41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shower thought. Why is Bitcoin hard to define? on: April 12, 2019, 10:17:08 PM
A non-Bitcoiner friend asked me, "What is Bitcoin?", I was unable to answer directly as my mind was racing to find an answer. My first instinct was to tell him that it was a "peer to peer digital ecash for the internet", but should something global, trustless, provably scarce, independent, open, and censorship-resistant be described as something so shallow?

Bitcoin is much more, but it's very hard to find the words to describe it.

I have been asked the same thing several times before and what is my answer? I just tell them that bitcoin is a way to earn money in the internet. I answer like that because I believe that most people will be interested to learn more about something which is related to "earning money". Once they are interested then I will tell them more about it, my main idea is to attract them to learn about bitcoin. So we should have an attractive answer to make them curious about it.

Your style is a good entry point to gain interest in the bitcoin
I suggest you talk to them about financial freedom, low cost of financial transactions as well as disposal of bank control.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you get your daily crypto fix from? on: April 11, 2019, 10:34:20 PM
Guys, what do you watch and listen to learn more about crypto and blockchain?

Please give me your favorite youtube channels and podcasts

my youTube channels are often not in English
So I will not mention it
The sites are numerous and meet all demands and levels
Eg Coindesk.com for articles and news

https://en.bitcoin.it/ would be very useful if you decide to delve deeper into blockchain and others
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance(BNB) best alt coin ! on: April 11, 2019, 10:13:25 PM
If bitcoin will reach 20k usd then BNB coin will be aprox.70 usd with current BNB price.on that time BNB coin coin will be the most deairable coin.
This is the right time to invest in BNB coin..
This coin will touch 100 usd surely in future.it has a great potential.
Ico price was 0.1 usd and today.....😵insane growth

When the Binance  is the best with advanced developers
their currency (BNB) will certainly be very strong
but we can not say it is better than ETH and XRP
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can New Projects compete with the established ones? on: April 10, 2019, 11:16:49 PM
Hi everyone; as I'm sure you're all aware new projects continue to flood into the crypto space at a regular pace; (my newest favorite being GRIN and Nauticus) however I am wondering if these can compete with the established projects like BTC and BNB?

https://grin-tech.org/

I feel like Grin is a much more fair playing ground than Bitcoin; with no premine and no ICO etc; and much stronger privacy (maybe better compared to monero?)

https://nauticus.exchange/

Much like Binances BNB due to trade fee reduction; but with FIAT onramping and Securities incoming.

Can newer projects make big enough waves to usurp their much older larger brethren?

GRIN is one of the promising projects that will have a good future
But is not expected to compete or threaten the status of bitcoin
The bitcoin still dominates the encryption market leadership
It is also able to take advantage of every new development.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Take the profit OR hold on on: April 09, 2019, 11:19:46 PM
I have invested in ETH when it was $105. Now it's $176. Will it be a good idea to take the profit now? Or I should hold on for better profit which may lead to less profit too  Grin Suggestion is appreciated.

Your investment decision is your responsibility
before asking for advice you should clarify some information such as
is your investment short or long term
do you have trading experience?
overall ,prices are now rising so do not sell everything you have
study the market and follow the style of  the targets of prices and you always hold a large percentage of your currencies
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Number of Blockchain wallet users are now above 35 million on: April 09, 2019, 11:09:04 PM
According to the latest numbers from blockchain.com, there is now more than 35 million wallets connected to the bitcoin blockchain.

https://www.blockchain.com/ja/charts/my-wallet-n-users?timespan=all

This statistic does not provide much of the information that helps us judge the development of btc
As mentioned by guys
There are missing and forgotten wallets, etc.
And vice versa there are hard wallets
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets be careful on what we are investing on: April 08, 2019, 11:30:31 PM
Read this several minutes ago. We must be vigilant on what we are investing and must do some research or study first if the project that we wanted to join is legit or not. So sad that there are some ICOs who are just making money for their own sake. Because of this issues, people becomes scared of cryptocurrencies and thinks that other cryptos that are legit are scams too.

