I think both the bounty manager and the participants  share the blame, For the bounty manager, you konw quite well that your reputation depends on the performance of the coin and all that, it's therefore only fair to authenticate the project before being a part of it, The hunters on the other hand need to be cautious on the projects they are a part of and ensure they are wrth taking part in

Its quite unfortunate that such things still happen in the crypto arena, the scam thing is all over, people taking advantage of other's laxity to scam them and us their details for their personal gains which is quite unfair, However i still don't see the reason as to why you should give up, The crypto industry is a very unpredictable market and such happenings keep coming up, use such failures as a stepping stone to more success, don't give up, just put in more effort instead

I dont think if bounty campaign is a wast of time in any way, there has  been cases where bounties have been reported as scams, an the hunters efforts gone to waste, but this is not a frequent happening.
