42  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any Beginners Tips? on: July 13, 2018, 12:53:22 PM
I really think that before "jumping" to crypto and wallet every newbie should understand this technology cause there are plenty of new terms 100+ and what exactly is blockchain technology?

It is impossible even to understand what is Ethereum in less than few days....

I wrote this guide focused on Blockchain Technology
https://101blockchains.com/ultimate-blockchain-technology-guide/
As well I published this Blockchain Glossary
https://101blockchains.com/blockchain-definitions/

I think starting with this 2 articles will give you a solid ground before jumping to wallets and investments....

Please do share your feedback as I want to improve them

Thanks

44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is DAICO? on: July 10, 2018, 09:10:42 AM
Hi

The Abyss Platform is the first ever who did DAICO!

But what is DAICO? An improved ICO Model?

A DAICO smart contract will have two parts, as follows:

(1) Like ICO- The first part will allow investors to send their Ethers to the project team. -
(2) Advanced Mechanism- The second part provides a mechanism where the funds are released to the project team in phases => A democratic system where investors vote will determine the quantum of funds for release.

Here is a detailed guide I wrote about it
https://101blockchains.com/what-is-a-daico/

Hope it is more clear now Smiley

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do You looking for in ICO? on: July 07, 2018, 12:22:33 PM

Hi

When analyzing an ICO, I would look at the 8 following points:

1) Quality of the ICO whitepaper writing
2) Credentials of the ICO team, prev experience?
3) ICO product idea, do they have a working beta? Project Timeline
4) ICO technology aspects, is it doable? Relevant for Blockchain?
5) Tokenization aspects, Utility or Security Token?
6) Token sale structure, is it a sustainable company or hit and run?
7) Legal aspects
Cool Market research, any other competitors? Business opportunities?

For further details, I find this guide useful =>

47  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL What is this? HODL or HOLD? on: July 07, 2018, 10:48:08 AM
Hi HODL / FUD / LAMBO a whole new Crypto Lexicon

HODL- stands for HOLD. It is used by investors to hold on to their investment during tough times.
FUD- stands for Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. It can happen in the market and completely crash it due to rumors spread across social media.
LAMBO- Lambo stands for Lamborghini.

50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is NEO future depends on its ecosystem? on: July 05, 2018, 10:53:31 AM
Hi

Recently I was working on mapping the NEO dApps ecosystem to creat an infographic with a list of dapps in order to better understand what is the status of the whole project.

We found 29 dapps

-Exchange: Nex, Aphelion, Epenex
-Media: Adex, GagaPay
-Marketplace: RedPulse, Zeepin, Travala, Phatsma, Thor, MoonLight, Narrative, Impulsify
-Identification: TheKey, Bridge Protocol
-Optimization: Apex, Trinity
-Service: Effects.AI, MyWish, NNS
-FinTech: AlphaCat, SpotCoin
-Gaming: AsuraCoin, FTW
-AI: Senno
-IoT: Orbis
-eCommerce: Treatial
-Decentralized Network: QLC Chain

What do you think the correlation between the dApps to the overall success of the project? If so why we do not see NEO invest much more efforts in building the developers community? Is it too early to launch a dapp on top of NEO?

Here is a preview

You can find here the detailed analysis

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam coins everywhere. on: July 04, 2018, 11:07:03 AM
Totally agree, every new fundamental technology opens the door for scammers.

My 6 Steps=>

1) Check the credentials of team members- Do not trust members with no real identity or proven expertise.
2) Read the ICO whitepaper, drill down to details.
3) Is there a meaningful project? Do you see a real vision?

Strongly suggest reading my guide
How To Spot ICO Scams

Hope you find it useful

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH is the next generation of BTC? on: July 04, 2018, 10:57:53 AM
This is a great question as Bitcoin price is going down

I would rather focus on understanding to core differentiation between the two

1) Technology Factor
Bitcoin is for p2p transactions while Ethereum invented the Smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps)

2) Transaction Capacity
Bitcoin is limited with the number of transactions (we do see solutions like lightning network) while ethereum has some better scalability solutions.