http://www.livebitcoinnews.com/denaro-ico-raises-8-7m-and-goes-up-in-smoke/

It's very sad
I personally have a bitter experience in some projects
projects have already started but over time
everything is end, that negatively affects the reputation of encryption as a whole

TOKENOMICS = اقتصاد الرمز  Huh

السلام عليكم
موضوع متميز من نوعية العصف الذهني

اعتقد ان هذه الترجمة غير دقيقة والانسب لها

 TOKENOMICS = اقتصاديات الرمز

والمعني هو الاجراءات الاقتصادية من قبل فريق العمل او المطورين لدعم الرمز المميز عند اطلاقه في المنصات

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Veriblock IEO finish in 10 seconds, what's your take? on: April 05, 2019, 11:17:39 PM
Bittrex posted on twitter:

"The IEO for @Veriblock ended within 10 seconds. Thanks for participating in the Initial Exchange Offering.

Stay tuned for future IEOs coming soon."

IEO seems to be like ICO at the early stages, but i am skeptical.
Did the IEO really sold out to public in 10 seconds or did most of it already been bought up by internal investors and just a small portion of it actually sold to public?
This seems like also another way to convince the market into putting their money into buying "legit" IEOs that will be listed on these launchpads in the future.
Will IEO last for the long term? Or will the hype just die down in the coming few months?

https://twitter.com/BittrexIntl/status/1113110527511855106
https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/veriblock

Regarding this proposition, I am skeptical Shocked

IEO has some reliability especially if the platform they organize is Important
It will take some time to judge this experience
I wish it to be successful and not like ICO which was mostly a failure.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is downloading money into your PC on: April 05, 2019, 11:08:02 PM

People love to download everything from Internet, download videos, download audio, download photos, download texts, download digital contents, download softwares, download blah blah, and to download something, we must first have an internet capable PC, a modern router, and an ISP

What about download money? Can we really download money from the Internet? It sound crazy because money is something valuable unlike anything that could be download from the Internet. But what does mining sound like to me? It is just sound like download money from the... Internet? To download videos we need very fast internet, but to mine Bitcoin we also need very fast, of course a powerful miner, that's crazy when download money is possible, we are just creating something impossible, because no one can believe that money can be downloaded just like Internet, can you really believe that?

What even more crazy are decade ago, everyone is dreaming of having their own free nation, to be completely escape from a usually monarchy gov system, with the introduction of Bitcoin, we're one big step closer to that goal, it's no longer a dream, but a reality that waiting to happen.

Mining is quite different from video downloads and the like
It's a complicated process that needs to solve highly complex algorithms
In return, the miners get paid for their work.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin financial services on: April 04, 2019, 11:37:52 PM
So I know some members of this community like to participate in a good old bank bashing session and while I do agree we need to reform our financial system and disruptive technology
like bitcoin and other decentralized innovations are going to part of that I'd like to open up a bit of an open ended discussion about how you guys envision the important services that banks
and other financial institutions provide are going to be changed/replaced.

So for example loans are extremely important for upward economic mobility, is anyone aware of financial institutions that currently offer loans in bitcoin? Is this something that will only
happen when bitcoin has large usage comparable to fiat in order to be stable enough for an institution to even consider giving a loan?

Is there any novel solutions that make a loan self executing via smart contracts or will we always have to have trust trust when it comes to these kind of transactions?

What is the general sentiment regarding custodial services for people's bitcoin so they don't have to be concerned about storing it them selves?
Are there any examples of companies already successfully doing this?

Another reason people tend to open bank accounts rather than store money themselves is that they can get their money back in the event of being scammed
(a sense of security really). So is there any examples of companies providing insurance for people's bitcoin?

So there's several questions to get this kind of conversation started. Feel free to answer as many as you like or just give your own take on the topic in general.

Cheers.

The thread contains many points, I will to choose the loan point
In general, you will need adequate collateral to get a loan, whether in fiat  or cryptocurrencies in the future
the guarantee may be in the form of bank deposits or digital assets, for example.

