41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Catcoin - NEW THREAD - FORK INCOMING AT BLOCK 21346 - Scrypt MEOW! on: February 16, 2014, 07:40:57 PM
Thanks for the update.

Does the dev team know how many forks are out there, and which 1 are they are going choose.

My vote is for the coinium folk as this seam to be the only really active folk.

I just took a look at the cat block explorer, and someone is mining on that fork, they found a block today?

Doesn't the longest chain normally win out meaning the one coinium's on is correct??

44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Difficulty Switching command line for cgminer or sgminer on: February 16, 2014, 10:56:15 AM
I'm sure we're all familiar with the idea of profit switching pools, or switching it yourself

But I've been thinking that the most profitable coin isn't also the most profitable by the time you've sold it.

I would like to be able to set up my miner and pick say 4 coins/pools and then same

If coin A diff is less then 20 mine
If coin B diff is less then 1200 mine
If coin C diff is less then 2 mine
If coin D diff is less then 10 mine

If more then 1 coin is lower mine in following order A,B,C,D

If all coin are above mine in the following order A,B,C,D

Any good programmers out there bored and want to have a play?

Coinium is on 22935, so is my wallet, and I've been able to send coin to coined up this morning pretty quick, so I guess they are too.

Hope this helps

On the nodes, what does the ":9933" do/mean, and is it required?

Sorry I miss read your post, thought you said 22817

the cat coin block explore hasn't worked for a while,  Block 22017 is 4 days old

Team cat is working on block 22811
coinium is working on 22817

teamcatcoin, my wallet and coinedup and all on the same chain

cat.e-pool and coinium look to be on a different chain.

Teamcat may not be getting any blocks, but atleast on that chain you can send coin to an exchange

Looks like either team catcoin or coinium have folk cat coin,

They are on different block and different difficulty.

My wallet is on the same block as team catcoin

My wallet is at block 22705 at 17.52 GMT

When is the Dev team going to sort the block explorer.

If things don't get fixed when there broke it means the coin is going to DIE
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which rig is more efficent for mining? on: February 09, 2014, 05:51:13 PM
Is this a trick question?

If they cost the same amount to run and produce the same amount work, they are both equal.

Then it come down to initial cost,  But the cheapest might not have the highest resale value, so keep this in mind.

Have you tried going back to a normal riser to check it's not the usb riser at fault?

Does it really matter if it's still under warranty?
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which graphic card for scrypt mining hd7950, r290, r280x on: February 08, 2014, 10:41:11 AM
Hi

You'll be on the limit of your psu if you go for the r9 290 and maybe even the r9 280x,  Been your first rig, I'd go for the 7950
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 1 PSU VS 2 PSU on: February 04, 2014, 07:58:12 PM
I've got 2 mining rigs now

1st 1 has 4 x 7950 gigabyte GPU using a single 1200w PSU

The 2nd has 3 x R9 290 sapphire GPU with 1x 850w PSU & 1x 500w PSU

There both happily working away after having a bit a trouble getting the dual PSU rig to work,  Need to use one of the USB riser get the 3rd card working on the 500w PSU.

So My question is, apart from the extra cost of the USB riser's and PSU link cable.

1 decent 1500w PSU cost £300 plus
2 decent 750w PSU cost around £130

What are people views on the 2 options,  I can see pro's and cons for both.

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 Power Supplies -- Backfeed? on: February 01, 2014, 01:15:38 PM
I've just added a 3rd R9 290 to my rig and it's powered with a separate psu.  I first tried using just a normal powered riser, but as soon as cgminer started the pc would crash.  Tried all different wiring configuration, but always the same results.

I ended up using one of the USB risers which lets you totally separate the GPU power supply as the only link to the motherboard is data.  Plug it and worked first time.

Only down side is there twice the price,  But it I had got this from day 1, I would have gained 4 days mining, sound would have paid for itself.

Hope this helps
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Changing PCIE frequency gives an extra 30 KHash/s for free !!!!!! on: January 26, 2014, 11:45:31 AM
Hi

I've just tried this on a asrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 motherboard and after a 30min test,  I got about 1-2 kh/s more.  So without doing a 12 hour test I would say there was no change.
