy low and sell high  Wink.

45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin now you think had a good future on: February 27, 2018, 07:52:49 PM
When deciding in which coin to invest you can either blindly follow suggestions by others or make your own informed descision based on some criteria:

  • What problem does the project attempt to solve?
  • Is it a solution looking for a problem?
  • Is there active development behind the project? (check Github activity)
  • Has the team produced anything but a whitepaper?
  • Are there established competitors which are much further into delivering a working product?
  • Cross reference developers against previous scam projects
  • Current market capitalization of the coin

I like this advise.  I'd add that you should look out for opportunities with a strong existing business where the token offers a new, differentiating impact.  Check out the ICO for RLCoin, an enterprise solution for loyalty: www.rlcoin.io.  The product has existing traction with 250 clients and partners in Europe and Asia.

47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are altcoins from bitcoin? on: February 27, 2018, 07:30:32 PM
US stocks are valued in USD.  Altcoins are kind of like stocks of the crypto world, although it often also has a transactional value.  In the crypto world, altcoins are often transacted in Ethereum and Bitcoin so they are valued in the those crypto currencies.  The more buyers of a coin will cause the price to increase, and visa versa.

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is The Problem You Experience When Analyzing Altcoins? on: February 27, 2018, 07:20:04 PM
Jumping on a coin because it is getting noticed in some circles is one strategy.  Another is to do proper due diligence on the team and business plan up front, looking for trustworthy players and medium to long term value.  I'd look for opportunities with strong existing businesses where tokens take the model to the next level.

With this in mind, check out the ICO for RLCoin, an enterprise solution for loyalty: www.rlcoin.io.  The product has traction with 250 clients and partners in Europe and Asia.

50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prediction bitcoin in the future on: February 27, 2018, 02:22:42 AM
We are having this conversation on bitcointalk and not in the Financial Times or CNBC so the response is bound to be enthusiastic.  IMHO, BTC continues to benefit tremendously from its first mover advantage.  Unknowns in the future that may impact bitcoin include the regulatory environment and technology innovations that may surpass existing crypto currency leaders.

Altcoins continue to be a good place to look for value.  Check out the ICO for RLCoin, an enterprise solution for loyalty: www.rlcoin.io.  The product has traction with 250 clients and partners in Europe and Asia.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that other coins move faster? on: February 27, 2018, 01:53:46 AM
Bitcoin continues to have first mover advantage and wins the perception game.  However, altcoins, when backed by a substantial existing business, can move very quick.  Check out the ICO for RLCoin, an enterprise solution for loyalty: www.rlcoin.io.  The product has traction with 250 clients and partners in Europe and Asia.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: February 27, 2018, 01:30:44 AM
Given anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) concerns, some countries are taking steps that they believe will disrupt any potential illegal activities such as tax evasion, scams, money laundering, etc.  Will they succeed is still open for question.

A mortgage traction like that happened in the Seattle area not long ago: https://www.seattletimes.com/business/real-estate/bitcoin-like-cryptocurrency-used-to-buy-home-in-tukwila-likely-a-first-for-seattle-area-market/.  Before the transaction closed, the crypto was converted to USD.
