The issues all come down to Dgex, which is the only exchange for Nxt and the only source for coinmarketcap stats.  The site is often unavailable (ddos attacks) and subject to manipulation, furthermore, they've implemented outrageous fees causing many to shy away from trading.

Which is why we should move some trading over to Peercover. Not all trading, but some of it, just to test the waters. There aren't any fees and you don't even have to deal with XRP save for the reserve which comes down to less than a dollar's worth. Don't know why people are still hesitant to move over there.

A guide to trading on Peercover that I posted on nextcoin.org: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,2527.0.html. Hope this helps any who were curious!

Anyone know how long it takes for NXT to be deposited in the Peercover gateway?

That is not right, you can't change fees when you own nearly 90M NxT + X BTC of your customers without giving a timeframe to withdrawal with the old rules.
Would you kindly suggest how to deal with the missing 800k NXT please? Consider the rate of NXT shoots up significantly, not that I would have 70 BTC extra in my pockets to cover it right now.

DGEX offered people free trading of NXT for 5 weeks.

Demand that the founders compensate you for faulty execution. Another 800k of NXT burned? On top of the other lost NXT because of a lack of safeguards when sending? That 1 billion is a fixed number, those are never coming back. If they won't, then it's a sunk cost. Bring your fees down and hope that people keep trading on your exchange in the long run.

There's no liquidity on peercover for XRP/BTC either. Looks like if you have anything in NXT right now it's a sitting duck for the time being.

The 1.2% (1.4% currently) NXT withdrawal fee at DGEX is planned to be lowered considerably or removed altogether when the network has stabilized and the exchange has recovered its 800 000 NXT losses arising from the first month of operations when approx. 20000 payments were processed in alpha status network, unstable API, and beta status house software.

Being the pioneer has its costs. Had you waited a month until any competitor has their exchange up, the value of NXT nor its adoption would not be where it stands now, and massive profits that numerous traders have made with their NXT would not have materialized. Personally I would be inclined to think 1.4% is a miniscule cost for everything that the quick launch of DGEX and nextcoin.org has given the public, but well that's just me.

This is a sunk cost. You should be voicing your concerns about the losses to the developers very loudly, not the customers.

Wait until people start connecting the dots when the fog of all this exchange drama clears and come to realize how incremental the NXT Asset Exchange is for crypto!  Solid rocket booster ignition and liftoff!!!   Grin

When the fog clears you'll start to see the "Pardon Our Dust" signs.

P.S.Peercover was willing to invest in all the development, NXT leakage, etc. and be in it for the long term forging revenue model. Actions speak louder than words. Support the company that supports the NXT community.

James - what is the minimum XRP that needs to be in the reserve to trade on Peercover? I just opened a wallet and am unfunded atm.

Unfortunately due to the lack of support from the founders, with the exception of aldrin, I am forced to say goodbye.

I have worked through my vacation to come up with a strategic plan for NXT to get to 0.01 BTC and beyond. When the security issue came up, I debated with CfB who was stuck on "its impossible to add second layer of security because NXT is not centralized" to "API v2 will support second layer of security" Doesn't anybody see the significance of this?

I have pointed out the flaws in the addressing, came up with a solution, but not even acknowledgement from jean-luc and a few days later the same problem comes up again.

I have to make a living and I was willing to use up all my savings for living expenses while I worked fulltime on NXT. All I asked for was some incentive options, got only two responses. The more promising one was a "I will wait and see".

This lack of support does not give me the confidence to use up all my savings and I do have to make a living. I was one week late in discovering NXT, due to this I couldn't get enough to be set for life even if it does go up tenfold. Not sure if I will even be able to keep up with this thread, but I will try.

Goodbye NXT, I wish you luck in dealing with the competitors, bugs, usability issues, etc. without a strategic plan or anybody who is working on implementing the plan.

James

This whole thing lacks direction and organization because they keep falling back on "it's de-centralized". There are economic trade-offs to pure de-centralization. If everything is de-centralized - control, organization, authority, decision rights - it's just a bunch of individual agents working in isolation without cohesion. At this point, the marketing looks better than the product. An ALPHA product should not be marketed. As James said, BIG questions are not being addressed thoroughly. Just a bunch of one-line responses claiming trolling and ad hominem attacks.
