You have a 500,000 size genesis block and then go on to say "no premine".
Tell me again how it's a "fair launch"?
Because 80% of the genesis block will be distributed towards donators, 10% will be used for bountys/giveaways/etc and 10% is reserved for the developers. We will then have invested around 30000USD out of our own pockets and countless of hours. I honestly do belive you have slighty missunderstood the term premine. Please read the entire Q&A. Depending on how donations work out we might launch with even more capacity already pre ordered from the second Neptune batch. How it's distributed is irrelevant. A premine is a premine. In fact, allowing "investors" to buy into your premine makes it even more unfair. I read your silly proposal. *IF* it's legitimate in any way, which I doubt, there is no reason for anyone to ever sell it. Especially your "investors". Hence the problem with PoS. Edit: Your premine is also equal to A FULL YEAR of mining. LOL.

Im solo mining and get lots of blocks, 19k coins now..... is it ok ?
From what I can tell, there aren't any forks at the moment because the pools were unable to get running. I'm guessing that someone decided to DDOS all the pools during this launch.

Why are you all freaking out? I have had zero problems solo mining once I got everything configured properly.
I suggest that you all learn how to properly set up your system to solo mine so you don't have to rely on pools during a coin launch.
There shouldn't even BE any pools for at least a few hours into a coin launch. They cause inevitable forks and ACTUALLY kill coins.
PROTIP: THE OP SOLO MINING INSTRUCTIONS WERE INCORRECT
What was incorrect? The .conf file was missing a required parameter and he didn't instruct how to set up your wallet as a server so you can actually mine to it. Any mining you do to a wallet that's not set up properly will get orphaned. scrypt mining is always the same setup. Don't assume OP knows what they're doing. C'mon guys, we do this every day.

This forked already. Wow...

Take your vert coin.conf with the addnodes info and add, Server=1 Listen=1 Rpcuser= invent username Rpcpassword= invent password Rpcport= whatever port you have lying unused For the windows miner zip file, unzip and create a .bat file like you usually do. Simple version, Cgminer --scrypt -o http://localhost:RPCPORT -u USERNAME -p PASSWORD -I 13 Intensity whatever you normally use in cg miner. Come on people we do this every day! Sorry this doesn't help the 290 guys It's not working for me because it seems I am lacking enough RAM in my mining rigs to run it. I'll either have to wait for an update or mine something else. Oh well.

Works on my R9 270s, but for some reason crashes (or never starts) on my R9 290s... I've got similar cards. How are you running your cgminer.conf file and/or batch file?

Reposting my vertcoin.conf from yesterday: http://pastebin.com/QQ2xGLRANote this is for wallet miners - you may need to change rpcallow to your IP address for CGminer. I'm looking for some configuration for the cgminer that aleks just posted. Any info there?

Could you please give us the vertcoin.conf? Need some configuration info up in here.

You also gotta love the posts that say "I don't know what it mean but... reserved!" like it's somehow fashionable.
I am so happy that this is getting moderated now.

He is perfectly qualified, he just had a few hiccups the first time... We are using powerful BlackLotus DDOS protection now so this WILL NOT happen again. I was there. I lost tons of coinye. No offence. Did you follow the instructions to get your full payout? If you read the post, it explains how to get your entire balance paid out in full. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=396068.msg4399257#msg4399257It's not just the mined balance that people lost. It's hours of hashing on a brand new coin when the pool went down. Why is the original transaction information unavailable? How are we supposed to know how many coins we lost? There's also a 24 hour time limit to claim a payment(which is long since past) and no guarantee that it will be found. I wonder how full the pool's Coinye wallet is now from people who "failed" to claim their mined coins? Defend it all you want. Regardless if the intent was malicious, it still happened. Confidence is lost and people will still accuse it of being a scam because there is no way to prove otherwise.

Why such a low block reward to start? It essentially FORCES people onto mining pools which will result in 51% attacks and forks.
If you want to limit the early "mining rush" where people are trying to get high reward in a short amount of time, start the difficulty higher or make the retarget more frequent.
As it is now, you have a frequent retarget and no reward for early adopters which makes solo mining 100% useless right from the genesis block.

Is anyone actually hitting any blocks? I'm not even getting orphans. What the hell is this?
I started 200 blocks ago, my hash was higher than the net hash for a while and nothing.

Nobody cares. Let it die.

I think the idea is to let Noble grow naturally, under it's own power and to build confidence on itself.
Every coin that has had early adoption on an exchange has died within days. Most have lost at least 75% of their value, some up to 90%. A true indication of a pump and dump scheme.
Give it time. Help it grow. If you really want to buy/sell Noble, start a trade thread on the forums here. No need for exchanges yet, it's still just a seed, barely germinated.

As a person who is conscious of their "small fry" stature in the cryptocurrency market, I am watching this thread with joy and wonder.

Dammit, I love your guys' pools. Probably one one of the most stable, active and trustworthy dev teams running them right now.
I wish I were, like, creative or an experienced web developer. But alas. It isn't so.
