41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: hashra.com asic scrypt.... scam? on: April 23, 2014, 06:16:25 PM
When is the Hashra Controlla going to be updated to include basics such as failover?  LightningAsic's software is looking really promising, but I haven't tried it yet.  They are doing auto-overclocking per chip.  Very cool stuff.
Having the ability to define multiple pools would be nice, if HASHRA can implement such a change.
Right now, im experiencing instability in both my Raspberry pi nodes and have updated to the latest image. Seems every few hours the miners go offline and need a hard power cycle to get them back.
It's problematic since my miners are at home and im at work all day, so I miss a good portion of daytime mining as a result.
As a company, HASHRA is an excellent and reliable company. The only down side is the long-time it takes to ship to the US. It took 2 weeks to get my GSDs from them, about half that in the pre-shipping status internal to HASHRA.

Hi Usao

Thanks for the feedback.

Not sure what version you are on now but the latest version 1.4.0, now has failover support.
This can be downloaded at hashra.com/support

Obviously they should not be shutting down every few hours, please make sure the "restart" is set to "0".
There are obviously a number of reasons as to why this could be happening with your miners, there is a good thread here about the firmware, someone here maybe able to help too: bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=524770.0

Sorry about any long wait in getting your miners out to you, something we are continuously working on I assure you.

Failover is available now in the latest version of HASHRA CONTROLA (Now called MINI because we have ATLANTIS and BLADE version coming).

Can be downloaded at hashra.com/support

HASHRA,

I like the new feature on the mini controla that I can add multiple pools.  Finnally I don't have to cut/paste all the time.

I would like to see you guys add the ability to get some more mining control settings though, like in scripta.  The reason is, I like to mine on p2pools and I need to tweak the settings for optimum mining.  With scripta it's possible.  NOT with Hashra.

Another thing is, it would be nice for us to know what you are changing or tweaking in every update so that we could give you feed backs.

Still, over 850Mhz is not possible to mine without huge HW

and still "some" HW under 850Mhz speeds.

Thanks for the input.

Were working on it and will take what you said on board, thanks.  Smiley

I ordered and paid BTC for the blade 2 days ago, but it's not shipped yet and no support response to my message. Was I scammed?

Hi!

Very sorry for the delay. I have flagged this case as high importance for our shipping staff to follow up.

Thank you for your patience for the time being.

The SD card I got with my PI is a 16GB.  I read that some of you able to use 8GB!  Will the new 1.4 fit on an 8GB?  What class of cards better to use with PI?

New IMG file is 3.88GB, I would suggest to use an 8GB card.

Please see this list for details on SD cards best for the Pi.

Just wanted to say thank you to the Hashra guys and everyone else who helped me narrow down the possible issues with my machines.  As it turns out a bad ethernet hub was creating a data collision domain with all the machines.  Once removed all was well.  Thanks again!!

Good to hear!

what's the root password for 1.4?

it's not root, hashra or pi

Sorry Bexwhitt but the user and password will not be public for this version.

We are working on some features for the future where having the user and password public is just not going to work.

Sorry about that.
49  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HASHRA CONTROLA on Raspberry Pi for Gridseed on: April 20, 2014, 12:42:07 PM
Please see hashra.com/support to download version 1.4.0

Now called "HASHRA MINI CONTROLA" as we will have a version for BLADE and another for ATLANTIS.

"MINI" is what we are now calling the Gridseed "5 Chip Devices".

i know you said you have re-imaged multiple times, but have you used the same image file each time? Maybe thats the issue. Try re-downloading the file and go from there if you havnt already.

Spot on… Yes please try this out.

Regarding HUBs we suggest to use the most powerful you can get, the 20 port versions we have on our site for the Atlantis is one we get made to order here in Shenzhen… uses 90W power… I am sure there was a stability increase when we started using these.

I'm sure someone is selling these on ebay.

Could you link me to this exact hub by chance?  Thanks!

Yes sorry, that would help…

On the next update could we get the ability to tune individual miners?

We made a decision not to go for this for now I'm afraid.

I wanted to post a picture of the message I am seeing on the GUI when it locks up,  this may point to me having received trashy SD cards or possibly a corrupted image file on the cards.  I am going to use Apple Pi Baker to re image the SD cards to see if this fixes anything tonight.

Yes, think this is wise to do. Make you obviously click update firmware once downloaded to make sure you have the latest version running.
55  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HASHRA CONTROLA on Raspberry Pi for Gridseed on: April 16, 2014, 08:24:19 PM
Can anyone assist me on this issue?  It seems to crash at the point that it is set to autorestart, I guess it just forgets about the restart part...  they dont all crash at the same time.  I has one crash after 4 hours then 3 crashed at 8 hours then the last one at 12 hours.  Very odd and I have not sure where to go from here...  any help would be VERY much appreciated.  Thanks.

How many MINI's you have on the Pi?

We suggest 20 in Scrypt.... 10 in Dual mode.

I have 20 units on a single Pi.  They boot up and all run perfectly fine until the shutdown command gets sent from the GUI and they just don't boot back up it would seem.  I'm running them off a 30AMP 360w 12v power brick which I really doubt is an issue as they run flawlessly when they are online... Could the Pi SD card be corrupted?  Keep in mind I have 100 units across 5 Pi's and this is happening on all machines so whatever the issue is it would have to apply to everything not just one or two machines.  And since they dont all seem to crash at the same intervals the issue gets a bit more convoluted.... Hopefully someone can assist.  I really like the Controla interface so I hope that is not the issue.

-Andrew

20 units should be fine with Controla at 850 Clock speed.

What USB hub you using? sounds alike it could be a hardware issue. Really want to use really good quality powerful HUBs if possible, does make a big difference.

Blades shipping now? Looking at getting one.

Blades shipping out towards the end of this week...  Smiley

We will make sure everyone gets a copy of the BLADE CONTROLA on an sd card that buys from us, you will also be able to download it though from our website.

60  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HASHRA CONTROLA on Raspberry Pi for Gridseed on: April 16, 2014, 02:20:35 AM
\i don't really want to bother with the importing of the gridseed blade from hashra as after vat and import tax I would be worse of if I got one it would be from minereu.com

My point is can you get the hashra controla for the blade in a download anywhere

Not sure that's true....  Wink

But yes, we'll have the new HASHRA BLADE CONTROLA free to download on our site. Smiley

In the UK $1500 imported would be plus 2.1% import tax plus 20% VAT which could be around $1840 unless you were very lucky and it got  through customs without anybody tagging it

Can't see the script only version of the CONTROLA on the hashra site

The BLADE CONTROLA will be up on our site by the end of the week, for those that purchase from us will get it pre-loaded on an SD card.
