I have a couple of 'Newbie' questions here...

My main 'ALT' interest is GALI...I have the Galilel wallet on my Windows computer - it's open most of the time staking GALI.

I have a couple of other coins with desktop wallets which I would also like to stake. Is it OK to have multiple wallets open concurrently on the same machine and furthermore for them all to be staking at the same time?

With regards to the GALI wallet, something that I have been wondering about for ages is the design of the desktop wallet. Given that GALI was forked from PIVX, is the wallet design also based on the PIVX wallet design? (By the way, by design I mean look and functionality rather than the mechanics of how it works which is waaaaay beyond me!) It's just that from the various crypto project wallets I have seen, they all seem to pretty much look and feel the same with the exception of the branding.

Perhaps a super modern, user friendly GALI desktop wallet could be developed - childs play/something your grandmother could use? I expect lots of people reading this will say "it's slick and user friendly as it is - what are you on about?!". I mean taking things to the next level and leaving everyone else for dust - I want GALI to lead the way!

I've got a Siemens kettle 'designed by Porsche'. Yes that's right, a kettle for boiling water. It was rather expensive. Apart from the fact that it is super fast and quiet at boiling water, it looks great and that is what any visitors to my house comment on - the look. Nobody ever says anything about the fact that it is just a kettle.

Could the GALI wallet be designed so that it is the envy of all others despite the fact that it is 'just a wallet'?

It looks like things are shaping up nicely for Galilel - over the past week we've seen a surge in the number of new people joining the discord (and as far as I'm aware there isn't an invitation bounty running, so i presume they are people genuinely interested in the project?). Furthermore, volume is picking up on the various exchanges that $GALI is listed on; this has led to a stabilisation in the price which looks like setting course on an upwards trajectory.

A quick heads up for those that aren't aware...there have been two bots running on the Galilel discord for a few weeks now - an old bot (provided by a third party) and a new bot (developed by the team). If you have any GALI balance on the old bot you need to transfer your balance to the new bot otherwise you will lose it!

I believe that over the weekend the old bot was disabled/turned off/removed which caused a bit of concern for those people that had not moved their balance to the new bot. I don't know whether this was intentional or a mistake but my understanding is that the old bot will shortly be reinstated, after which an announcement will be made giving people a week to move their GALI balance from the old bot to the new bot before the old bot is removed once and for all. Hope that all makes sense!

Go to the Galilel discord, head to the channel #bot-commands and type 'gali.help' (old bot) and/or '!help' (new bot) for a list of the respective commands.

And if you haven't already joined us on discord, here's an invitation...

So the beta version of the Galilel Android wallet was released a couple of days ago...

I had a few problems installing it - at first I thought it was due to the fact that I had very little memory available on the old Android phone I was using (I use an iPhone day-to-day) but, having deleted various files to free up some memory, it turned out that the issue was that I didn't have the latest version of the Android OS. After downloading a few updates, the app installed no problem.

My initial reaction is it looks great and works well. I'm looking forward to when a few bugs have been resolved and possibly some additional features introduced before it is made available in the Google Play Store. I'll then be faced with a major dilemma...should I ditch my iPhone for an Android?!  Huh

If you haven't downloaded it yet and want to check it out, here's the link:

https://galilel.cloud/android/galilel-v3.2.0-debug.apk

All feedback is welcomed by the dev - just create a bug report from within the app which will be emailed to him.

I'm normally pretty sceptical when crypto projects make a load of noise about being listed on another exchange - if the demand and hence volume is already there then it can be a good thing as it draws attention to the coin to people who may otherwise not have access to it without impacting on liquidity (remember not everyone has accounts with multiple exchanges!), but all too frequently I feel that many projects list on other exchanges simply to look active as they have nothing else to announce - their supporters make a load of noise about it and then...nothing happens.

This is NOT the case with GALI - far from it! We are now listed on three exchanges that are recognised by CoinMarketCap, so there was sound reasoning behind those decisions - hopefully going some way to removing whatever hurdles that are making CMC hold back from the listing we applied for a couple of months or so ago. Furthermore, the latest GALI exchange listings have by and large just been a mention - there is so much else going on (particularly the eagerly anticipated Android Wallet which is due for imminent release) that the exchange listings have, quite rightly, not taken centre stage. Interest in GALI has been growing notably over the past few days - the number of people in the discord has seen a marked increase and we have also seen some really decent volume of trades on both Graviex and Crex24.

The Galilel Project is ticking over nicely and things are just starting to warm up - if this rate and quality of progress can be maintained, I firmly believe we're in good hands.

Since the bull run of 2017 I've no doubt that net entrants to the crypto market has been negative, but as the 'crypto winter' turns (hopefully) to 'crypto thaw' we'll see a reversal in this trend with increasing numbers of people entering the market. I feel that the days of pure speculation in a project are long gone - investors are more discerning/educated when it comes to putting their hard earned cash into crypto and this is where Galilel will shine.

The project lead/dev has been going great guns and is ahead of schedule with the roadmap. The rest of the team are doing a lot of work too, much of which probably goes largely unrecognised. We shouldn't expect the price of GALI to rise exponentially overnight - you need to take a long term view here. As awareness of Galilel increases and the strength of the team/project becomes more widely known, demand for the token will increase. For those of us who are here 'early', the future looks bright!

I agree, it is better when the project is made by the team and has access to everything than 1-2 people and what happens to them, the project dies (I know a lot of cases)

We have already 9 core people and a lot of volunteers which do technical writing in background.

