I've pretty much confirmed that its a scam. Check out my posts in their thread.

Also, the video was uploaded in October, and the console says November**.

The video is fake. I looked up the username he was using on eligius.st and it doesn't exist.
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: December 26, 2013, 11:04:50 PM
Has anyone been able to contact them to see if they are still on schedule?
46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hashblaster, from Essen Germany on: December 25, 2013, 03:33:50 AM
Either its legit, or a really good scam.
47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 24, 2013, 09:59:33 PM
From the ToS:

Quote
Except for delivery dates explicitly guaranteed in the order confirmation, delivery dates communicated or acknowledged by Hashfast are approximate only
Quote
Buyer will give Hashfast written notice of failure to deliver and thirty (30) days within which to cure, unless the order confirmation explicitly guarantees a delivery date
Quote
Buyer’s sole and exclusive remedy after such cure period or guaranteed delivery date is to cancel Huh the affected and undelivered portions of the order.
Quote
No order, Agreement or any part thereof may be rescheduled or cancelled without Hashfast’s prior written consent.

So!

- How may I get a guaranteed delivery date while ordering, please ?

- In case I cancel my order, can I hope for a refund ?

- In case I cancel my order after you failed to deliver at a guaranteed date and you don't agree to send a written consent to acknowledge that cancellation, what happens ?

Was looking through old posts and found this.
48  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining at Home dying out on: December 24, 2013, 03:55:41 PM
At this point, with the difficulty going out of control, it probably is a better investment to just buy BTC.
49  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 23, 2013, 02:48:13 PM
If HF is going to use the new tos for the B1 guaranteed delivery date then they are going to use it for the refund policy.
What are you blathering about?
You argue about whether or not HF is going to refund in USD or BTC, when the answer is quite obvious. They are going to refund in USD just as the current terms of sale states. Then you argue that the current terms of sale doesn't apply to B1 customers. However HF is going to follow the new terms of sale regardless of it being applicable to B1 customers. They didn't follow the original terms of sale for the delivery date, and they are certainly not going to follow it in regards to refunds.

Harrison, Hashfast is not legally free to impose new terms on old sales.  The terms that apply to any given sale are those terms stated at the time of sale.  Some people seem to have great difficulty understanding this.

Now, yes, Hashfast might be silly enough to try to argue that it can apply ex post facto terms, and they might convince some dullard customers that it's okay, but such an argument won't last 5 seconds in a legal proceeding.

But the real problem for them (and us) is the October delivery fraud.

I agree, and understand that it is not legal. The point is that they don't seem to care, and probably won't until someone sues them.

(j)       REFUNDS.  Any refunds due to Buyer will be made in United States Dollars
None of batch 1 customers agreed to that terms. Will you stop, idiotic and failed puppet that you are?
Do you really think that your stupid posts will convince anyone of your agenda?

So all your orders will be shipped and delivered in the next 9 days, with a major holiday happening in the middle?

Yes, we anticipate delivery in the next 9 days or sooner.  Otherwise refunds will be issued.

Batch One is currently being tested.  All orders are being sent overnight.

If you are trying to host your BabyJet at a colo that only accepts rackmount, there may be an adapter capable of converting the ATX desktop to rails.

This is what I found:

The Baby Jet will not be able to be modded to be rack mounted. It may be possible with other cases, but not the one used for Baby Jets (I think its a corsair 750D). It is too wide to fit in a standard 19" rack. In addition, the radiator is mounted in the top of the case, if it was mounted in a rack the hot air would pool between it and the adjacent rack.

Thanks for the correction.  It's refreshing to discuss custom hardware in the 'Custom Hardware' sub for a change.

for rack mount use, airflow needs to be one way.  most data centers will only allow equipment to be used that conforms to their 'hot aisle' and 'cold aisle' plan.

a desktop pc case, can't easily be modified to get the airflow going one way.  its got fans all over the shop.   its not impossible, but its really pointless.   you would be much better off if you just took out the hashfast mobo and cooling system, and re-mount them in a rack mount pc case.

The case is still 21.5" tall, which when mounted sideways would be too big to fit in a 19" rack.

Refunding BTC using the exchange rate at the time of purchase is the same as just refunding USD.
54  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 23, 2013, 01:30:17 PM
(j)       REFUNDS.  Any refunds due to Buyer will be made in United States Dollars, and for the purposes of calculating refunds, amounts paid in Bitcoin or other virtual currencies will be deemed paid in United States Dollars at the exchange rate given by Hashfast to its customers on the order date.  Refunds for partial order cancelations or returns will be adjusted for any discounts previously given to Buyer for volume purchases.

The Baby Jet will support 3 mini-boards. I was looking back at the pictures that gateway took, and noticed 2 additional sets of mounting holes. The case being used is a Corsair Obsidian Series 750D which supports an EATX motherboard. 3 mini-boards could fit in the same space that an EATX board fits in. The 750D also supports 3 2x120mm radiators, one in the top, one in the front, and one in the bottom. The only issue that might arise is powering them, but an additional power supply or two not mounted in the case might do the job.

That post aught to be deleted. People keep believing it.
58  Bitcoin / Hardware / Rackmount or Desktop? on: December 23, 2013, 01:54:06 AM
What would you prefer? A rackmount chassis for your miner, or a desktop case?
With a rackmount chassis you have the option to purchase colocation and put the miners in a datacenter, where power is cheap.
If you want to keep the miner at home, however, a rackmount chassis might be inconvenient, and unnecessary.

Well that settles that. They clearly stated that the guaranteed delivery date was 12/31.

There are 2 pcie connectors on the pcb on each side, look at the pics of the board from earlier in this thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262052.msg3929934#msg3929934
2 connectors at 75W each is still only 150W. In order to run all 4 dies (600W) they would need to put 4x the rated current through those connectors.
They are using CoolIT CPU coolers to cool this thing off. CPU's use at most 130W. They are going to need to dissipate 4-5x as much energy as the coolers were designed for. The blog post says the 2 dies are running at 78 degrees, add another 2 and they'll be running way hotter.
I have the feeling that these things are going to fail pretty quickly unless they tone down the power usage.
