41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 26, 2021, 11:08:47 PM
The Lakers are truly out of any sort of title contention, in my opinion.

Their play is simply subpar for any serious contender. LeBron is carrying most of the load and he is simply not getting the help he needs.

I can't believe that people thought picking up Stanley Johnson & Darren Collison was going to help...
42  Economy / Gambling / Re: Self-exclusion/ban who to be blame on: December 26, 2021, 10:42:53 PM
Lots of users from this forum have come up with one complaint or the other on how their deposits were withheld by gambling sites after going on self-exclusions, but I confusion why should a user go ahead to make deposits or request for withdrawal after accounts are banned or are its part of the rules of gambling sites to allow for withdrawal from ban account.
In this situation who is to blame the gambling site or the player?

The casino definitely deserves some blame in my opinion.

However, there is not much they can do other than to say that the user cannot use their original account - but people can obviously sign up to as many accounts as they want given the anonymous nature of bitcoin gambling.

Sometimes, it's just unfortunate and you can't pinpoint fault to anyone.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHIBA Fever on: December 25, 2021, 10:14:48 PM
It's getting a bit out of hand now.

But oh well, this is the cost of having fast, cheap transactions and token creation capacities at the disposal of retail investors. And if anyone is actually stupid enough to be pouring money into these things, they probably deserve their fate anyway.

None of these projects have any intrinsic value, hopefully people understand that.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best DeFi Projcet 2021-2022 on: December 25, 2021, 10:05:13 PM
In your opinion, what is the DeFi project to keep on radar and study and which DeFi projects do you consider new gems and have you already bought them?

I think that Balancer is very interesting. You could take a look.

But overall, there is a lot of risk in DeFi right now and a lot of projects are overhyped. There is an insane amount of leverage in the system as well which means that there could be a lot of risk if token prices start falling massively.

I would stay away from purchasing governance tokens for now for any protocol, and be very careful in yield farming/staking.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to invest in a possible Bear market? on: December 25, 2021, 09:56:18 PM
What is better to pour your assets into in a possible bear market? Is it better to keep them in stableconies or not leave the market and pour funds into more stablecoins?
Personally, I prefer not to leave the market, but to transfer assets from tokens to tokens. Think that blockchain projects and their tokens will be the best for this, since as the market grows, all money begins to go from the risky to more risky and liquid projects / tokens. Therefore, they must return in the opposite order. But you also need to take into account the prospects of the project itself, because if it does not have development, then money will not be poured into it either in a bull market or in a bear market. At the moment, for example, I am shielding a good idea to pour my funds into tokens young blockchains such as Near Protocol, Solana, Avalanche. Because they have perspectives and good technology and users who support them at all times.

I think that what you can do is get into stables and yield farm on them if you are a bit scared of a crash.

However, definitely don't put all your money into stables because that would just mean you don't benefit from the rebound.

I would actually rotate out of stables into crypto assets if I had the funds to do so - to take advantage of the crash.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A lot of the Really Popular Fast and Cheap Blockchain are Centralized on: December 25, 2021, 08:45:45 PM
Unfortunately there is pretty much always going to be a tradeoff between centralization and transaction speed...

Until someone comes up with a one-size-fits-all blockchain solution, that is.

Right now, ETH is arguably one of the most decentralized platforms out there for DeFi but it has super high fees. Which is why I think that people are actually starting to neglect BTC given the fact that BTC has the biggest market cap and super low fees, and is the most decentralized by a wide margin.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stick to altcoins or switch to Bitcoin or stablecoins? on: December 25, 2021, 07:51:34 PM
Market is witnessing some gradual dumps and it's a know fact that altcoins will bleed more than bitcoin and they will be stable or recover only when bitcoin recovers and pumps. So will it be wise to hold on to Altcoin or switch to Bitcoin or convert the funds into stablecoins and wait for market to either start recovering or to dump further to buy more in order to reach breakthrough for the lose which we might have incurred till now.

Stick to your plans.

If you were holding a bitcoin only strategy, then stick to that. But if you were already in alts, then stick to that as well.

Eventually the crypto market will reward you, it's just a matter of time. But hyperactive trading can result in a ton of fees that will be almost impossible to recoup.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Satisfied what you gained with altcoins in 2021? on: December 24, 2021, 09:54:56 PM
Yes, I got pretty good returns on large cap coins like ETH, AVAX and BNB over the year.

I know a lot of people who got in via the NFT hype, DOGE or SHIB and made thousands of percent in returns.

But these things are more random fluctuations in time rather than anything substantial that can be replicated, so nobody should stress about missing out on these large run-ups.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How good is staking coins? on: December 24, 2021, 09:17:21 PM

........................

Yes, staking is good for those people who are going to hold their crypto for a certain time. Here is a reason: if you hold your crypto for years, yes the value will change as a dollar, but your crypto amount will remain the same. For example, if you hold 1 etherium for 4 years, when the price is $2000, and after 4 years, the price becomes $6000, you will get only $6000. No doubt it is a profit. If you stake your ethereum at a 30% yearly return, after 4 years, your 1 ethereum will be 2.2 ethereum. Just think, if 1 ethereum is $6000, then your total amount will be $13200. As a result, you can now compare your holding and staking profit.