54  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has done it again on: April 03, 2019, 10:57:50 PM
Many people was wondering if bitcoin can stand the test of time. They were waiting for the day they will announce the collapse of bitcoin. Trust me people yarn for its downfall. When the price of bitcoin dropped to 3.5K, I saw many antagonist of bitcoin and cryptocurrency rejoicing. I advice them that this is not the first time bitcoin has recorded that price and it was going to rise in no time. Now bitcoin has done it again. It is now around 5K and it won't remain there. It is going to rise beyond imagination and expectation. Bitcoin has done it before. To all the antagonist and babylons of bitcoin, never underestimate the power of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Bitcoin has done it again and it has come to stay. Hail btc!!!

I like this faith and this confidence in BTC
All the comments I've read indicate that this time it's true
And not just whaling
Let us see within a few days what the story is
I am optimistic Smiley
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO makes me sick on: April 03, 2019, 10:51:30 PM
No funds no project idea makes me sick and tired of ICO ,I never like the idea right from the beginning ,why? Well to me if you are the owner of your business or company and you have struggled a lot to build it you won't dare want to let go or see it crumbled and fail, this is not present in ICO cases ,ICO is just like "oh if not much funds then I will back off and reopen another project maybe we can reach the hard cap" ,well if every developers are the ones funding there projects they will be more serious to make it a successful one,the easy safe path of backing out if hardcap is never achieved makes it feel easy for every one especially the scammers, I'm not been heartless ,if you don't have money to fund your project just don't bother ,many coins out there have no ICO ,no premine ,no bullshit with fine price per coin ,they never want any funds ,coins like masari ,Loki, haven project, dero rely on nobody fund yet they perform better than hundreds of ICO.

Many people lost some of their money in ICOs
Only a little achieves success
Unfortunately, ICOs proved to be an unreliable system
Therefore, the most the serious projects are now turning to IEO
Although it is not without some risk as well.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Coins Necessary? on: April 02, 2019, 11:24:44 PM
I adhere to the thought that it is better to have several stable coins than more than two thousand unstable ones. Coins should not be so much.

Currency stability gives confidence to investors and this is very important in such a market
But there are two points to consider
- Stability means there are no significant trading opportunities
- Will these companies allow external auditing?
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I think the bear market is over for some coins on: March 31, 2019, 11:25:23 PM
BNB have managed to rise above their ATH.
Nope it didn't. You made me check the ATH price of BNB and when I looked at the chart's past, the all time high price for BNB is $24. But I acknowledge that BNB is starting to flee from the bear market, yes it looks like the bear for this coin is going out soon.

$17 for the current price and it's just few bucks away from the all time high. IEO held on Binance helped to make the price of their coin pump. While bitcoin is also moving slowly to get out of this bear.

I prepared a new check as well
BNB  has gained well thanks to the binance team efforts
This is a sign that the market is beginning to respond to the business and the strong activities of developers, which is a good sign
I think the EOS will ride the BNB train.
58  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will make bitcoin price to brake its all time high on: March 31, 2019, 11:18:04 PM
bitcoin needs some time so that the manipulators can be satisfied with their accumulation as they are currently on some sort of buying frenzy to buy as much cheap bitcoin as they can without letting the price to rise up that much.
and as they finish that we enter the slow rise period where the confidence comes back to the market. and mainly people are currently waiting for the manipulation to end before they come back so they need time to jump back in again.

Already this is a hellish circle
The effect of whales on the market is large because the volume is small
This makes the market less confident
To increase confidence, whales must be stopped Roll Eyes
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are not fighting with post-ICO scams? on: March 30, 2019, 10:13:24 PM
Hello, we are all witnesses of ICO scams. But I am just wondering why people are not fighting against it?
Why people, especially investors are silent. Why they do not try to do as much as possible to get their money back? Calling police, lawyers and so on?
Many ICOs are created by real profiles - so it won´t be hard to arrest them, right?

It's not so easy
scammers are studying every step they take and often have legal experts drawing their steps
In addition, there are no laws governing ICOs in many countries
You need to check before you deposit your money into any project.

Cry
