I'm trying out BoltVM for hosting but am having some trouble getting a MN to start. When I start the MN from my wallet it says "masternode started remotely" but when I grep my IP it doesn't show anything. Does it matter that I'm using the same rpcuser and pass and private key that I used on a previous VPS? Do I need to do something on the old MN VPS? All I did was ./dashd stop. I followed Tao's guide if that provides any insight (thanks by the way ). hummmm whelp - If nothing is running on the OLD site then it's not gonna be a problem with the NEW site You should try.... dash-cli masternode stop on the server and then dash-cli masernode start THEN masternode start [passwd] or masternode start-many [passwd] on the hot-wallet side I have found the same issue from time to time and this seems to fix it You might even need to do a reboot of the server and then run the commands above again If everything is setup properly - it will work eventually Not everything works in a - right now manner time can be delayed and commands to start the MN can also be delayed It's weird but in the end - if you have done everything correctly - you might have a MN that is running properly but it looks all jacked up I run a so called 'diagnostics' program that fuzzyduck-moocowmoo-and I put together called dashR that gives me all the info I need to know if my MN is Listening and Running properly Try it if you like See what happens https://github.com/MangledBlue/DASH/tree/MangledBlue-dashR-1please ask if you have any questions I'm about off to bed soon so..... Thanks! I just did ./dashd stop and start and then started it from the hot wallet again and it worked. I was going to say I would have no idea how to use the program you posted but I just saw that there's a nice guide. That explains why dash-cli masternode stop wouldn't work. Yes - that works also :-) Good to hear you're back :-D edit: which guide are you referring to?? link? This is the one I used: https://dashtalk.org/threads/taos-masternode-setup-guide-for-dummies.2680/

What is the point to come and spread fud here?
They feel their coins are threatened by Dash and are envious of everyone who got in early

Your masternode are on vultr? My vultr mn crash 14 hours ago
Yeah, mine was around block 306679 when I restarted it.

My MN crashed today after running for at least 10 weeks straight with no problems or maintenance. Is all I have to do is ./dashd on the vps and then do masternode start in the wallet? I'm not able to use the same address that I used when I first started the MN because it has received payments right?
No you can easly use the same ...where is the problem, simply start the node in remote after that start the node from local. It does not metter if you have many other inputs in this address, the important thing is that you havent moved the 1000 coins (the vin hasn`t changed) Thanks for the quick reply. I just let my wallet sync and unlocked it and did masternode start and it said "you must set masternode=1 in the configuration." I don't remember doing that before. Edit: I forgot about starting the wallet through the command line with the conf. Oops

Ah, it must not be redirecting to that anymore. I only have to press "D" and Drk.mn pops up. Thanks

I can't find my masternode.conf ,is there a way to read it from the vps? It won't be on your VPS for a typical cold-remote setup. It's a manual created file. I didn't think so So do I have to setup a new MN to be able to vote?

It looks like kadrek is checking the hash of a "dash*****.zip.md5" file, not the actual "dash*****.zip"
YES! Ugh haha, I thought I had to check the properties of the .md5 file, I didn't know I had to double click it. I wonder why I'm getting a warning now, maybe something to do with windows updates. Thanks

I just downloaded windows zip file of the .23 wallet from Dashpay.io, or what I thought was Dashpay.io anyway, and when I run the dash-qt.exe in the 64 bit folder I get a message that says "Windows protected your PC." "Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app may put your PC at risk." When I click "more info" it says the publisher is unknown. I'm using windows 8.1 64-bit and have always used the 64-bit version of the wallet with no issues. My unzipped wallet is 28,113 KB, is that the same as some of you guys?
Download a tool which can create MD5 or SHA-256 hashes for files, like http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck/ or something similar. Create the hash (it's saved in a new file) and check against the ones provided here: https://www.dashpay.io/downloads/If they are identical, you're fine. If not, DON'T RUN/EXECUTE THAT FILE.Delete it, someone has changed it. Hmmm. I deleted that one and downloaded it from dashpay.io again and created the hash. I was just supposed to right click on the zip file and clicking create checksum file right? This is what I got

MN's can stay on .22 and not be bumped out of the payment cycle?

Have a withdrawal of 49 DASH that I never made, happen on my masternodes wallet. The amounts look like MN payments... this has happened twice now...another wallet had 66 DASH withdrawn?
? I think he's saying there have been two times coins have been sent out of his wallet that he didn't do himself. It sounds like he might be drunk on his own product and just doesn't remember doing it

Holy shit, the trolls are really fishing for content now. I almost feel bad for them, spending all their time and having nothing to show for it. They all just secretly wish they got in at a lower price.

So iCEBREAKER is acutally Eduardo deCastro? Now he's here trolling DASH? His sig says Evan should go to jail, is this guy really that thick? If I was this guy I'd be trying to draw the least amount of attention to myself and keep my dumb mouth shut. What a fucking tool. I'll be waiting for the "blah blah blah attack-the-attacker blah blah blah" post. You're still a fucking tool and you know it. Everyone should take everything you say with a grain of salt. It's never good to speak of someone negitively when they are not here to defend themselves - just sayin
He obviously still reads the thread as he has posted recently. He will speak up if he feels the need.
