Is the Global Option | OhGodAnETHlargementPill not working in simplemining.net?

Hi got some problems too with this board,  Roll Eyes

I got one rig with 10 gpus (rx580, 560,  2 vega 56) - no problems at all.  all gen2, onboard graphic etc..

I mount another rig with 10 vega 64 but only can connect 9, if i installed the 10 gpu, i have no post on poweron..

Any ideia too what could i check?

I changed to 16 gb ram its the same, have a lot of power too..

No problems in risers too,

my solution was to put one vega in my desktop pc.. but its frustating Smiley

Regards,

Also, do you have power connected to all THREE PCIe PWR headers near the PCIe slots? There will be one "Molex" 4-pin PCIE_PWR1 near PCIE1_1, one "Molex" 4-pin PCIE_PWR2 near PCIE7_1 and another SATA Power Connector called SATA_POW1. All three should be powered from (connected to) the same PSU supplying power to your motherboard ATXPWR1.

Just noticed the SATA_POW1, is this required? http://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?id=454

I would say running VEGAs, yes. Absolutely. And it should be from the same PSU powering your motherboard.

Hi Savage,

Yes all connected,

I have one rig working with 10 gpus using what you suggested Smiley

Thanks for help  Smiley

Awesome! No problem! Glad you got it working!

Just bought this board and I am having problem booting into HiveOS via usb pendrive. It boots into bios. Earlier it was booting but when I attached more gpus, it now boots into bios, even after removing them. With SSD it is no problem.

I've had to change the USB port the USB Drive is plugged into in similar situations. Try a different port.

Hello,

I have this MB with the following configuration:
Asrock H110  pro BTC+
Celeron 2.9 Ghz
8 GB Ram DDR4
120 Gb SSD
Virtual Mem 60 Gb

I installed 5 Zotac 1060 6Gb, 4 Zotac 1070 Ti and 1 Zotac 1080 Ti. I recently added the 1080 and 1 1070 Ti and getting an unstable system with cards crashing.
Until I had 5 1060 and 3 1070 ti everything worked fine and as soon as I added the 1070 and 1080 things got flaky.

I am on the latest nVidia driver and the latest Windows 10 update.

Mining using z-enemy 1.11 (cuda 9.1) miner on X16r.

I tried to underclock the cards to see if it helped but no luck as cards crash anyway.

Any suggestions beside moving to a Linux OS ?

Thx

What's your power situation look like? Sounds like power if the only thing you've done is add GPUs to an existing, working system.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: June 20, 2018, 10:36:07 AM
So I'm guessing we need to encourage a manufacturer to design and produce a riserless, full PCIx16 slot motherboard like the Octominer (x8) or fictional "Dodecaminer" (x12), that has two or more M.2 slots, 4 DDR4 RAM slots and an LGA1151?!

It sounds like that would be the ideal hardware for the Acorn. Or am I out of my mind here?!
Those boards are wired at x1 pcie 2.0 through the chipset. Only server CPUs (EPYC/Xeon), Threadripper and the expensive X99/X299 CPUs have enough lanes to achieve multiple slots on pcie 3.0 x8 or x16.

Dang. Would been nice though!
So with these Acorns, we are limited to 2-3 16x PCIe GPUs per system (rig), for the most part.

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gpu with two different psu on: June 18, 2018, 03:18:13 PM
1. Why would you need to split it?
2. What kind of PSUs are we talking about? High quality or crap? (HQ PSUs are built "smarter" at detecting/regulating how things are connected to it)

Typically, the same PSU should power the riser AND the GPU connected to it. However, most of the time, the problems you see with fried connectors comes down to cheap power adapters being used. If you can avoid it, don't use any type of power adapter (SATA to 6-pin, for example). Just go straight from the PSU to the device you are power with the cables that came with the PSU. Also, be sure that both PSUs power up at the same time. If your BIOS is set to power on after power loss (AC -> ON), then you can use a simple power strip to do this part (just connect both the a power strip that has a power switch and use that to power on your rig).

How can I turn off auto-updates for my rigs?
I am running rigs in a remote location and we have limited bandwidth.

Windows 10?

Windows logo key+R.
Run services.msc.
Scroll to Windows Update and double-click on it.
For Startup Type, select Disabled then click OK.

Then...

Windows logo key+R.
Run gpedit.msc.
Browse to Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Windows Update.
Double-click Configure Automatic Updates.
Choose Disabled in Configured Automatic Updates then click OK.
NOTE: If you want to receive updates, but just want to control how it happens, just go into Settings | Update and Security | Advanced Options. Also check out Delivery Optimization and then Advanced.

Hope this helps!

Is there any way to find my mac address so that I can assign IP to my systems?
on your router dhcp table

From a Command Prompt, PING the IP, get a response, then run ARP -A in Command Prompt. That should give you the MAC (Physical Address).

hi all, I have a rig with 8 RX 580 4GB Nitro + using smos which was working fine for couple of months. Since couple of weeks started throwing a lot of errors on the screen:

[ 848.039335] pcieport 0000:00:1c.1: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, id=00e1(Receiver ID)

and this keeps repeating.
I replaced all the risers, switched the ports used by the cards, and this keeps going against the same port always and rig is unstable.

Any hints for me?

thanks in advance

Sounds like a bad pcie extender. Another thought, depending on your location, summer temperatures are here and you may need to dial back your overclock settings slightly for the warmer temperatures.

When you say you replaced the risers, did you replace the entire riser (PCIe to USB adapter at MB, USB 3.0 cable and the riser itself)?

Is ATIWinFlash being ran as an Admin (right-click, Run as Admininstrator)? I don't currently have a way of testing this, so I'm attempting to help blind, so to speak.
Has anyone tried turning off Data Execution Prevention (DEP) and then running ATI WinFlash?
    Right-click on This PC.
    Choose Properties.
    Click Advanced system settings.
On the System Properties window, click the Advanced tab.
In the Performance section, click Settings.
Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
Click to select the radio button next to Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only.
    Click OK.
Attempt to run ATIWinFlash as an Admin (right-click, Run as Administrator).

How about disabling (temporarily) Windows Defender and/or other Antivirus software you may have installed?

Hello
my rig cant connect to simplemining
i check the internet connection
download latest iso
but still cant connect
my rig work truely about 1 year but still have problem

After you downloaded latest smOS ISO, did you update your email address in the config.txt file on the USB drive to match your simplemining.net logon info?
What is the exact error you are getting?
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ATIFlash/ATIWinFlash does NOT work on the latest/current Windows 10 update on: May 12, 2018, 12:55:47 PM
What version of Windows 10 are you running (winver)? Version 1803?
What version of ATI WinFlash? AMD/ATI ATIFlash 2.77?
What GPUs are you trying to flash and what is the exact error you're getting?

I'm getting ~485 sols/s on 6x 1070s and drawing 880 watts with OC settings Core 150, Mem 800, Power (watts) 140 (using smOS). Are those good numbers?
