10MB... Per day... PER WORKER (GPU).

Just wanted it to be clear Wink

Cheers,

42  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2400 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, LP, SSL, API, 8 Decimal Payouts and more! on: August 30, 2011, 06:17:11 AM
I think you are misunderstanding my situation.  I am limited to ~200MB per 24h or my connection will be grounded to a near halt.(This limit is not just on my miners and includes normal data consumption)

    Here might be some insight...

    Rough calculation:

    Now:
    --------
One request: 300 bytes of HTTP request, 700 bytes of data ==> ~1 kB of data every 5 seconds for each worker. It is 12kB per minute per worker.

    Json over TCP:
    --------
One request: (approx) 20 bytes of request, 300? bytes of response EVERY MINUTE ==> 320 bytes per minute per worker.

By very simple optimization, you cut bandwidth to 2.5% of original size. Without any binary fiddling and proprietary stuff. How many % will be the savings between Json over TCP and binary over TCP?[/list]

AFAIK, most pools are still using HTTP method.  So you're looking at about 17.3MB per worker, per 24 hours.

Possibly using some sort of compression-enabled tunnel *might* be able to shave some bandwidth, but I wouldn't expect anything more than 30% savings.

    Cheers,
    Kermee

44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining SolidCoins is now 4 times more profitable than Bitcoins !!! on: August 30, 2011, 01:13:29 AM
    First drop.

    21,515 to 20,522.

BTC to SC parity is about 0.0177934 at the moment but it's more like 0.021'ish due to high rejects (8-10%) that all the pools have.

    Cheers,
    Kermee

PPS is going to change every difficulty change.  Right now, it's:

    Quote
Pay per share: 0.00002492107169583 BTC per every submitted share

It's probably going to change again soon as there's a difficulty change coming up. -- The correct rate will always be on the website.

    Cheers,
    Kermee
    46  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1 gram .999 fine silver "bitcoin" rounds *********type 2*********** on: August 29, 2011, 05:34:52 AM
    Pricing on Type 1?
    What would be small quantities?

Small quantities, I would say 1 or 2.  3 Max.  Over that, you're better off getting them from Mick.

For people in the U.S. (Prices are inclusive of USPS First Class w/Delivery Confirmation):

    • 1.00 BTC or 55.55 SC per Type 1, 1 Gram .999 Fine Silver Round

All the Type 1's are still sealed in the original bags that Mick put them in.  The ones I'd sell will have never been opened by myself nor anyone else.  If nothing changes drastically on USD/BTC or SC/BTC by the time I get the Type 2's from Mick:

    • 0.80 BTC or 44.45 SC per Type 2, 1 Gram .999 Fine Silver Round

Like people have stated in the past, it's only about 3.125 BTC to purchase 10 of the Type 2, shipped.  So please keep that in mind; you're going to be paying a premium if purchasing from me.  Also previously, the rounds were going for 0.5 BTC a piece.  Type 1 is 'rarer' now and Type 2 is priced according to the change in BTC/USD since then (~$14 USD/BTC) hence the BTC going from 0.5 to 0.8 BTC.

    Cheers,
    Kermee
    47  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1 gram .999 fine silver "bitcoin" rounds *********type 2*********** on: August 29, 2011, 02:21:30 AM
I'll have a small number of Type 1 and Type 2 rounds available for sale for folks who want to purchase in small quantities in the U.S. once I get the latest batch from Mick.

    Cheers,
    Kermee

    Pix for size comparison:

I just grabbed a 5g by accident; the LxW dimensions of the 5g and 10g are the same.  Granted the density of gold is slightly more than silver but should be able to get very similar dimensions.

60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Real Time Order Book with WebSockets on: August 26, 2011, 05:30:11 AM
LoL....It's me again. Another bug is making itself shown

The Websocket is too sensitive and keeps disconnecting for short periods of time. I used to be able to keep it open all day, now I have to reconnect every 15 minutes or so... sometimes after just 5 minutes.

    That's MtGox's side...

    Cheers,
    Kermee