Having done a little background reading into the core members of the team, it's great to see a motivated bunch of professional people working hard to drive the Galilel Project forwards in their spare time. We shouldn't rely on just them though - we can all play our part by spreading the word on social media with our own original content and by sharing Galilel posts. There's been a fair bit of talk over the past couple of months regarding the long awaited for CoinMarketCap listing, but we all seem to have gone a little quiet on the subject recently - have we given up hope for now or are just fed up with chatting about it?

I've come across various crypto projects whose communities have also been moaning about not being listed on CMC and furthermore finding their lack of communication extremely frustrating, so it's clearly not an issue with Galilel project but more a crypto-wide issue.

Can anybody here who is 'in the know' provide definitive reasons as to why we have yet to be listed and what needs to be done/achieved to meet their listing criteria or are we all in the dark due to a lack of communication on their part?

I'm really excited to see the progress of the Android wallet development being shared in the discord - little teasers here and there! What I really can't wait for though is development of the iOS wallet! That said, having had iPhones for many years I am now seriously considering jumping ship and perhaps going down the Pixel phone route. It seems that all crypto projects focus on Android initially and in this respect Galilel is no different.

Perhaps somebody here could explain to me the pros and cons of the GALI desktop wallet versus the soon to be released GALI mobile wallet. I appreciate that it is still in development and so there is no telling what the functionality will be, but as a general rule, what limitations should one expect and security risks should one consider with mobile wallets compared with desktop wallets?

I have a question which basically leads to a suggestion regarding desktop wallets...specifically the GALI wallet...

Whilst desktop wallets are branded in keeping with their respective coin/token, is it technically possible for a single wallet to be available in various 'skins'?

So with GALI, whilst I like the bronze colour of the logo etc (no doubt someone will now tell me that it is't bronze!), I would rather like to be able to change the colour of the wallet to another colour - perhaps pink - after all, I'm the one looking at it on my desktop!

What I'm thinking is that the default colour of the wallet could be in keeping with the branding of the coin/token, but maybe within the wallets settings a colour selection feature could be included?

Just as these days many banking cards can be personalised with a favourite photo instead of the default bank branding, how about following that sentiment by introducing some personalisation to the GALI desktop wallet? Hopefully this is a novel idea and I'm not going to be shot down in flames and find myself being told that loads of projects offer this feature!

GALI team?  Kiss

I've been into crypto for a little while now and, whilst still a newbie, feel increasingly confident about my ability to identify some of the traits that indicate a good project that is worth investing in/getting involved with.

Some of the key things about Galilel that caught and maintain my interest:

  • Transparency - the team members don't hide themselves; they are all readily indentifiable across various platforms (website, LinkedIn etc)
  • Activity - the lead dev is constantly pushing stuff out and engages with all community members on social media; he's not sat in an ivory tower ignoring us mere mortals!
  • Assistance - the team/community have an active discord server/Telegram where team members are always willing to help with any questions or queries, along with various more experienced members of the community too

I am very pleased to have discovered Galilel and look forward to sharing the journey which I feel sure will be rewarding.

STAKING ON DISCORD WALLET!

Galilel Project have just introduced a really cool feature whereby you can deposit GALI to your own wallet on their discord...here you can stake your coins using the 'galibot'. I don't know whether this feature is commonplace in crypto, but it's the first time I have come across it and love the idea! I'll be buying some GALI on GRAVIEX, sending it to my discord wallet and trying it out! It'll be interesting to see how the staking goes. Not sure what the minimum amount required to stake is - I need to look into it a bit more.

Masternode Rewards and Staking

For those of you that are familiar with running masternodes/staking, this is elementary stuff, but if you are new to this side of crypto, read on...

If you have a GALI masternode running (which requires locked collateral of 15k GALI) and your wallet is also unlocked for staking, as your masternode rewards come in they build up in a separate stack to the 'locked' collateral. This stack will 'stake', earning you further rewards.

If you are in the fortunate position of having multiple GALI masternodes running, there is no need to combine the rewards into a single larger stack - that stack would earn rewards more frequently than several smaller stacks, but the total number of rewards that you receive over the course of time will be the same.

Discord User Stats

There is growing interest in Galilel Project...

I haven't been keeping an accurate count but am pretty sure that the discord server has grown by about 200 members in the past week or two; the current number of users being 750.

I imagine that the increase in numbers is largely organic growth through personal referrals as Galilel is not shilled on social media so is likely attracting serious crypto investors interested as much in the tech as they are the potential returns, rather than simply the pump and dump crowd that'll chase any token gaining a bit of momentary publicity.

If you're new to Galilel you'll soon discover that those who hold $GALI are pretty committed long term holders and by and large won't be parting with their coins, so if you're looking to acquire a respectable stake (say 15K i.e. collateral for one masternode) you'll either have to buy the ask or be very patient hoping that your bids get filled. Good luck!

The Galilel team continue to deliver...I mentioned yesterday that a new website was being worked on which, much to my surprise, actually went live today!

Check it out at https://galilel.cloud/

One of my favourite features of Galilel is Proof-of-Transaction (ghPoT) which removes a major barrier to real world adoption of GALI as a means of payment. Galilel includes an additional data field which is attached to the transaction and stored in the block, making it possible for payment-processing gateways to identify the payee of an invoice as with traditional invoices.

Having started to build a small stake in GALI, I'm now hoping that it won't be too long before Galilel Project gets listed on CoinMarketCap. Whilst our application has been made, it sounds like there has been little or no response from CMC. We all need to do our bit here to get the wheels moving, so get on social media people and start reaching out, calling for GALI to get a listing!  Kiss