This is not a good way to think about it.

You want to think about your ownership as a percentage of the entire network supply, not just as a crypto amount.

If you stake your coins, you are merely keeping up with inflation within the network, whereas if you don't stake, you're actually losing share of the network.
50  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲ETTA Games🚀 | ettagames.io | Provably Fair | Dice Games | Free Faucet on: December 24, 2021, 08:58:22 PM
It seems like that anyone is able to register on your site and get the 200 satoshi bonus?

Is there any sort of restriction that comes with that, e.g. you have to verify your identity to withdraw any wins, or is it more no-strings-attached?

If the latter then this is actually one of the best faucet programs out there right now. Just watch out for abuse.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Viable Altcoin for the moment on: December 24, 2021, 08:28:58 PM
In addition to the already presented long-term viable altcoins, I am optimistic about Solana. The coin has proven its promise and relevance in the crypto space. I think this is a promising coin with a good future development.

I disagree.

I think that there is a lot of hype around SOL for absolutely no reason.

I think that they will really suffer from ETH2.0 coming out with PoS, because the main reason why people use them is due to the high gas fees on ETH right now.
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting to Risk Free Fights on: December 24, 2021, 01:12:26 AM
No fight is ever risk free.

That's why the term "puncher's chance" exists - you simply can't count someone out.

Otherwise, if this was a repeatable and profitable strategy, why would bookies even offer these low odds?
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My crypto lessons in 2021 on: December 23, 2021, 11:41:12 PM
Quote
1. Still I ended losing more money than I made, I was sitting on 30,000$ profit last month but I failed to take profit just because of 100k BTC rumour that looks like reality

This is honestly a rookie mistake.

Always take profits when you can, especially if you are on leverage/not prepared to hold a position for eternity.

The markets will go up in the long run but it's impossible for it to go up continuously in the short term as well. That would constitute something of a real ponzi scheme.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com & responsible gambling? on: December 23, 2021, 10:05:26 PM
May I ask how much exactly you lost by doing this?

If you really wanted to pursue this case then you could possibly get in touch with the ombudsman in the appropriate jurisdiction for these matters, although I honestly don't think that they will be able to track down the Stake team given their remote nature.

It's a lesson to be learned, don't expect others to take responsibility for your actions.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is not a rival of Bitcoin on: December 23, 2021, 09:28:00 PM
I actually think that it is entirely possible for ETH to flip bitcoin.

It's probably a matter of time as well given that most of the new money that is coming into the cryptospace is from ETH holders and not BTC - although we've seen a revival of BTC maxis such as Jack Dorsey.

ETH just encompassing a lot more ground compared to BTC, including smart contracts etc.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin(s) would you buy now? on: December 22, 2021, 11:18:54 PM
I would actually go with something like XMR.

I think that monero has been severely overlooked and the importance of privacy during these times should be more apparent than it is.

ZEC as well if you want to hold a hedge in case XMR dips, but ZEC is more centralized.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Altcoin for December ? on: December 22, 2021, 10:44:21 PM
I'm going to go with ETH.

DeFi projects are overvalued outside of ETH because they simply have no adoption.

ETH is also undervalued against BTC in my opinion because of the fact that it processes a lot more transactions, so my price target on it will be 0.1 BTC at some stage in the next year.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What about the new alts? on: December 22, 2021, 10:35:33 PM
What coins do you think are promising? I think there will soon be a good opportunity to buy alts in the long term, so I am starting to consider options for purchases. Interested in mina, cdt and sand. What do you think of these coins? And what coins do you think are promising?

Sand is definitely interesting.

However, I think that it is overbought due to the NFT hype and will have to correct as a matter of time.

Honestly, there isn't a lot of worthwhile projects right now to invest in given the hype of the past few months driving valuations insanely high. Just invest in bluechip coins instead.
59  Economy / Gambling / Re: Where can I sell my crypto gambling account? on: December 22, 2021, 09:58:36 PM
Only stupid people would buy crypto gambling site accounts from others. The fact is that gambling itself is a risky proposition due to the house edge against you in literally every single game. Purchasing these high level accounts seems tempting, but your chances of earning profit in the short-term and long-term drastically decreases due to the added risk factor involved here. Don't be stupid people.

Agreed. I would suggest against it.

It is pretty much guaranteed to be against the ToS of whatever account that you are trying to sell.

Not to mention the fact that if your account is KYC'd, then it could be exploited by whoever buys it to get it permanently banned/tied to your personal record. Definitely not something that you'd want to happen.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot providers... which one is the best?! on: December 22, 2021, 09:30:48 PM
Without a doubt, I'd go with Pragmatic Play.

They are simply one of the most established players in the market and have consistently offered a good product.

And their games are a lot more creative compared to the rest, which is something that I like.
I'm not sure how effective is the pragmatic play, but I find the product having good winning edge against others. This might've happened out of luck, but I've seen more people making wins through pragmatic play. Almost every product were similar, maybe some difference that causes players choose one over the other. Cheesy

I don't think that it's because they necessarily have the best RTP.

It's just that they offer a lot of the slots that are popular with "influencers" on youtube, which means that they get played more, and you think that it is more likely to win big.

In reality it's all the same. But I still like the games they offer just aesthetically.
