41  Other / Beginners & Help / Safe way to buy Bitcoins? on: April 24, 2014, 03:47:13 PM
Hi all,

I was wondering, what would be a safe way for both parties involved to exchange traditional currencies with bitcoins?  I'd prefer to do my trading online if possible.  I've seen listings on eBay for them, but I feel that buying from there might inconvenience the sellers if PayPal decides to freeze their accounts.

  Thanks!

42  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Newbie mining question -- Fees? on: January 19, 2014, 08:08:25 PM
Hi all,

So, I was reading about how different mining pools charge different fees.  Would I be right to assume that a fee will only come out of the profit I make mining, or might I be required to cover some of the fees out-of-pocket so to speak?  Or rather, is there a potential to lose existing bitcoins while mining, I mean?

  Thanks!

The pool take fees directly from the block solved. So it can't take your bitcoins confirmed!

Ah, okay, perfect, that's just what I wanted to know.  Thank you!

And thank you to everyone else who answered as well  Smiley

I was having a bit of trouble connecting to this pool, and I can't seem to connect to the website, either.  Is this happening for anyone else, or is it something on my end?

Thanks,

Celroc.

Hi all, I've been browsing the forums for a short while and finally decided to join in.  I'm a bit interested in mining as a hobby (That is, not so much for profit, but just for something cool to do). I don't really have any experience with mining or pools yet, but hope to try it out sometime soon.