3)  Number of Coins
Bitcoin will always have 21 million coins while Ethereum, on the other hand, has over 92 million coins in circulation with more being mined every day.

You can read more about it in my comparison Bitcoin Vs Ethereum

I would rather ask the following question: How Ripple is better than Bitcoin?

Hi There

This is exactly why I opened my Blog this year - 101blockchains.com - we Decentralizing Blockchain Knowledge or in simple words, we actually help the world to understand why Blockchain is good without pushing to invest in crypto.

You are invited to take a look and share your feedback.

No Scam No Spam No Bulshit, we are Doers.

But please guys share your feedback here, how useful the content is? What is missing?

54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners Guide To ICO Investing on: July 03, 2018, 04:09:56 PM
Hi

This is really really complicated and unregulated business, strongly recommend to invest much time learning before even considering investing.

The first thing you need to check is to make sure they are not a SCAM.

My 6 Steps=>

1) Check the credentials of ICO team members
2) Read the ICO whitepaper carefully
3) Is there a meaningful ICO project plan?
4) How to spot ICO scams by checking token distribution or token-sale modalities:
5) Use the crypto community: just like  here in Bitcointalk (make sure the person behind is not a marketing affiliate)
6) Consult for useful resources, there are plenty of great sources to learn from, 1 example is my attached detailed guide to spot a scam.

Hope you find it useful

55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcurrency do you think has potential? on: July 03, 2018, 03:55:16 PM
Hi

Currently, there are thousands of alts, one of the things to consider is if they already launched a mainnet such as Ethereum / EOS / Nuls and recently VeChain. (And some more)

I do not recommend to invest in Altcoins as it is a high-risk business but at least you can learn their business models and production status which can really help to understand if there is a real potential.

I think EOS dApps ecosystem is super interesting and growing but will it be a great coin? I cannot predict.

There is a growing project named Spectrecoin till today we do not know who are the founders...and it is still growing while raising questions on their future and credibility. (Oh yes, and who is Satoshi?)

I will give you one of my recent articles regarding Vechain I think it can help you to understand the importance of Mainnet launch when evaluating a new blockchain project, it is a crucial part of their roadmap.
https://101blockchains.com/what-is-vechain-ven/

As well, if you are still not well familiar with mainnet, I wrote this article to explain more
https://101blockchains.com/what-is-a-mainnet-in-cryptocurrency/

Please let me know how you evaluate an Altcoin: Team, Roadmap, what else?

56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: July 03, 2018, 03:40:11 PM
Hi

This is a different approach to try and predict who is Satoshi Nakamoto?

One of the most interesting questions (People search it more than 250000 times a month)
=> My analysis of google trends reveals that

(1) Most people think that it is Nick Szabo 22000 monthly searches.
(2) Small chances it is Hal Finney 15000monthly searches.

However, this is just utilizing crowd wisdom. What do you think about this approach?

Here is the full article with the other familiar possibilities-

57  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Alternatives to blockchain technology on: July 03, 2018, 03:33:31 PM
Hi

Yes there are few alternatives to Blockchain Technology (they are quite similar and  probably people will still call it Blockchain)

The 2 Alternatives I would like to discuss are: Hashgraph and IOTA

(1) Hashgraph
In a single phrase, Hashgraph is a directed acyclic graph (DAG). Sounds too much gibberish? You could call it a digital ledger technology that adopts the concept of gossip about gossip and virtual voting.
Hashgraph solves lots of problems that a blockchain has. Compared to the blockchain, Hashgraph is
-> Faster
-> More secured
-> Fairer

One of the recent platforms which recently launched called ByteBall, this means that DAG is going to take some more technology space in the future!

(2) IOTA

IOTA being an alternative to blockchain technology tries to solve the problem of high power consumption with a new and innovative technology dubbed Tangle. In contrast to blockchain technology, Tangle does not rely on miners to maintain network security.

If I missed other alternatives, please comment Smiley
