i'd put it on a BFL single.

saw this last week, looks awkward. have to be careful with cpu heatsinks, and all of the other PCEI ports are out unless you mess around with extenders. i guess it would be effective to use on a small board with just one PCIE slot.
1400 yuan works out to be about $220 USD, plus $7 for shipping. not exactly cheap.

I know there's at least a couple of miners out there who have big solar arrays, lets see em! I guess it doesn't have to be solar, any renewable energy is ok as long as it's yours! 30x 175W panels. Total output of 5.25kW. Sunny Boy meter on day view (honestly not the best day for it) Month view!

Hmm so is BFL actually gonna create a thread somewhere here? They got chased away from here - but they still don't seem all that interested in talking with anyone.
have you tried emailing them? They don't need to use the forums, and why would they want to with the amount of dickery that goes on here?

loving the app so far, only thing i would like to see is a bit of basic security.
i.e. a 4 digit pin entered when you first open the app. Both sending BTC and exporting private keys should require this pin. if someone grabs or steals your phone at least you know they won't be able to instantly transfer all of your coins, giving you a bit of time to add the private key elsewhere and transfer them out.

being able to keep my rigs quieter with auto temperature management is a godsend, and it mines faster than phoenix. what was the problem again?

Where do people get the idea that if you have free power you would pick a less efficient FPGA? Um GPU?
perhaps FPGA actually works out cheaper when you take into account not needing an extra PC for every 4 FPGA's, unlike GPU setups. for large scale anyway.

i'd prefer AgeOfEmpiresCoin.

wasn't using the correct order of operations. doh!

can you give a bit more details on how to get the right result? i still can't get it to work EDIT: nevermind, got it. good challenge!

3x7970 (+PC hardware $350): 1650MH/s $2000 635W
2xBFL: 1664MH/s $1200 160W
Yeah, who'd want a BFL???
Well you do need a PC to run the Single as well, but your everyday home machine will do just fine. These stats are the bottom line. I'd expect to see some optimisation and improvement for both products but at the moment BFL has the numbers. for people going large scale, remember to consider PC hardware costs (+$350 per 3-4 cards, BFL = 128 per pc with some usb hubs). and then there's resale value, which is always a tough topic.

How soon will the unicorn fail? Can it even run for an hour at the current temps? I do not think I will be placing an order any time soon...
Anyway, when will these units be shipped out? Thanks,
they've stated that they've beefed up the power brick. that should solve most of the heat problems, and perhaps a bit of the power/hashrate deficits, as inaba speculated. just a waiting game now. EDIT: didn't actually realise they'd knocked $100 off the price, even though the delivery units will ship with the better power block. tough decision.

certainly sounds like there's room for improvement, holding off for now i think. thanks for taking the time to do the testing inaba.

The hostility is unnecessary. If you have a purchase and are uncomfortable, simply ask for a refund. If you don't [have a purchase and are uncomfortable] and you're just a third party jerk, then with all due respect, mind your own business. The heated passion is juvenile and irresponsible. Get a grip.
Regards, BFL
Can someone explain WTF does this mean? BFL, guess what honey?..... this isnt your private forum. thought it was implied. Third party: a person or entity who is not involved in an interaction or relationship [of buying/selling BFL products].

That is BFL's laptop, not mine. The one I plan on using for the test is an HP that BFL has not seen/had access to yet. So let me get this straight... you wrote all that stuff about compiling the code from source and about how the board and test machine didn't have any kind of internet connection, and then you neglected to mention that you'd used a laptop set up and provided by BFL which could've had a hidden wireless connection to anywhere. Did you even make sure that the binaries you were running actually corresponded to the source code you received, or did you use binaries that BFL provided too? take it easy man, he's doing this for our benefit remember. i'm sure when inaba has his own laptop he'll be able to give us some solid evidence. in the mean time, chill out.
