I did ask CoinBase and the rep said he was not permitted to tell me. He said to call my bank and they could tell me where the ACH transfer went. I called my bank and they said they could not tell me and to call CoinBase.

Which bank does CoinBase use to do ACH transfers with clients? As the US banks have a history of shutting down bank accounts of Bitcoin related businesses, I wonder how CoinBase has been able to avoid the same fate. Any ideas?

With Bitcoin Core installed I can send BTC to anyone with Bitcoin Core installed. Is there a similar client I could install on my computer that would allow me to send XRP to someone with similar client software installed? I'd prefer a simple installer program instead of compiling code and setting up my own server.

Thanks. I did not know about the java script client. Is there client in the form of a standard Windows application, Linux Application, Mac OS application, iOS app or Android app?

If I want to transfer BTC to someone I can do that with the Bitcoin Core wallet for example. But with XRP there is no way for me to withdrawal XRP from the ripple.com website. Therefore, if ripple.com is shut down, I will not be able to send XRP to someone else. That's the difference as I see it. Does ripple have any plans to create a Ripple Core wallet to allow XRP to held outside of rippple.com?

Any centralized system of exchange of assets will eventually be shut down by governments. E-gold is a perfect example. Won't more recent examples such as Ripple eventually be shut down as well?

What makes a good development team for a crypto currency? How would you rank the development teams of the various crypto currencies?

|
|
From an economic standpoint, which factors make one cryptocurrency worth more than another?
1) current number of coins 2) maximum number of coins 3) rate of growth in the supply of coins 4) how many people/businesses accept it as a form of payment 5) total number of users 6) technical aspects of the protocol 7) number of exchanges that allow conversion to other cryptos or fiat currencies
Discuss.

As of 2013, the USA ranks 10th out of about 177 countries on the Index of Economic Freedom. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Index_of_economic_freedomWhile the US used to be higher on that index, 10th place is still not too bad. That said, there are many continuing threats to the US and Americans. Most of the Answers to these threats are in Milton and Rose Friedman book "Free to Choose". See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_to_chooseHowever, the American political leaders can not even keep their own government open so I highly doubt they could implement any of Milton Friedman's great ideas. In short, America will be its own downfall. Fiat currency, fractional reserve banking and big government will bring it down. The question is not "if", but "when".

Thanks for your interest!
Do you have a particular price that you are asking or are you just looking for bids?

With BTC there is no BTC-reward for those running the client. Would it make sense to have an alt-crypto that has a random lottery for a small amount of coin to be sent to one of the clients that is running when the next block is found? Wouldn't this encourage people to run the client separately from mining and help the network?

What makes one crypto-currency worth more than another?
1) current number of coins 2) maximum number of coins 3) number of people using 4) number and size of merchants accepting for payment 5) active development team of the protocol and wallet software 6) number of exchanges and fiat currencies supported
What else would you say makes one crypto-currency worth more than another?
