42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 29, 2014, 02:41:15 AM
Anyone know if its normal for a small amount of coins to be left sitting in "Unexchanged" as well as "Immature"? I stopped mining on Middlecoin over 18 hours ago and it appears to of stopped doing any exchanges about 9 hours ago, so just have a flat blue bar chugging along the Middlecoin chart.

Some coins aren't traded out for a while. You'd need to give it a full week before it completely clears out into the balance.

Ah ok, thanks for the info.

Any word on coins-e adding DMD? I see that it is listed as coming soon on the DMD announcement post. Do they have a board we can post on to request that DMD be added? I don't know much about them. If anything ever happened to Cryptsy the entire altcoin cryptocurrency market sure would be in trouble. It seems like it would be good for us all to support some other exchanges when we can.

I emailed Coins-E a while back about DMD, it appears they did used to have it, but then took it down due to the hardfork I believe, but when I messaged them in December about re-adding it, I only got a generic response that they will look in to it.

I'd also like to see DMD on Coins-E again and Coinex as I do not like Cryptsy due to the issues everyone reports.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next Altcoin to reach a market cap of over 10,000,000 USD ? on: January 27, 2014, 06:31:04 AM
I think there are many that could end up being over a 10 Mill cap, but for this, I would have to say Diamond coin. Although it had a bit of a rocky time with a fork and the dev abandoning it, it has returned with a better dev team, plus the coin had no instamine, no premine, and has been growing steadily.

It still has a fair mining rate due to no block halving, but won't take too long to mine them all, plus after, the coin can run just from wallet due to being PoS and has a fair interest rate. This coin appears to be an underdog that is just flying under the radars right now, I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows in the future.

When I was on Multipool, I did not find I earned as much so switched back after a couple days, but when I was on Multipool a lot for other coins, I never saw DMD get hit by the Multipool switching, even when I saw the profitability getting DMD up the list and even being higher than what was being mined.

Hmmm...that's strange. Multipool.us was hitting dmd quite a bit in December, hence my observations in the previous post. It hasn't hit at all in January though, at least that I've seen. I was simply speculating that they may have taken it off of the rotation due to the per block difficulty adjustment.

You could be right, I actually didn't mine as much during some parts of December and wasn't watching the trending of the coin as much until the start of January. Hopefully they have taken it off though.

I've been mining DMD for a while now and am getting close to the minimum I want to own. I have mainly been using DMDPool and have had no issues with it apart from the frontend being slow a couple times.

When I was on Multipool, I did not find I earned as much so switched back after a couple days, but when I was on Multipool a lot for other coins, I never saw DMD get hit by the Multipool switching, even when I saw the profitability getting DMD up the list and even being higher than what was being mined.

When mining on DMDPool I have been watching the difficulty and the Coinwarz charts to see how it is affected. I do see the difficulty climb on it, from say 1-2, but it does not stay at 2 diff often and falls back down, I think this is being caused by smaller auto switching pools, but it is not effective for these pools to mine DMD due to the limited amount of time they appear to mine them for. You can also see this in the network hashrate with it increasing by around 50MHs when it happens.

That said, for now, I have finished mining DMD and instead I'm going to mine through Middlecoin and use those profits to start buying DMD instead. Due to reasons mentioned above as well as the team, community and the way DMD appears to be marketed and built, I see a LOT of potential in this coin.

If this coin goes the way I'm kinda expecting it, I see this coin really taking off, I'm in this for the LONG run and won't even sell these if it hits $100 per coin.

I think some of you guys are going to be very wealthy in the future, especially Dadon with his 5000 coins.  Shocked

1% I believe.

can someone help, i think i've found a block and it got rejected? nothing in the wallet and no accepted shares just a lot of rejects. do i just have to wait for confirmation or am i missing something? cheers

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, just sometimes you get unlucky and get a rejected Block. What are your CGMiner settings and Diamond.conf?

Checked this thread today as I've not had my mined coins paid out from dmd.minar.cc and no response from support so I wanted to see if others were having issues and I see they are. I guess those 16 DMDs I mined are gone.

Great that dmd.minar.cc are now off the pools list, except for cryptocointalks DMD section. Be good to get them removed from that too.

dmd.minar.cc has about 1/3 of the network hashrate at this time so about 1/3 of the DMD miners are currently mining for the pool owners, since they don't payout the miners.

Hi! Im Minar.cc Admin.
As the pool news states, on New years eve the pool double payed all users. Including you if you were mining, and got the pool funds so low that i cant run payouts anymore. I am waiting for the pool to resume its balance so i can resume payouts.
All the coins are being mined fine and are there for users to get as soon as the balance allows me to.

I have an intact record running pools, you can check the whole forum for this, I want you all to get the coins i swear.

Anyway, you all got double payed so you should not be that angry...

Are you able to provide a bit more detail on how a double payout occurs? I was under the impression that something like this couldn't happen to these cryptocurrencies, unless using some kind of payment "buffer" from a coin bin of some kind. Would just like to know more about this and how it could affect users as well as how something possible like this could be seen by the public.

If anyone has any links to websites that explain this, it would be appreciated. Just at work atm, so unable to really google for it.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 07, 2014, 04:16:28 AM
I just want to say, I don't think anyone has any issues with users and/or devs giving money away for any real reason, like bounties, promo or just for the hell of it, but giving it away to have people vote for you is a little unfair and messes with the numbers due to giving someone the reason to vote when they otherwise may not of.

If all the coins on this list went about voting in the same manner, the winner would be the dev/promoter with the deepest pockets for it.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW COIN JUST LAUNCHED] *EarthCoin* Is Here To Make A Splash For 2014! on: January 07, 2014, 02:46:04 AM
I know that Earthcoin does not really advertise like its some energy conscious/green living currency, but its not a bad angle to advertise from due to how "low energy usage" conscious people are becoming. So if it was possible to modify Earthcoin in to using Scrypt-Jane, then we all could cut down on our energy usage, as one of my rigs uses about 700w when on Scrypt, and 540w on Scrypt-Jane. you'd also be resistant to the Scrypt-ASICs that should be showing up later this year.

I've also been wondering what that would mean to a currency, good or bad? From a hobbyist miner's perspective, it would be awesome if all new coins would be scrypt-jane because then even with 1 gpu I can mine some coins when the difficulty is not too high yet. When the scrypt asics are released to the public, only the already wealthy investors can mine standard scrypt coins at release. But for an already established coin where gpu mining barely pays for the electricity? Dunno..

If it is possible it would be nothing but beneficial. Are any of you at earthcointalk? I am going to bed now, but I'll make a post about scrypt-jane tomorrow unless one you guys does it tonight

I'm not on those forums yet, but will be signing up soon.

I voted for Diamond, but would also like to see Earthcoin as well as QQCoin on there as well.

I did not look in to Lottocoin at all so can't really comment on it, but I could definitely see a Lotto related coin being able to work in the industry, (assuming its got good parameters and a good launch) although would be a bit odd to pay for other items with it, like a car for example.
