i wish i thought of that Sad
Do you copy and paste this for every coin launch?

Reminds me of Sheep Marketplace's initial reaction to their 'hack'
43  Economy / Economics / Re: Mt Gox got robbed. on: February 13, 2014, 07:35:46 PM
No it really just sounds like a lot of bs from mt gox and other questionable exchanges.  The reality is bitcoin keeps continuing on just fine while everyone on the outside panics and tries to attack it.  I'm not sure about anyone else but it it weren't for Mt Gox everything else would be fine right now.

Please someone tell me if they have had problems with the bitcoin network at all because this seems all like FUD.  Just take the Forbes interview where they continue to refuse responsibility trying to place it on the Foundation something he is apart of.  How has everyone forgotten bitcoin is decentralized, you don't call up lead developers like they are your personal tech support.  Coinbase has put the work into doing things right as well as even much smaller exchanges like Vault of Satoshi.

The fact that people are still hanging off the words of these liars is unbelievable.  IF tx mal is to blame then why can no one move fiat out of Gox either?  When it came out everyone saw it as just a distraction for mt gox and it has worked. mt gox is still fucked and nothing has changed other then them trying to bring down the entire protocol with them.
44  Economy / Economics / Re: Killer app for bitcoin on: February 13, 2014, 07:29:56 PM
Yeah what ever happened to Dark Wallet.  They were supposed to be out already no?  I sent them money and have hardly heard anything back on the project.
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: February 13, 2014, 01:53:00 AM
Ive tried reseting everything and running through it again but 192.168.1.99 still brings up nothing.  Is there something I need to do to set up my network to access 192.168.1.x I feel like I'm missing an important step which is being glossed over here, can someone please help

EDIT: I solved the problem the issue was conflicting networks trying to search the web, once I disconnected from the internet I was finally able to directly communicate with the device and set it up
46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: February 12, 2014, 11:07:42 PM
Is there a factory reset button?
47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: February 12, 2014, 10:47:38 PM
I just got my S1 but can't configure it at all, 192.168.1.99 the IP address on the unit brings up nothing.

Going through your steps here

Quote
Start Button  >>  Control Panel  >>  Network and Internet (View network status and tasks)  >>  Change adapter setting (Left side of the screen)  >>  Local Area Connection (Double Click)  >> Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then Click on “Properties”  >>  Select Use the following IP address:

When I click change adapter the Local Area Connection says Unidentified network.  Double clicking just gives me the status page so I go to properties.  When trying to modify the TCP/IPv4 Properties I fill out the IP address but then I can no longer Obtain DNS server address automatically, it forces me to fill this out.  Even when I put my DNS info in there I have no progress

Fill the IP address to 192.168.1.X  where X is anything but 0, 99, or 255 .  Leave DNS and Gateway entries blank and click ok.

Connect the S1 to your computer ethernet port then click start and in the "run" box, type CMD.  When the command prompt opens up, type:  ping 192.168.1.99

If it the result includes: Reply from 192.168.1.99   then you're good to go and can login to the S1 through a web browser at that IP.
I just tried running through all of that and get Request timed out. 4 sent, 4 lost

Anybody else notice the net hash rate is steadily dropping? Only about .5 gh/s now.

When does the gravity well kick in? We are prime for a multipool hitting pot now that its listed on coinmarkcap and has low difficulty...
It doubled last night in an hour and has just been tanking ever since.  It dropped like a rock to 700Mh/s as quickly as we went over 1gh/s.  i miss when we were looking forward to 3gh/s now anyone could kill this coin at very low price

Who is worse for cryptos, MtGox, Keiser or Craptsy.  They all have their defenders and would say they do mare good than harm but the reality is they are a cancer.

Potcoin devs, if you're reading this

https://www.mtgox.com/press_release_20140210.html

might be a good idea to implement a safer mechanism ahead of the other coins!

I'm feeling such an attack will be more a problem for alt-coins that are traded on few exchanges than for the big dogs (which will find solutions, even if it takes btc protocol hard fork, though that might get interesting)
There is no problem MtGox is simply a scam company that is insolvent trying to buy more time, it is criminal what they are getting away with.  If I ever met the owner I wouldn't be able to stop myself, idk how lucky he's going to be.

It's already past $550, we've dropped over $100 in 15 minutes
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: MtGox reports bug in system. on: February 10, 2014, 10:39:34 AM
This sounds like complete bullshit and it is like scaring off investors is exactly what they are trying to do.

In the meantime, exchanges and wallet services - and any service sending coins directly to third parties - should be extremely careful with anyone claiming their transaction did not go through.

Note that this will also affect any other crypto-currency using the same transaction scheme as Bitcoin.

I can't believe mt.gox would make such a wild claim as saying fundamentally all crypto-currencies are bugged.  Saying exchanges shouldn't be trusted is really ironic here as well, meanwhile they continue to have nothing to back up their claim.

I'm a bag holder from much higher prices and all this resent bullshit from gox just isn't fair, everyone in this market is completely full of shit

59  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: mrugala Sapphire R9 280x GB gone to hell on: February 10, 2014, 06:08:05 AM
... My husband asked me to inform you as soon as possible. He is currently in hospital due to his meeting with one of the client... What the client did is robbed his of his wallet and password with 2 other guys. We tried reporting it to police but they said that they don't deal with "Guild Wars or World of Warcraft gold is not withing our reach, please talk with Bitcoin developer". We should get some money from the indemnity.....

I was not involved in this group buy.  But why is no one asking for police report number with city it was in?   I suspect if truly sent someone to hospital... there would be a report and most likely could be read online.  Without report number one would be lead to believe scam...
pics or it didn't happen
