41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BitGive Charity Campaign for The Water Project on: February 20, 2014, 05:52:25 PM
We are very excited to announce our latest charitable campaign:

We have partnered with The Water Project to raise funds to construct or rehabilitate a water project in Africa. The Water Project accepts Bitcoins, and their President recently released this "Welcome Cryptos" blog - https://thewaterproject.org/welcome-cryptos.php

We have set a goal of the BTC equivalent of $10,000, and have kicked off the campaign by donating 2 BTC of our own.

Please read about the campaign here, and consider a donation to this worthy project:

Hi There -

BitGive Foundation was founded in July of this year and we are in process of 501c3.  We would love to talk to you about perhaps partnering on your ideas.  I am just beginning to approach mining pools re: donations.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to get BitGive Foundation out on the bitcointalk forum.

We are a Foundation for charitable giving from the Bitcoin community and focused on giving on a global scale to environmental and public health causes.

Our first project was helping to organize the charity drive aspect of Bitcoin Black Friday and raising funds for Save The Children's Philippines Relief Effort.

If you would like to see more charitable giving on a global scale on behalf of the Bitcoin community, please support us!

We are new and looking for early support to get off the ground.

We are also looking for an Intern and volunteers to help out. Please see our News page - http://bitgivefoundation.org/news.html and contact me at info@bitgivefoundation.org for details.

Thanks,
