hmmm looks like I found that super long block... btw with 0.10 of the entire network block solving speed should be faster, say, one in ten blocks. The guidance is for cross-compiling(build WIN32 EXE on Linux) only. You may want to use virtual machines to compile it, or get some pre-compiled-and-optimized binaries here: http://www.wuala.com/jbw9/pub/Bitcoin/Tenebrix/miner/win/I've tried to cross-compile but the result is not as good as those binaries. but maybe I was just used incorrect optim?

So that's the reason these currencies have less than 1 diff?
On SHA-256 currencies it's calculated as difficulty*pow(2,32), but what about scrypt currencies like TBX FBX and LTC? still 1 difficulty = 2^32 hashes or something else?

Is it possible to use p2pool on Litecoin and/or other scrypt-based currencies?
BCX's stress test on SC2 network reminds me that.

This can cause problems. After ddos attacks on some of the resources DC could ban some addresses from there. in terms of proxychains, it's just a SSH tunnel here, not any chains of proxies. without proxychains I can't connect either. Anyway, it works now.

Tried that but whatever the parameter I set it always returns a high difficulty. {"error":null,"result":{"midstate":"cdbeb901af7773616ae2aa37f9ee53cfe65876fc1d070b8789af21579b2ae330","target":"0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000a13060000000","data":"000000018b860e7f8626452aa43c80a35c9b4b7f770f30cdd9d21c6fa79111566f6a5a7155f8fc6b04455d5a548a096198ff371707157ec552e946e6ef62b6036a66639d4e9c45c61d6030a100000000000000800000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000080020000","hash1":"00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000008000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000010000"}} That's what I get using curl. "target" never changes. Or I misunderstand the rpc data? _ Edit: I was still using jgarzik's pushpool. Seems old to tenebrix-like currencies. Now I cloned ArtForz/pushpool/tenebrix and it works! Thanks for the information to the settings!

Hi, I just have some backend things to ask.
You said that you are using pushpoold as pool software and managed to set the difficulty to an easier one. I have a private pool to set up but I can't change the difficulty by editing the config file. It always stick at a high difficulty. Could you tell me how did you accomplish that?
how to connect to pool? I'm getting: ~/cpuminer$ ./minerd -a scrypt -s 60 -t 4 http://184.107.145.244:8332 --userpass Ldb.............._1:1
[2011-10-16 14:50:40] Binding thread 0 to cpu 0 [2011-10-16 14:50:40] HTTP request failed: couldn't connect to host [2011-10-16 14:50:40] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds [2011-10-16 14:50:41] Binding thread 1 to cpu 1 [2011-10-16 14:50:42] Binding thread 2 to cpu 0 [2011-10-16 14:50:43] Binding thread 3 to cpu 1 [2011-10-16 14:50:44] 4 miner threads started, using SHA256 'scrypt' algorithm. if I try with --userpass Ldb..............1:1 it's the same... TIA ./minerd -a scrypt -s 60 -t 4 --url http://184.107.145.244:8332 --userpass Ldb.............._1:1 dunno if it works, but I can't connect if I don't use --url.

Somethin' funny. SSSE3 C2 miner - 1.68-1.7 kHashes/ core AMD SSE4a miner - 1.78-1.79 kHashes/ core E2160@3000 ; W7 32 bit

In the meantime if you're stuck on windows: download VirtualBox, download an ubuntu 64 bit livecd image, boot that and enjoy. You'll be getting a few more mhash/sec than you would running a 32 bit cygwin binary.
Using AMD Phenom II X4 940, results are really bad: [2011-10-16 15:55:40] thread 0: 65535 hashes, 0.63 khash/sec [2011-10-16 15:55:41] thread 2: 65535 hashes, 0.63 khash/sec [2011-10-16 15:55:42] thread 3: 65535 hashes, 0.63 khash/sec [2011-10-16 15:55:46] thread 1: 65535 hashes, 0.60 khash/sec Trying to get fedora to mine or cross-compile a windows binary. Pool is back online now.
Stats are updated every 15 minutes, so check it out again. We have found about 10 blocks as of right now!
In the pool, the target is fixed, so those founds, are shares, not blocks.
Could you tell me how did you fix the target thing? I always get "target":"0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000a13060000000" on my pushpoold.

Trying to fire up a pool on Ubuntu Server 10.04.3. Using libmysqld-dev. configure and make run fine, but I can't start pushpoold. There are no outputs.
How to get it running?

run.sh #!/bin/bash wget www.litecoin.org/downloads/litecoin.conf
while [ $? != 0 ] do echo "Not Released, wait 60s" sleep 60 wget www.litecoin.org/download/litecoin.conf done ./litecoind -rpcuser=xxx -rpcpassword=xxx -daemon 20 min to go. Miner is trying to connect to localhost. Abe will work as soon as the main chain gets online(hoping).
Abe: www.misterx.tknotice that only LTC Testnet now, and it is not updating(I've quitted the daemon). I've set up a script that tries to run litecoind every 10 secs until the main chain gets online. I'm behind a firewall and a router without upnp enabled, does it mean I'll get more orphans at the early stage?

Is it possible to get 1mh/s using scrypt? OR the miner on Mac is just calculated the hashrate mistakenly?

Folders can be seen. I have show all folders, show hidden files, all that jazz, I am one of those odd computer users that doesn't like my files inaccessible to myself, so I think this is why it is bugging me. If anyone has a direct way to help, I guess PM or something, I don't want to clog up this thread with such a basic seeming issue. Also, can someone say that they can't get this working on their Macbook so I can feel a little less retarded here lol Takeown the AppData folder and set Full Control permission. sometimes windows 7 sucks a lot.
