A bounty could be started, that is reliant totally on community donated support.

Bounties are great. And a system that would allow the community to stake or vote towards particular bounties would even be better.

The amount of creative innovation that comes out of not taking the easy route of cash up front is what keeps the system lean, elegant and democratic. That's what makes BLK such a yet to be recognised powerhouse.

To stake this coin - profitably, how many do I have to hodl?

It's about 4% annual interest assuming a network weight of 19m. The amount of coins you hold don't change the interest percentage. Everyone gets the same.

The staking process requires negligible energy, wallet runs  >1,0% of the CPU on my pc. It can be run on a casual pc, a laptop or even a raspberry pi.

That's the Catch 22 that every coin deals with. The question that nobody objectively can answer:

"How much funds is the team entitled to?"

Many coins take a 20%, 30%, or even 60% premine. Not to mention the ICO's that are technically 100% premined but then also double dip by reserving a part of the tokens for themselves.

Not only is this a direct result of greed, which often leads to bloated costs and a dysfuncitonal short-lived company. For PoS there's a bigger problem:

Locking down a 'foundation fund' centralizes the coin. Because that fund is also able to stake, the starting team would have a substantial revenue stream and voting power, all directly taken from the community.

Blackcoin answered the question with 'ZERO, the team is entitled to ZERO funds. 0% of the coin is premined or reserved, no money is given to the team, we have to figure it out for ourselves".

And thus it came  to be that Blackcoin is uniquel 100% dispersed. Very few other coins, especialyl the staking ones, can make this  claim. It leads to difficulties. Aenemic development funding, yet still somehow managing to cope. It's difficult, but it's a price that the developers ultimately pay rather than the community.

I think it's worth noting that Blackcoin does still have active developers doing amazing stuff and have been doing so for years while the original guy who launched the coin faded into obscurity. Blackcoin is a pure community driven effort, a totally unique proposition in this day and age. And has proven itself over 4 years as reliable and solid. Maybe this thread will find some people who've never heard of it. It's worth getting involved, anyone can make a difference here.

That's key here. Nobody has leverage on this coin. Not even the original developer is able to control and use it for his agenda. That's quite impressive.

hi dev, do you have any calculator for pos reward ?

I don't like the calculator on the website. It's confusing newcomers and it doesn't specify what conditions it uses.

However, here's how you can predict how much interest you will get on a full year staking:

The staking reward is 0.98% annual interest.
This inflation is distributed according to network weight.
Typical network weight fluctuates between 18m and 21m coins staking.
There are 76.7m coins in circulation right now.
76.7 / 18 = 4.3% annual interest
76.7 / 21 = 3.6% annual interest

Which means that you can expect between 3.6% - 4.3% dividend on your wallet amount.
