41  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you thinking about the future? on: March 12, 2018, 11:31:39 PM
Unfortunately or luckily depending on your view, I don't have children so I've not yet thought about leaving anything behind for my unborn however upon pondering the question I think bitcoin would be an amazing investment. Risky so it's probably best you didn't put all the money you intend to give to your child in bitcoin but a decent percentage would be a very wise move in my opinion
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it safe to mine cryptocurrency in your country? on: March 12, 2018, 02:22:41 PM
The united kingdom is perfectly fine when it comes to mining cryptocurrency. I would add that the electricity cost are extremely high over here so its not as profitable as some places. Decently cold also to regulate temperature.
43  Other / Off-topic / Re: The function of religion ? on: March 10, 2018, 08:32:58 PM
On a small scale it's about spirituality and wonder. On a large scale it's about control.

45  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin down ( Mt. Gox is dumping ) on: March 10, 2018, 12:26:53 AM
The bottom is 1800 I think. I can't imagine it getting anywhere close to that figure
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin will be fine on: March 09, 2018, 08:01:44 PM
There's allot of uncertainty around bitcoin at the moment but with all of this commotion I think it's important to put this all into perspective. At the time of writing this message we are at $8700. This is 8x what it was a year ago. Another thing to remember is many people never thought they would be lucky enough to see a bitcoin dip that would put bitcoin at these lower prices. I feel lucky enough to have come into the market early enough to buy bitcoin at these extremely cheap prices. I reckon we will look back again at these times and there will be another batch of people kicking themselves for not buying bitcoin.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's going on now.... anyone? on: March 09, 2018, 06:09:23 PM
I think the alt coin drop is more to due with the SEC report on exchanges that may not be lawful. This is causing allot of uncertainty around alt coins and the ico market because this is where these alt coins are listed. This with mt gox maybe. I think the binance hack if anything should fill you with confidence in the speed and efficiency they dealt with the matter
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Blockchain — A Libertarian Socialist Revolution on: March 09, 2018, 02:10:50 PM
I think its dangerous to talk about blockchain without the addition of bitcoin. You don't get a blockchain, forward ledger and distributed consensus security without the whole package combined with bitcoin as a currency. I personally think bitcoin has the potential to be the digital cash in world without actual cash which I think will be where bitcoins eventual value will lie once the price has been discovererd
49  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the real problem of man? on: March 07, 2018, 11:46:20 PM
I think we are doing ok. I think there will always be problems.I think life is about learning learning to deal with these problems

Travelling is good for the heart and soul!
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative Block Chains : be safe! on: March 06, 2018, 05:45:51 PM
I totally agree. Be very cautious. If these blockchain have issues in their infancy dont are not getting dealt with money can be lost. My worry would be building daps that use people's money only to find buggy code that can cause the loss of great sums of money
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how to choose good altcoin on: March 06, 2018, 12:10:37 PM
My person decision process usually centres around the current utility of a coin. I like platform coins allot at the moment. Platforms similar to eth but built with scaling in mind. I'm really excited to see the progress of the generation 3 blockchains in the future
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and XMR on: March 06, 2018, 02:31:01 AM
Well the binance coin BNB is being bought to lower fees for users of the exchange. Steemit coins are being paid to members of the social network for posting content. There are quite a few other cases as well but considering the amount of coins out there you'd expect more use cases. Really you don't need that many coins, in a few years they will all be whittled down to a handful
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: March 05, 2018, 11:46:51 PM
I had a friend who was telling me how poor iota was. Some of his points on security and double spend were valid however I think many people are disregarding the potential this has to scale safely. It could litteraly blow competition out of the water. All done in a completely original way
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin or ripple ? on: March 05, 2018, 10:19:02 PM
I think what people misunderstand about ripple is the effect the supply has on the potential value. Ripple will never be a $100 plus coin. Another thing to consider is because it is such a centralised organisation there is nothing stopping them creating more coins and devaluing the coins you have.

56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really secure? on: March 05, 2018, 10:06:05 PM
It's secure so long as quantum computers don't get into the wrong hands
