Is it even possible to setup a pool for this coin?
How would that work with the deposit requirement and the length of time for those coins to mature?
The code base is the same as bitcoin, so it is possible to set a pool. The pool has to have some coin as a deposit, otherwise there will be penalty. There will be agreement between pool and miner about the deposit. I'm actually only a few days away from having a functional pool, running MPOS with modifications for CRE deposit support. We have the front end and backend functional, with the exception of the actual connection from ccminer/sgminer. Currently the connection drops as soon as you try and connect to the pool's stratum service, but we're working on it!  |

I was out for a few weeks of looking at Credits. Nice development, steady and meaningful. I was interested at looking at CreditsDice.com but that seems tobe down as 3 browsers can't open it.
Anyway, keep up the good work dev.
Glad to see that you're still around. Got the biggest improvement release as of yet coming soon, in the bug eliminating phase right now. Did you read up on the thread here, wrt to improvements and roadmap? Yeah, Greydon seems to be having some dns problems. Think he's working on it. For those waiting for Creditsdice.com to be live again, It's back up! I had some issues with a separate server interfering and causing the page requests to time out, but we're back online! Sorry for any inconvenience The site won't allow me to deposit any Credits. It's not showing a deposit address. I've tried in Chrome and IE.  Yeah my apologies, I had a lot of different things I was investigating to find the problem, and forgot to re-enable calls to the local creditsd instance. Everything should be working fine now, including bets and deposits. Site looks nice but useless as an exchange for Credit -> BTC since 1.992E-5 BTC is available. Hope new wallet is soon available with internal exchange To allow withdrawing of BTC I need bitcoin funding for the wallet. It's not possible at the moment, unless there are users who buy CRE (up to ~2.5 btc currently). Then, that BTC could be "bought" with your CRE and you could withdraw some. |

0% fee is not sustainable. A small fee like 0.1% or 0.01% is better.
Well, there would be no need for a fee. Gabriel isn't trying to make money off the usage of the Credits client, at all. Having the ability to do p2p trading directly through both blockchains via the client, would just be another perk of Credits. 0% fee is the kicker, as there is no middle man (exchange website or broker) to take a commission for your trade. |

Well you can scratch 5000 credits from the total amount of coins. I had a meltdown on one of my mining rigs. No backup. I know stupid things happen. Still have the wallet file. Have spent two days trying to recover using pywallet. I'll send the wallet file if anyone wants to try to recover. You can have half. Let that be another lesson to backup your wallet.
If you think you can recover the wallet let me know. I've tried every option available.

Some info on development and an overview roadmap
A big effort on improving the client on several key areas is currently ongoing. These key areas are:
- Reduced disk footprint
- Speed improvements, blockchain parsing and indexing
- Stability
The development has come quite far and bug testing is ongoing. I will not give any figures here but substantial further savings in all areas can be expected. Watch this space for more info.
Once this next release is out the following areas will be addressed, in the order listed:
1. Decentralised exchange, built into the client. After investigations I've come to the conclusion that Credits is extremely well suited for implementing so called atomic swapping, which will enable a built in, decentralised exchange, directly within the wallet and with no middle man.
2. Pool integration and improved deposit functionality. This has two purposes, apart from getting pooled mining in place. The first is to automate the deposit process once deposits are larger than the reward. The second is enabling miner and depositor collaboration.
3. Integrating newer Bitcoin functionality into Credits. We are currently a few versions behind and it is quite important to get improvements that have been done to the Bitcoin codebase into Credits as well.

Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you this time  When it gets implemented, I think it's safe to say Credits is the most innovative coin currently in existence... Truly impressive. Side note, using the newer version of the bitcoin core would be welcomed, to avoid seeing "this version is obsolete" constantly xD Good work man |

UPDATE:There now exists a method to BUY CRE WITH BTC and SELL CRE FOR BTC!CreditsDice.com now has an option to deposit Bitcoin, mixing the BTC into CRE at the given price listed on the front page. You can also withdraw Bitcoin, which is processed at the highest "site offer" price, which is 9/10 of the listed price. The price of a Credit is dynamic with this method, and will go up with deposits and down with withdrawals! This should give us a nice idea of how much a CRE is worth, too! The starting price on CreditsDice.com is 0.001 BTC/CRE, so come check it out If you have any questions, feel free to reply here, on CreditsDice, or PM me! Just a few observations.
The 9.1.60 wallet works great. It syncs fast and the footprint is much smaller than previous releases.
I am now using the Credits wallet as my main bitcoin wallet. I haven't had any issues sending and receiving bitcoin from the Credits wallet. I still keep a bitcoin node running and the bulk of my bitcoin in an offline wallet and will continue to do so. I have been keeping a bitcoin node running and my main bitcoin wallet offline for some time. I do it so I have rapid access to my bitcoin. But the Credits wallet is what I have been using for the last month for bitcoin transactions. It's been working out just fine.
I'm still mining off and on and will continue to do so. Everything for this coin is in place and has been done in a very professional manner.
So with that said I would like to give the dev and others kudos for a job well done.

bitcoin chain is stuck @ block 280006 since the problem appeared which means, it's stuck like that since at least 1,5 days.
A fix for the problem you have been experiencing has been merged into master. Just pull the latest changes from master, and rebuild and the problem should be solved. If you want to be perfectly safe, rename the old working directory to Credits_old and let the wallet create a completely new Credits directory. Nice work gabe, I'm still tweaking security on the BTC-CRE exchange on Creditsdice.com, but there should be a way to buy CRE and sell within the week! |

I believe another user had an error similar to that, when trying to build on linux from source of the new version, and also occasionally when on a fresh sync (also linux) I suggest downloading the torrent file and initializing the blockchains from there, It's faster and saves you the time of waiting for fixed release |

Yeah, It hiccups sometimes but It's back online now. I need to make an IRC channel for it, so that anyone can report if it's down... Sometimes I don't notice! D: |

And to add on the pain, I sold my PC and bought a new laptop, so it won't be worth to mine with that. I had AsicMiners and Great Graphic Cards but sold them few time back.
Too bad... Yes really. I did a quick google about CRE to BTC Exchange but couldn't find one. So no exchange accepted CRE yet? If not, so no trades going on? How about making a thread in altcoins' marketplace board for buying and selling CRE and users will post the amount of CRE they want to buy or Sell. That's actaully a pretty good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Currently I'm implementing a way to transfer your CRE to BTC and vice versa, on creditsdice.com However, it's not a real exchange as you can make bid/asks and the price will move at a fixed rate depending on the amount of buy volume or sell volume. We are working on getting onto exchanges as we speak, and Gabriel is looking into opening his own as well! |
